Chapter 4

Ok some of u had some questions in which I'm about to answer, One Kagome is NOT claimed by either of the …Boys, she is BONDED to them…there is a difference! There may or may not be a love triangle here, though currently Kagome has to choose ( I have up to 9 chapters typed ) Kagome may have some control over the guys in later chapters but no more control then they have over her. ^_^ I'd answer ur other questions but they're a secret ^_~

"If you want me to come with you then you will take him as well." Kagome said in a tone that was not to be argued with. Kouga scowled, he opened his mouth to tell her that he could take her by herself whether she liked it or not but paused. Truth was that he actually felt bad for the little runt of a human, `Damn!' he cursed at himself. He was getting too soft for comfort.

"Fine." Kouga said lowly as he turned away. "We better get going before Sesshoumaru comes." He grumbled as he began to walk away down the path that led away from camp. Silently the two humans followed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kagome walked along the dirt path, moonlight streamed through the trees branches and highlighted her hair with its soft glow. Shippo walked next to her, his small hand wrapped tightly in hers, he walked with eyes half focused, it was quite obvious that the boy was tired, he stumbled often and his head lolled to the side every once in a while. Kagome could sense his weariness.
"We need to stop." Kagome said to the back of Kouga, who marched steadily on in front of her.
"We are not stopping!" Kouga growled lowly, they had wasted enough time as it was.
Kagome stopped dead in her tracks, Kouga turned, expecting to see the usual defiant and scowling girl but what he saw shocked him to no end. Kagome stood in the path kneeling down besides Shippo who wobbled on his feet, swaying back and forth. Worry creased her brow and she looked up at Kouga with pleading eyes.
"Please" she whispered. Her brown eyes begging. Kouga looked at her stunned that she was actually begging him to stop, then he scowled.
"I told you…" he said trying to sound harsh, but when he saw the look in t he girls eyes he let out a reluctant sigh and marched over to the two humans. With one swift movement he swept Shippo up in his arms and cradled him, much like one would a baby. He then began his fast walk down the path.
A slight smile graced Kagome's lips as she watched Kouga's retreating form. `He acts all tough but deep down inside he's sensitive.' Kagome thought amused. She let out a soft sigh and followed the two, the moonlight at her heels.
"Hurry up!" Kouga called over his shoulder at the girl behind him, `Why are humans so slow?' He asked himself for the thousandth time that day. A small yawn escaped the lips of the child he held in his arms and he looked down to see green eyes staring at him in awe.
"Gah!" The boy screamed as he pushed himself away from Kouga onto the ground. Shippo scuttled backwards his green eyes wide in his small face. Kouga smirked at the look of shock that crossed the boy's features; he loved seeing fear and shock in human's eyes when they looked at him. A fierce animalistic burn crept into the back of Kouga's mind as he slowly edged toward the boy, a raw hunger that was centuries old filled him and he crept menacingly toward the wide eyed Shippo. Kouga's attention was ripped back to the present when he felt a soft blow to his arm. He looked up into brown eyes that were filled with anything BUT fear.
"You jerk! Why'd you drop him like that! He's still recovering from yesterday!" Kagome yelled, her small hands were propped on her hips as she glared at the surprised Kouga.
"What are you talking about the little runt jumped out of my arms!" Kouga growled his blue eyes gleaming.
"Well you didn't have to glare at him like that! It looked like you were going to pounce on him or something!" Kagome countered, as she glared angrily at the demon in front of her.
Kouga paused, he HAD been staring at the small boy, sometimes his animal side took over and he was compelled to do things that normally he wouldn't do, but it was strange, no one had been able to stop him before…
Kagome huffed and turned from Kouga to help Shippo up off the ground. The poor boy was scared out of his wits. His green eyes were wide in fear as he clutched Kagome's hand.
"Are you okay Shippo?" Kagome asked ruffling the small boy's hair with her hand. Shippo nodded dumbly, his green eyes transfixed on the demon before him, it would be a long time before he turned his back on Kouga again.
Kouga growled, he didn't like the looks he was getting from Kagome and Shippo, they were both glaring at him with looks he couldn't quite place.
"That's it!" He said lowly, throwing his hands up into the air. He walked over to Kagome and in one fluid motion threw her over his shoulder, while he gripped Shippo firmly around the waist.
"What the…Put me down NOW!" Kagome shouted as she squirmed on his shoulder. Shippo kicked frantically in his other arms, muffled grunts escaped the boy's lips.
"Shut up the both of you!" Kouga yelled his blue eyes blazing. "You are too slow, I'm just getting us there faster." And with that they burst of in a blast of speed. Colors whipped and blurred before Kagome's eyes, her small hands fisted on Kouga's armor and she closed her eyes as the trees blended into one green blur. `I think I'm going to be sick…' Kagome moaned.
