Chapter Ten

"Love does not consist if gazing at each other, but in looking together in the same direction."

-Antoine de Saint-Exupery

"That's a very nice… snow… dog… um… Shippo." Kagome cocked her head and plastered a decidedly phony grin on her face. "Yeah. It looks just like Inuyasha."

Actually, it looked more like a heap of snow with a pair of pale rocks for ears and two angry looks twigs for eyebrows. Kagome was pretty sure that Inuyasha probably wouldn't like the comparison when he saw it… and where was he, anyway?

"Do you think Inuyasha will like it?" Shippo grinned, knowing full well that the hanyou wouldn't.

"Oh - he'll love it so much that you'll need witness protection." Kagome patted his head cheerfully, safe in the knowledge that the witness protection act hadn't been invented yet so Shippo wouldn't know she'd just insulted his workmanship.

"Where is he anyway?" Shippo asked suddenly.

"Um…" Kagome looked around, but saw only the scattering of wooden huts, melting snow and weary looking veterans. "I don't know."

Shippo's lips were pursed tightly as his gaze slid slowly up to Kagome. "I bet he's with Kikyo…"

Kagome whirled around on the child. "What?!" she barked at him.

"Ack - I mean! I only say that because I've seen at least three soul catchers flying around today - or many just one that I saw three times - I don't know! Please don't stomp on me!"

Kagome's outrage dissipated somewhat as she realized Shippo wasn't just trying to wind her up… he was just pointing out the obvious possibility. The schoolgirl looked around more carefully now, half expecting a wraith like soul catcher to come flying out from the trees or behind a hut. Of course, there was nothing out of the ordinary to be seen, so she had to take Shippo's word for it.

Kikyo was nearby. And when Inuyasha disappeared when Kikyo was nearby…

An ache had been growing in her chest ever since the moment Shippo had mentioned the miko's name… and now it jolted painfully with fear and loneliness.

Why was he with her?

Why was she the one standing alone?

"So the rumors about the bone-eater's well is true?"

Inuyasha flinched as another soul catcher slid past him, brushing against his cheek in the process. He didn't like to say anything in front of Kikyo, but he absolutely detested the creatures. They was just another reminder that Kikyo was more youkai than human nowadays. Especially today. Perhaps it was because she was dressed completely in her white, full length kimono - the one she usually wore beneath her clothes. Her red hakama was missing. It made her look positively supernatural… just like the day he'd watched her beneath the waterfall.

"What rumors?" he managed to suppress his urge to pull a face as the same soul catcher wrapped it's body loosely around his torso.

"I remember that the villagers used to dispose the remains of the youkai I killed down that well." Kikyo said, gazing at him with calm eyes. "It was often speculated that the well was a transportation device of some kind… even though I assumed it was more likely that the well had dissolving properties." Her dark eyes narrowed imperceptibly. "So tell me. Where does the well lead?"

And yet for all the trials that he'd gone through with this woman, and with all the consequences that had resulted from his mistrust of her… he still didn't trust her completely. He didn't think it was wise to let her know everything about Kagome. "No where you know." He said, hoping to evade the question.

But he knew that if she asked directly, he wouldn't be able to lie. She knew it too, and that was why she smiled. "Another country?"

Inuyasha's gaze darted to the ground. "Yes."

"Another time perhaps?" she guessed again.

"The future." He responded flatly. "Kagome says it's about five hundred years."

"'Kagome says'…" the undead miko echoed. "That's very interesting."

Not really. The time difference between his world and Kagome's had never really bothered Inuyasha. After all, he was familiar with the concept of other realities - his father's grave lay in one of them, after all.

"Don't you think?" Kikyo raised a hand to skim a fingertip across the belly of the nearest soul catcher. "My copy must be from the future then."

Do you have to talk about her that way…? Inuyasha couldn't keep the frown from his face, and Kikyo's chin tilted to see it.

"A copy is what that girl-child is, Inuyasha. Don't make that face at me. She is the one who came after me. Everything she is and everything she does… it's all in my footsteps and in the mold that I cast. She is, essentially, based on me."

