Summary: Kagome used to be a popular person, that is, until Kouga broke her heart. She has given up on love or even liking anybody. Now Kagome is unpopular and her twin sister, Kikyo, is a very popular person and she teases and makes fun of her. Now that they are in High school, a guy catches her eye. He is the new guy at school. Inuyasha. But does Inuyasha start to like her? Will he try to teach her that not all guys are jerks? Will he win her heart?

Don't give up on guys

Kagome couldn't take it. It all happened to fast, so sudden. And it ended the same way. Falling to her knees in front of the shrine, she let go of all of the control that she had. Her arms wrapped around herself and she let her tears fall out of her, hoping they would wash away the pain. Hoping she would go numb.

 

It didn't make sense. Inuyasha had this Kikyo, his love. Why did he still hold her heart? Why did he kiss her when he was with Kikyo? The whimper that escaped her was choked, painful. “Heh…Perfect. The only thing now that needs to happen, is that it needs to rain…” Just as Kagome finished her sentence, something hit her nose. She looked up at the sky, glaring somewhat as it began to down pour. She stood slowly for it had felt as though someone, or something didn't want her to stand. She wouldn't let it win, no sir. Once she was up, She glared at the sky and screamed. Finally, something warm wrapped themselves around her. Finally…

“Please, Kags!” A voice pleaded, hands shaking her. Her eyes fluttered a few times then finally open. It took a few seconds before her eyes adjusted to the light and when they did, she noticed that Kikyo was shaking her. Kagome bolted up, her arms circling her sister as the sobs came down. She couldn't tell her what had happened. They would brake up. . . And Kagome new that Kikyo did love Inuyasha. She couldn't do that to her sister.

 

“Calm down, Kagome. What's wrong? Talk to me,” Kikyo said softly, smoothing her little sister's hair back. “I'm here for you…”

 

With a few sniffles, Kagome sat back and looked at Kikyo. “Kikyo…how much do you love Inuyasha?” As soon as his name left her lips, Kagome winced somewhat as Kikyo smiled widely and blushed.

 

“Well…I love him…With all of my heart,” Kikyo answered, still smoothing Kagome's hair. Her hand, then, paused. Kikyo stared at her sister with a hard stare, confusion and wonder dancing in them. “Did he do something to you?”

 

“Well…” Kagome paused, looking down. She tired to look up at her sister but found out that she couldn't. She opened her mouth, and tired to answer, but nothing came out. All she could do was a soft nod as the tears silently fell down her cheeks.

 

“Oh, Kagome! What did he do?” She asked, putting her hands on Kagome's cheeks, making her look at her. Her eyes, they sparkled so…caringly. Something Kagome had not seen in a long time.

 

“H-he…kissed me,” Kagome whispered softly, before she shook her head. “Can I be alone for a bit? I don't really want to talk right now,” She smiled sadly before she turned over in the bed and closed her eyes. Kikyo smiled softly and nodded, getting up and leaving her sister's room.

Inuyasha rushed to the door as it rung, hoping that it was Kagome so that he could say he was sorry or maybe even, he hoped that she wanted another kiss from him. A grin fought its way to his lips, but he won. He didn't want to seem to…happy. He quickly opened the door and gasped at was at the door. Kikyo.

 

A very pissed Kikyo stared at her boyfriend, soon ex-boyfriend. He looked surprised to see her. He shouldn't be. “Inuyasha.”

 

Inuyasha gulped and nodded, his face looking as guilt as much as it could. “Yes…Kikyo?” He said softly, moving over so that she could come in. She took off her shoes and walked over to the couch, sitting down. She patted next to her. He nodded and sat down next to her.

 

The worst silence fell over them, making Inuyasha fidget. “Ahem…Do you want something to drink? I'm going to get something to drink…” Inuyasha began to stand but something stopped him. He looked at Kikyo and blinked.

 

“You kissed my sister.”

 

Inuyasha's eyes went wide as he blushed and frowned, looking down somewhat. “Well…I…” He tired to make up a lie, he tired to say something…but he couldn't. He couldn't lie to her. “Yes,”

 

“Why?” Kikyo asked, staring at him. At least he didn't lie about it. He said that he did.

 

“I don't know…Kouga had tired to hurt her…and…I couldn't help my self.” He frowned at himself and looked around the room. “I'm sorry,”

 

“Sorry won't do anything.” Kikyo stated, glaring at him coldly. “It can't change the past and it can't make my little sister stop crying.” After that, Kikyo stood. What happened next surprised Inuyasha. It started as a soft tingle then flamed into a huge pain. He lifted his hand to his cheek, eyes wide, staring at Kikyo. She had slapped him. “Just…Stay away from me and my sister for a bit.” With that, Kikyo left.

Inuyasha sat on his bed, mind racing. It just didn't make sense. He had thought that Kagome liked him. But if she did, wouldn't she have kissed him back? Or maybe not even be crying? He sighed, rolled over and closed his eyes. This was stupid. This was wrong. This was…

 

Love.

Kagome knew she couldn't stay in her room for the rest of her life. But she was trying. It wasn't really working either. With Kikyo always asking her to come out and talk with her and Sango always calling, she wasn't having any alone time. Which is what she wanted and needed…
