Daylight shone on the hanyou, enlightening his silvery tresses. To the ordinary observant, nothing was there, but the Goshinboku. However, to the few who could see, there lay the great hanyou, Inuyasha, in what came to be known as The Forest of Inuyasha.

Not very far from the sacred tree lay a well. The well was said to make anything one would throw in it cease to exist.

Years earlier, the grandfather of the girl Sango, and men from his demon-exterminating village had slain a centipede youkai. Said youkai had possessed the Shikon jewel. They traveled to the village where the miko Kikyou lived. They knew of the “Bone Eaters well” that lay nearby her village. It was there they disposed of the troublesome youkai, and entrusted the Shikon jewel to the miko.

Now, through that very same well we shall travel; through the centuries, 500 years into the future. Here we find a young girl. She has long raven locks and beauteous chocolate brown eyes. She shares many features with the long deceased and forgotten miko, Kikyou.

Inside of the unknown reincarnation, lies the sacred jewel; evidence of her being the reincarnation.

This girl’s name is Kagome. Higurashi Kagome. She knows not of the jewel, her miko powers, or the past from whence her soul comes. She knows only the simplicity of her life at her shrine and her loving family and friends. She has no idea about the journey she is about to embark on. She doesn’t know the hardships and the virtuous times she will face. She only knows what has happened for her 14, almost 15, years of existence on this planet.

Boy, does she have a lot to discover. In 24 hours, her world will turn upside down.