Anger flared within him. No one - not even Kikyo - was allowed to lower Kagome's worth like that. "And you are based on a woman who died fifty years ago." He snapped back without thinking.

For a moment Kikyo seemed shocked beyond words - even though her face was incapable of registering much expression. But then she was back in control. "I apologize." She said gravely, lowering her head in a small bow. "Perhaps that was a little unflattering of me."

Great… now Inuyasha felt bad. He'd never really taken a shot at Kikyo like that.

"But I must admit that I find her origins intriguing." Kikyo said, pushing herself to her feet slowly. "Five hundred years… they're mapped out before us. Fate has decided our lives and we're just players acting out our roles. Does the girl's past reveal our future?"

Inuyasha's eyes had glazed over somewhere near the beginning of all that. "What do you mean?"

"Is that why the girl has joined your forces?" Kikyo rephrased. "Because her past is our future, and she alone knows the outcome of the battle."

Inuyasha frowned, confused. "No… she's with us because… um… because…" Because it's her fault the blasted jewel broke… even though she has no real quarrel with Naraku, even though she has no ties or family here… she's just with us because…

Because of me?

"Because she shares my talents, correct?" Kikyo answered for him.

"Yeah." That too.

"But I've seen her talents and they pale in comparison to mine, even now, with my body in this form and my soul demised." She gestured to her chest.

She was doing it again. Putting Kagome down. For some reason, after what he'd shared with the girl last night, he was feeling ultra protective of every small barb aimed at her. "Kagome isn't weak. She's come a long way from when we started and she's saved our lives on several occasions. I don't think she's even scratched the surface of her powers yet-"

Kikyo's hard eyes stared into his own. "Are you so sure they'll remain now that you've fucked her?"

Her words were like a punch in the gut. The wind was all but knocked from his lungs as his stomach turned to stone. I can't believe she swore…

"Last night, correct?" Anger flashed in those cold eyes of hers.

Inuyasha's mouth dropped open. "How did you-"

"I told you. A little bird told me."

A third soul catcher drifted out of the darkness beneath the trees and headed straight for Kikyo, whirling around her as she advanced on him.

"Kikyo - I'm sorry." What else could he say?

"Have you forgotten your promise to me?" she demanded evenly as she stopped before him. "You promised to die with me - to accompany me to hell."

"I've never forgotten!" he argued heatedly.

"So do you plan to leave the girl to come with me?" she shot back.

Inuyasha opened his mouth, but words failed him. He wanted to reassure her that he would still be here for her, even though he'd failed her so many times in the past. But he couldn't. All he could think of was Kagome and what would happen to her if he left her alone in this world.

A battle played across his face and slowly, as Kikyo watched, her expression softened. "You are more passionate and loyal than you realize, Inuyasha." She said softly. "By giving yourself to this girl you have sealed your fate to her."

"I'm sorry…" he managed.

"You must have known… before you took her that your feelings for her would overwhelm you." Kikyo continued. "Now there is no room in your heart for me."

He shook his head. "That's not true." But he said it without feeling or confidence.

"Perhaps…" Her chin dropped again and Inuyasha stared, waiting for her next response.

Slow hands reached up, touching the white ribbon that held her hair back. Inuyasha watched in bemusement as she pulled it loose and let her lustrous hair fall untamed around her shoulders. The next thing she did was reach for the tie of her kimono at her waist… and before Inuyasha could prepare himself, the miko had parted the material and let the cloth fall unhindered to the ground.

She wore nothing. Her body was perfect. Her skin was as pale and delicate looking as fine porcelain, marred with no imperfections other than a pale red crease across her right shoulder where Naraku's miasma had scarred her permanently.

For all the similarity in their faces, Inuyasha was certain that Kagome and Kikyo's shared features did not apply to their bodies. Kikyo's breasts were fuller, her nipples darker and larger and her hips flared more perceptibly than Kagome's.

"Perhaps…" Kikyo said again. "We can rediscover our loyalty for each other again…?"

Then she stepped into his arms.

Kagome had never been so relieved to bath in a cold river in her life. "Ooh… that feels so good."