They came to a halt in front of a large castle. Kagome gasped at the beauty before her. It was made of white sandstone and had to be at least six stories high. Two towers stood at either end of the castle and green vines snaked their way up them. The castle was surrounded by a solid outer wall made of a pale colored stones, and a small moat stood in front of a draw bridge that looked like it hadn't been used in years. `Why would a demon need a draw bridge anyway?' Kagome thought absently as her eyes roved over the place in awe. Suddenly Kagome realized she was still on Kouga's shoulder and began to squirm from the indecency of it all. Her black dress had ridden up to the point were she showed a little more leg than was necessary.
"Put me down!" Kagome said lowly as she wiggled around on Kouga's shoulder trying to get free. Kouga smirked and dropped her so that she landed flat on her butt. Kagome's brown eyes flashed in anger and she glared at Kouga with a pot on her lips.
"What was that for!?" She asked tints of anger in her voice.
"You wanted to be put down so I put you down." Kouga shrugged and started to walk away -still carrying Shippo by the waist. Kagome sighed and got to her feet.
"Stupid demons." She muttered under her breath as she followed Kouga's retreating form…once again.
"I heard that!" Kouga shouted from up ahead, taking Kagome by surprise. `Wow he has really good ears.' She thought silently to herself as she crossed the drawbridge and entered the castle's grounds. What she saw took her breath away. There were acres of plush green grass. A stone statue of a great dog stood in the middle of a large fountain. The dog was humongous and made of white marble. Every little detail was carved to perfection and it took Kagome's breath away.
"Wow…"Kagome whispered as he eyes took in every detail around her. There was a cobble stoned road, that was big enough to fit 6 carriages side by side, that wound its way up to the castle entrance. There were gardens that held thousands upon thousands of beautiful flowers, each unique in its own way. Behind the castle was a small lake by what appeared to be a patio. Kagome sighed as she took all of this in.
C'mon already! Kouga called to the stunned Kagome the limp form of Shippo still held in his arms. `Shippo must've have passed out' Kagome thought with a slight frown of worry.
"I'm coming! Why are you in such a hurry anyway?"
"Because he said he would have you back by day break." A cool voice whispered in her ear. Kagome gasped and spun around to come face to face with Sesshoumaru.
"You really shouldn't do that you know, it's quite rude!" Kagome said breathlessly as she glared at Sesshoumaru. Sesshoumaru didn't respond to Kagome's comment and stalked over to Kouga who was looking quite amused.
"It seems you brought home one more than I was expecting" Sesshoumaru said coolly, glancing at the limp Shippo Kouga held in his arms.
Kouga shrugged. "He's Kagome's" Kouga said simply with a slight nod in Kagome's direction. Sesshoumaru scowled, or what would have been a scowl for him anyway.
"Since when do servants have servants?" Sesshoumaru questioned almost icily.
Kagome stepped forward and propped her hands on her hips.
"I thought we've already been through this! I am NOT a slave or servant or something that BELONGS to you, nor will I ever be." She snapped as her temper rose to its limits.
"And seeing that you two can speak each other's languages perfectly, I don't see any point in me being here so if you will excuse me and Shippo, WE are leaving." Kagome said decisively as she marched over to Kouga to get Shippo.
Kouga gaped at Kagome `This girl never ceases to amaze me' he thought in silent wonder. But before Kagome could even reach Kouga A clawed hand wrapped around her wrist and she spun around to face Sesshoumaru, his cold golden eyes leered at her and she could see the anger that boiled in his veins. And to Kagome's utter surprise she could…feel it.
"Trust me Human" Sesshoumaru sneered "If I did not need you, you would be dead long ago." His golden eyes held a promise in them that made Kagome shiver. Kagome winced as blood trailed down her wrist to fall on the ground at her feet. It was taking all her self control to keep herself from crying out and striking the demon lord.
"Let me go." Kagome said through clenched teeth, her brown eyes stared unblinkingly into Sesshoumaru's golden ones. Sesshoumaru complied and he let Kagome go before he turned on his heel and walked away.
"Jaken!" he called before he entered the castle doors. A small toad looking creature scurried out from the castle and bowed low t Sesshoumaru.
"Aye m'lord Sesshoumaru." He said in a craggily voice that made Kagome wince. Sesshoumaru said something in a low voice to Jaken. Jaken bowed again to Sesshoumaru and with a slight frown on his face he replied. "As you wish Lord Sesshoumaru." With that Sesshoumaru entered the castle and beckoned Kouga to come. Kouga nodded and turned to Kagome, his blue eyes bright with mischief.
"Here." He said handing Shippo to Kagome. Kagome cradled Shippo in her arms and watched as Kouga marched away after Sesshoumaru. `Does that mean I can go now?' Kagome thought as she shifted her weight so that she could hold Shippo better.
"You there, girl, come with me." The small toad like Jaken called from by the castle's entrance. Kagome looked at Jaken warily and let out a small sigh as she walked toward the small toad. `Why am I doing this?' She wondered as she followed the toad like creature into the castle, Shippo still cradled in her arms.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~

