Inuyasha and Kagome had been living happily in Keade's village as mates for almost a year now. With Naraku driven underground and Inuyasha's relationship with his brother civil at least, they had settled to living there. Sango and Miroku lived nearby with their twins, so Kagome found herself helping them out whenever she found nothing at home to do.

Early one morning at their hut, Inuyasha found Kagome in a foul mood. She had been to the other town recently and he was sure the journey back had something to do with this. He knew that after leaving the village she was happy, but when they met and traded with the friendly Raccoon youkai, she became depressed. Now he was going to find out why.

He never got the chance though.

Kagome asked Inuyasha if he thought she was pretty,

He sat beside her and said “No.”

She asked him if he would want to be with her forever...and he said “No.”

She then asked him if she were to leave would he cry, and once again he replied with a no.

Kagome had heard enough. As she walked away, tears streaming down her face Inuyasha grabbed her arm and said...

"You're not pretty you're beautiful.

I don't want to be with you forever, I NEED to be with you forever.

And I wouldn't cry if you walked away...I'd die..."

Kagome ran into his arms and looked up at him as he smiled down at her. She then knew that the Raccoon Demons didn't know what they were talking about. Inuyasha could care for even if she was a human. She sighed and relaxed in his embrace, and looked up when he spoke,

"You are the most important thing to me"

She finally giggled, "What about our daughter?"

The story idea is actually an e-mail I received that I modified and out in context for fun

I actually don't know where it came from so..?

I might have out this into the disclaimer except I wasn't sure how to word it.
There is an almost exact same story on fanfiction.net except it is for Rurouni Kenshin's Aoshi and Misao. My Name's the same there if you want to read that.