The frigid water soothed the soreness at her center, easing the ache into respite. She would have preferred a nice hot bath but since the nearest hot spring happened to be several miles away, Kagome couldn't be choosy.

Now that she had the time to sit down and relax - and see herself naked - Kagome realized that last night's activities had left more of a mark on her than she'd originally thought. Small purple bruises speckled her hips and thighs and there was one particularly nasty one on her shoulder. Kagome frowned. She didn't remember anything getting too rough last night… so perhaps she was more tender than she gave herself credit for?

She didn't remember him grasping her hips with any real force… or her shoulder for that matter. All his caresses had been loving… even though, perhaps, they had gotten pretty carried away towards the end. If there had been rough play, Kagome had been too busy with the pleasure to notice.

The mere memory of that pleasure sent little lightning bolts zinging through her. Kagome bit her lip and clamped her thighs shut against the sensation, but it was hard to ignore. Despite all her fears and apprehensions, she'd liked having Inuyasha's body over hers. She'd liked the insistence of his mouth against her skin and even though it had been painful and uncomfortable at first, Kagome knew that next time the penetration would be even better.

Yes, sex hadn't been quite what she'd imagined and, to be honest, the orgasm hadn't been the best she'd ever had. But nevertheless, she was craving another round… craving Inuyasha like she'd never thought possible.

Perhaps this was her repercussion? She'd been turned into a nymphomaniac!

A moan snapped Kagome out of her daydream, and upon inspection, she was horrified to learn that it had been her moan. She was supposed to be washing away the sweat from last night's activities - not working up another one by imagining the next time.

A twig cracked in the trees behind her.

Scenario #3: The Hot Spring (sort of)

Kagome whirled around like a shot. "Who's there?" she demanded angrily, even though she already suspected it was him and was secretly delighted.

But all she saw was a fox. Not even a kitsune - just an ordinary common or garden fox. It looked up and saw her belatedly, before speedily trotting off back into the trees.

Scenario #3: (false alarm…)

The schoolgirl blew out an annoyed sigh. "Damn…" she muttered to herself, slightly dismayed that Inuyasha hadn't come to rendezvous with her.

But it wasn't like she'd forgotten. Kikyo was nearby… so obviously Kagome could draw her own conclusions from that fact alone. However, that didn't stop her from hoping that he was really just at the top of a mountain, shouting out his undying love for her to the world.

Unlikely, but Kagome wasn't going to pass judgment till he returned. She wasn't about to go looking for him either, because the last time she'd tried that she'd ended up with more than she'd bargained for.

No further foxes paid her any more visits during the remainder of Kagome's bath time. After deciding that she was no longer sore or dirty, she got dried off and dressed to head back to the village. But every step there was heavy hearted and her feet tended to drag along the ground, scuffing her shoes.

It didn't seem fair. He'd promised he wouldn't run off to Kikyo like this! And what was the first thing he'd done?

Kagome had never felt so lonely in her life, and she was beginning to realize her foolishness.

Perhaps she'd been too hasty to show Inuyasha the extent of her love with her body?

Perhaps… a mistake had been made?

The village arrived before her, the trees giving way to open landscape covered with rice paddies and wooden houses. Kaede's was at the foot of hill below the Shrine, and Kagome made a straight beeline for it. Or she would have, if a certain Hanyou hadn't dropped out of the sky in front of her.

"Jgh - don't DO that!!" she cried, almost certain that he'd given her a heart attack.

He didn't say anything, just giving her a brief, pale and strained look before grabbing her wrist and dragging her off towards Kaede's hut. Kagome staggered along behind him, already coming to her own conclusions of why he looked like that. He looked like he'd seen a ghost.

He probably had.

"What's the matter with you?" she demanded hotly. "Where have you been?"

He didn't answer, but continued dragging her along. It wasn't into Kaede's hut they went, but behind the back. Kagome looked up at him in bewilderment when he'd released her. Did he want privacy to talk? Because this certainly was one of the only hidden places in the village. The only people who could see them were the people walking down the Shrine steps on the hill behind them - but then again, not that many people were using the Shrine today.