Kagome followed Jaken through a series of hallways and up several flights of stairs, each room as brilliant as the last. If Kagome thought the castle was beautiful from the outside then she didn't know what she was missing on the inside. Each room in the castle was elaborately decorated. Silk hangings were placed on the walls of the hallways and Kagome became breathless as she followed Jaken through the corridors and around the palace. Kagome was so busy taking in the sights around her that she ran right into Jaken almost tripping over him.

"Watch it human!" the toad demon leered as he picked himself off the floor. Kagome held back the temptation to stomp on his little green head and instead looked at were they had stopped. Kagome stood in front of two wide white doors enamored in gold. Pictures of demons and animals were carved into the door with such precision that Kagome felt like she was reading a story, or watching it take place.

"This will be your room for the time being, as my lord Sesshoumaru wishes it." Jaken croaked as he pushed back the doors.

The two doors swung open to reveal a large bedroom. Centered against the middle of the wall was a large bed at least seven feet wide. Light green sheets adorned the bed and dark green hangings were placed on the wall. In the center of the room was a large throw rug, but from a distance Kagome could tell that the rug was very expensive. A large fire place was to her left. By the fire place there were two velvet green chairs and a small wooden table that looked to be very old. There was a door by the bed that led to a balcony and another door by the fire place. `Wonder where that leads to' Kagome thought in awe.

"You are to wait in here till m'lord comes to get you." Jaken sneered at Kagome. "And you better not break anything you retched human!" Jaken said with disgust. Kagome turned around to give the little toad the beating of his life only to have the door slammed in her face.

"Why that little..." Kagome cursed under her breath.

"K-Kagome? Where are we?" Shippo asked as he looked up at her with tired eyes. Kagome smiled down at the little boy she held in her arms.

"Don't worry about it," she said as she walked over to the bed and placed him down gently. `Go back to sleep." She whispered as she pulled the covers over the sleeping boy's frame. Shippo nodded, he needed no further urging as he fell asleep. Kagome sighed as she walked over to the fireplace and sat in one of the chairs. She brought her knees to her chest and curled up in the giant chair.

"I wonder what's going to happen to us next…" Kagome sighed as she stared blankly into the empty fireplace. A little while later she fell asleep.