Kagome planted her hands on her hips with a huff. "Right, mister, you better have a damn good explanation or else I'll-"

He silenced her with a kiss and her back hit the wall of the hut with a thump as his body pressed against hers. A knee was inserted between her legs and his thigh ground against her sex, making her gasp and buck her hips in response. His kiss was hungry and demanding, insatiable in nature as his hands, kneading and squeezing her breasts, proved to be equally fervent.

Her initial squeak of surprise faded in an instant to this onslaught, and soon she was melting against him, giving in to his demands and offering more.

"Gods… you're so warm and young and healthy…" he gasped between kisses. His hand dipped beneath her skirt and soon his fingers were under her panties, stroking and massaging. Kagome went utterly boneless as her throat opened in a silent moan. Her uninhibited response drew a real groan from Inuyasha. "You're so alive…"

His hips pushed against hers and she felt the proof of his lust as a hard bulge against her hip bone. Where had this come from? Why this sudden intense sexual need?

Rather reluctantly, Kagome gathered her strength and resolve into her arms and pushed him away. "What's gotten into you?" she snapped, dabbing her swollen lips with a sleeve.

"Oh god, Kagome…" Inuyasha hung his head in his hands. "Your friend was right…"

"Ayumi?" Kagome scowled. "What do you-"

"The fortune - she read my fortune and it was came true!"

Kagome was quickly growing alarmed. Inuyasha looked seriously ill, or maybe like he was about to cry. He sat down with a thud, one hand covering his eyes in shame while the other pressed against his stomach. "Oh god… I've done something terrible… unforgivable…" he gulped. "I'm gonna regret it for the rest of my life."

Inuyasha crouched down before him. "What have you done?" she asked with mounting dread.

"Well…" he lifted his head. "This is what happened…"

What happened…

"Perhaps…" Kikyo said again. "We can rediscover our loyalty for each other again…?"

Then she stepped into his arms - or tried to. His hands caught her shoulders roughly and held her at a safe distance. He couldn't bare to meet her gaze, so he stared at the ground instead. "Don't…" he uttered. "Don't do this."

"Why?"

Her flesh beneath his hands was cold, and her scent wreaked of death and mud. There was only the faintest smell of the original Kikyo there… but, like Kikyo's soul, it was small, weak and buried beneath this false shell of earth, bones and clay. Nothing about this woman aroused him, and what she was trying to give him now made his heart quiver… he couldn't do this to Kagome.

"I can't…" he hastily released her to pick up her fallen clothes. "I just can't. Please don't ask this of me, Kikyo."

Even though she made no move to help him, Inuyasha pulled the kimono back over her shoulders and folded the front over her chest as carefully as possible. After she was suitably covered he stepped back, gaze still averted.

Kikyo watched him shrewdly. "Making love is just a physical act, Inuyasha… an earthly sin. It is dirty and base… and yet you think this has solidified your bond to the girl-child?"

"It's not just an act. Not to me." He responded heavily. "That's why I can't… I can't betray her and I can't do the same for you?"

"Because you despise this body?" she asked sharply.

"No." coughyescough

"Or because you'll 'bond' with me too if we go through with it and then you'd be torn between us?"

Inuyasha flinched at the sarcasm in her words. She didn't believe that sex could bond two people the way he felt bonded to Kagome. Neither had he… until he'd tried it. Now Kagome felt like the center of his world, and already he was itching to get back to her.

"Well then…" Kikyo closed her eyes calmly and rearranged her clothes properly, slipping her arms into the sleeves of her kimono, and flashing Inuyasha plenty of times in the process. "I hope you realize… that what once belonged to the heart will always belong to the heart."

She finished fastening her sash to lift a finger to Inuyasha's chest. "My heart owns you, Inuyasha. We've both acknowledged this. And I will never lose you to anyone… not to Naraku… and not to a little girl…"

Inuyasha shot her a vaguely hurt look, and slowly he began backing away from her. "I have to go…" he said quietly.

"You'll know where to find me." She replied serenely.

Hardly able to even look in her direction anymore, Inuyasha turned tail and ran for all he was worth - back to the village and back to the girl he desired.

Kagome…

Her sweet moans from the night before seemed to echo through his mind. The way she'd gasped "I love you" had made his heart squeeze in a way that it didn't often do. The only other time he felt like that was when Kagome either did something very brave or very stupid for his sake…

She was endearing, and even though he'd made a conscious decision to protect her a long time ago… nowadays he wanted to do more than protect her. He wanted to keep her happy, keep her smiling, keep her from having to be crestfallen over him and Kikyo… and most of all he wanted to get her alone again to see her orgasm face.

He couldn't wait any longer. He had to find her!

"Shippo!" Inuyasha bellowed as he arrived behind the runt and his odd looking pile of snow with angry eyebrows. "Where's Kagome?"

"Jgh - d-don't do that to me!!" the young kitsune shrieked back, clasping small hands to his chest. "What are you trying to do - make my heart pop?!"

"Where's - Kagome?!" Inuyasha demanded again, slower and more menacing this time.

Shippo shrugged. "I don't know. By the river? She said something about having a bath…"

The river. Inuyasha didn't spare the child any more of his precious time as he bolted off in the direction of the stream where most of the villagers liked to bathe. He could hardly contain himself… his head was too full of the images of Kagome bathing. In cold water, no less.

He could just image the Goosebumps that would spread across her naked flesh… the way her rosy nipples would pucker into and harden against the water's temperature. The way her body would shiver deliciously…

Inuyasha bit his lip hard. He needed to be with her. He had to know…

Scenario #3: The Hot Spring (aaaagain…)

Inuyasha slowed down as he neared the river, not wanting his arrival to be too abrupt. He could hear the sound of rushing water… and just above that, the sound of a body splashing. Flattening himself behind a conveniently place tree, Inuyasha waited for a moment. Trying to regain control. He didn't want to rush out and scare Kagome… he needed to take it slow like last night, or else she'd push him away and refuse to let him touch her. Kagome was a bit of a flighty lamb when it came to intimacy.

Carefully, he stepped out from behind his hiding place and moved towards the bank of the river. His goal was hidden from view behind an outcropping rock in the middle of the river, so Inuyasha began stripping out of his haori and kimono as he stepped into the water and waded towards her.

Anticipation was wracking his insides and his skin burned to feel hers again. His conversation with Kikyo had only stirred longing for the schoolgirl, and he needed to hold her. Know she was safe. Know she was his. Know that he hadn't harmed her… not like Kikyo had suggested he had.

He couldn't wait any longer. Surging forward through the water, he rounded the rock and pulled her into his arms. "I'm sorry I left - I need you so bad right now!" he exclaimed.

"My my, Inuyasha. If I knew you felt this way then I'd have come a little more prepared."

Inuyasha's stomach seemed to drop straight out of his body to be swept away with the river's current.

For in his arms, he held none other than the lovely Kaede.

Kagome's face had held a slightly stupefied expression throughout his tale. "You… did… what?!"

"It was horrible!" Inuyasha all but wailed. "She was all wrinkly and saggy and everything was trailing along the river bed!"

"You met Kikyo and she was naked?!" Kagome ground out.

"You're not focusing on the important part!" Inuyasha snapped. "I. Saw. Kaede. Naked. I'm scarred for life! I can't even close my eyes because the images are burned onto the backs of my eyelids!"

"But what about Kikyo?" Kagome was very close to grabbing him by the lapels and shaking some sense from his mouth. "What did you do with Kikyo?"

"Nothing!" Inuyasha declared, in complete honesty. He never lied to Kagome where Kikyo was involved. "I didn't even touch her! Ok… I had to touch her to hold her away from me - but I did more with Kaede than I did with her!" he shuddered in repulsion.

"Am I supposed to believe that?" Kagome frowned.

"Yes!"

Kagome folded her arms, her anger fading somewhat into hurt. "Inuyasha, you promised me that you wouldn't go running off the Kikyo at the first opportunity. And what was the first thing you did when we got here?"

"I know…" he glared at the earth.

"You promised me."

"Yeah - well she's important to me! I can't just ignore her!" Inuyasha snapped back.

A sensation similar to someone reaching right through her chest to punch her heart struck Kagome. She gave no outward sign that his words had hurt her, but they had. After all they had shared last night… he still felt Kikyo was more important? Kagome swallowed hard, swaying on her feet as she stared off into the distance, hardly able to twitch a muscle in case that lump in her throat developed into tears.

"Look, Kikyo knows about us." Inuyasha said slowly. "I think she's upset, that's why she offered herself to me."

"Oh, and you denied her of course." Kagome flinched a hard look at him.

"Yes."

"But she obviously turned you on otherwise you wouldn't have come rushing straight to me to -to - to slake your lust!" Damn. Her voice had quivered.

"No! I went to Kaede first!" Inuyasha shouted, hearing her quiver and reacting defensively. And to Inuyasha, the best defense was a good offence. "I just told you!"

"And that's supposed to make me feel better?!"

"No - but I was looking for you!"

"To f-fulfill the f-frustration Kikyo left you with?!" Damn!

"No!" Why did she keep coming up with these wild accusations? "Kikyo… Kikyo said some things that made me worried. She said things that I had said."

Kagome's eyes narrowed further. "Like what?"

"She said that our relationship was meaningless." Inuyasha paused for a moment before looking her directly in the eye. "So I tried to find you because… because I had to know that it wasn't meaningless. Last night was too good to be meaningless."

Kagome stared at him flatly. One question kept running through her head again and again. Was it a mistake? Was it a regret? Was this her repercussion?

Well, Kagome didn't intend to see their union as a mistake. It just depended on Inuyasha. What Inuyasha said and did over the next few days would determine whether or not they should have taken the step they'd taken last night.

Fate was against them… but Kagome didn't intend to give up on their relationship so soon.

Stepping forward, Kagome reached up to wind her arms around his neck without a sound. She felt Inuyasha exhale heavily as if he'd been holding his breath, and his arms came up around her as his face pressed against her neck.

"Just don't run off like that again. You freaked me out." Kagome told him, somewhat sulkily.

"I promise." And this time he meant it. It wasn't just a quick agreement to get her to have sex with him, it was a vow from his heart.

"And now do you believe the fortune telling?" she asked.

"Mm. Maybe." Inuyasha's nose twitched against her throat. "I have to admit that I probably will be regretting the Kaede thing for the rest of my life. It was always one of my fantasies to catch you bathing… I'd always wanted to do it. Kind of uncanny how it turned out."

Kagome silently chewed her lip.

"And maybe this is gonna stem all those repercussion you keep blabbing on about." Inuyasha continued. "I mean, I don't think we'll ever be able to have sex again."

"What?" Kagome stiffened in surprise.

"Seeing that woman naked is enough to make any man's balls shrivel up."

"Oh gross…"

"Stop dragging your feet, Houshi-sama." Sango called back over her shoulder. "We're nearly back at the village. Then we'll be surrounded by all our companions again and we won't have any alone time for a long time."

Miroku sighed. He knew all those scams, sake binges and adulterous affairs were going to catch up to him eventually. "Fucking karmic justice…"

"What was that?"

"Uh… For it is Kami's just mercy… that we… eh… got out alive."

"Oh." Sango blinked at him. "And why do you look constipated when you say that?"

"… no reason."

"You're so warm… not like Kikyo. You're so warm and you smell of so much life and vitality…"

More comparisons to Kikyo. But Kagome didn't mind so much when she herself was receiving the compliment. Especially when Inuyasha was down on his knees before her, alternately kissing and licking her inner thighs. Kagome's breath hitched higher with every nip of his teeth at her flesh. Her back was flattened against the wall while her fingers tangled sensually in Inuyasha's hair, skirting around his ears teasingly.

"And you're so soft and supple… no wrinkles or warts anywhere." Inuyasha continued his vocal praise of her body.

Kagome giggled. "It's not her fault she's old, Inuyasha. I'll be that old one day, and so will you for that matter."

"Don't care. As long as your breasts don't knock against your knees your ass doesn't drag against the ground then you'll still turn me on, even when I'm an incontinent old fart." He nipped another patch of skin before soothing it with his tongue.

"And if my breasts and ass do start moving south?" she asked distractedly.

"Never." His hands reached up for a moment to rake down over her breasts before moving round her back to stroke down over her buttocks. "You'll always be firm and beautiful."

His hands moved under her skirt to cup her cheeks and squeeze them gently. At the same moment, he pressed a scorching open-mouthed kiss right against her sex. Kagome felt the heat and the moisture even through the material of her panties. A gasp tore from her throat and she would have toppled to the ground if Inuyasha's hands hadn't been supporting her backside.

Inuyasha's mouth move against her, igniting fresh flames in the pit of her stomach - a liquid heat that washed straight to the place where he kissed her until it wasn't just his saliva that made her panties wet.

"Y-You don't have to do that." She tried to say coherently. "I-If you don't want…"

"Don't even think that." Inuyasha growled in response. Kagome soon found her panties shoved aside completely until it was only his naked mouth on her naked center.

Kagome gave an unintentionally loud groan as the pleasure increased tenfold. She couldn't believe what he was doing… it felt incredible. She had to hold one hand over her mouth to keep from crying out again.

"You taste so good." Inuyasha muttered against her, only serving to increase the fuzzies in Kagome's stomach.

"Ah… Inuyasha… if you keep doing that… I-I'm going to… to…" His tongue was far too talented for its own good.

"You're going to what?" he questioned.

"To… to come…" her fingers were knotting in his hair so tightly it would be a surprise if he wasn't in pain.

"Good." He ran his tongue hard across her clit.

Kagome nearly did orgasm right there and then. Instead she bit her hand to keep from screaming as her pleasure began spiraling further and further up, fast approaching its conclusion-

"Whatcha guys doin'?"

The teenagers' heads whipped around with a start to face the little person peeking around the corner of the hut.

"Uh…" they chorused intelligently.

"All I could hear was groaning." Shippo folded his fists onto his hips. "What were you two up to?" he asked suspiciously.

"Urm…" Kagome flattened her skirt self-consciously. "Well… I got bitten by a snake… on my thigh. Inuyasha was just sucking out the poison for me because I couldn't reach." Kagome praised the lord that she'd caught that program on poisonous creatures the other week.

Shippo's frown didn't budge. "Then why were you groaning like that?"

"Because… because it hurt."

"So…" Shippo pointed a finger at her. "A snake really did bite you on the-"

"Thigh. Yes. It bit my thigh."

"But it didn't look like Inuyasha was sucking your thigh-"

"Well he was!" Kagome poked Inuyasha's shoulder. "Tell him."

"Yeah… her thigh." Inuyasha agreed, licking his lips unconvincingly whilst wearing the expression of Buyo on a catnip high.

"Alright then." The kid shrugged. "Just wanted to tell you that Sango and Miroku are back."

He disappeared around the corner again, non the wiser.

Both Inuyasha and Kagome blew out a synchronized sigh of relief. "That was close." She commented, straightening her skirt and panties. "Yeah," he agreed with a vague nod, watching her clothing rearrangement with avid interest.

"Come on." She tugged his hand. "Let's go welcome them back."

He tutted. "It's not like we don't see them all the time…" he grumbled, but followed nonetheless.

The new arrivals looked pretty weary and rough around the edges, but at least they seemed pleased to be back… or at least, Sango was. Miroku looked like his kazanna was about to swallow him up at any given moment, hence the expression of 'woe is me'.

"It was horrible. We got caught in the blizzard and couldn't get back." Sango filled them in at once. "But now we're here and it's ok… I'll just go put Hiraikotsu away in a dry place."

They watched as the taiji-ya headed off towards Kaede's hut to store away her equipment. Kagome quickly turned to Miroku, already well aware of his romantic attachments to said taiji-ya, and since they had spent a couple of days alone together... "Soooo… have a nice time?"

Miroku blinked at them drolly. "…hate you all."

Inuyasha, Kagome and Shippo stared back at him as he turned around and toddled after Sango diligently.

Kagome pursed her lips. "I guess that answers that question."
