Whispers by Evanescence

Catch me as I fall

Say you're here and it's all over now

Speaking to the atmosphere

No one's here and i fall into myself

This truth drives me into madness

I know I can stop the pain

If I will it all away

Don't turn away

Don't give in to the pain

Don't try to hide

Though they're screaming your name

Don't close your eyes

God knows what lies behind them

Don't turn out the light

Never sleep never die

I'm frightened by what I see

But somehow I know that

There's much more to come

Immobilized by my fear

And soon to be blinded by tears

I can stop the pain if i will it all away

Don't turn away

Don't give in to the pain

Don't try to hide

Though they're screaming your name

Don't close your eyes

God knows what lies behind them

Don't turn out the light

Never sleep never die

Fallen angels at my feet

Whispered voices at my ear

Death before my eyes

Lying next to me I fear

She beckons me shall I give in

Upon my end shall I begin

Forsaking all I've fallen

For I rise to meet the end

Aliya sighed as she ran her fingers through her long brown hair. She placed her hands on the wall of her balcony and stared out across the gorgeous land of the Inu-Daisho lord. She bit her bottom lip, deep in thought, remembering everything that had happened.

In the beginning she thought that she knew what she wanted out of life. On the other side of the well, her life was filled with nothing but sadness. Her parents had abandoned her, leaving her to the lecherous hands of her uncle and alchololic cousin.

Just when she thought that she would never find an escape she stumbled upon the Bone Eater's Well and fell into a life she didnt want. She found herself trapped in the past unable to return to her time.
Aliya then met the inu-hanyou, Inuyasha. She then thought that finally, FINALLY she could be happy and maybe recieve the love that she craved all her life but she then found out that it was all a lie.

Inuyasha had hid a terrible secret from her. One that had shattered her trust in him. In a previous life, Aliya had been the great demon Goddess Aeiru, Gaurdian of the Waters. Aeiru had been the unclaimed mate of Inuyasha's greatest enemy, the demon Naraku. When he had discovered the link between the two, the hanyou had finally found a way to hurt his enemy.

Claiming the innocence of Aeiru for his-self, the hanyou used her caring nature against her. When he had taunted Naraku with taking Aeiru's virginity, he had started a chain of events that ended in the death of the kind-hearted demon. Although he had felt regret in doing what he did, that did not change the fact that he had destroyed an innocent for something they had no hand in.

Now Aliya found herself with the Great Inu-Daisho Lord, Sesshomaru. Someone whom she had never expected to care for and yet she found herself yearning for his prescence. She loved him and she knew it. Aliya slid her hands into the sleeves of her seventeen layered kimono.

She stood in the room that she now shared with the Great Inu-Daisho, Sesshomaru. Her long dark brown hair fell neatly over her shoulders and back. Looking down at the ground she saw that her feet had disappeared under the hem of her kimonos. The young woman ran her fingers gingerly over the soft silky material. A gentle smile spread across her beautiful features.

This was something that she had never thought was possible. She was happy... genuinely happy. Sesshomaru made her feel at peace with everything. Although he never outwardly expressed any emotion other than contempt and the occasional lustful stare she knew that he cared for her as she had grown to realize herself that she cared for him. Turning her face towards the doorway, she found herself wondering what he was doing. Is he thinking about me? she thought.

Aliya chuckled to herself at the silliness of the thought. She began to walk down the hall in her own little world when she heard a voice that made her heart freeze. "Now, now Sesshomaru... there is no need for all this hostility." Aliya brought her hand to her chest feeling as if her heart had frozen. No... it cant be... how did he manage to find me? she said. She stepped back, trying to run when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

The young woman turned to see Naraku's eyes staring down at her coldly. He quickly grabbed her neck and dragged her into the room. "Hiding something from me, Sesshomaru?" he growled, holding her out for the Demon Lord to see.

Sesshomaru turned his golden eyes to look at what Naraku was speaking of when he saw Aliya grasping at the demon's wrists. For a split second his amber eyes burned a vibrant blood red color before disappearing.

"Put... her... down, Naraku," he said, trying to keep his voice under control. Naraku raised his red eyes towards Sesshomaru. They narrowed. "How do you know this... human, Sesshomaru? I didn't know you bedded a pathetic mortal..." he hissed.

Aliya cringed at the sound of the venom in his voice. She knew what was happening. Naraku could smell the Inu-Daisho on her and was jealous. She swallowed as she found herself staring into his eyes.

Suddenly Sesshomaru had Naraku by the back of his yukata and had thrown him against the wall. Aliya's body crumbled to the ground. She scrambled away from the two demons, watching them in fear. Naraku glared at the Inu-Daisho, his upper lip curling into a snarl.

"Do not trouble yourself on her, Naraku. How I know her and what she is doing here is none of your concern. Now... get out of here... before I rip open your throat," Sesshomaru kept his voice eerily calm.

Naraku's lips curved into a smirk. "Of course Sesshomaru..." The demon shifted his eyes towards her and Aliya shuddered under his intense gaze. Although it last for a mere second, she felt the volumnes it was saying to her. He disappeared into his purple miasma leaving the Inu-Daisho staring down at the Hanyou.

Sesshomaru approached Aliya calmly, watching her steadily as he reached out and grabbed her arm. Pulling her to him, her held her against his chest staring down at her. Aliya raised her eyes and stared into Sesshomaru's cold golden eyes.

She felt as if her heart... her very soul was imprisoned within them. They held her in their captivating gaze causing her to become lost to the iron-like grip he had on her arm. "Sesshomaru..." she breathed but her words were halted by his lips hungrily claiming hers. Aliya tried to return the kiss but the Inu-Daisho dominated her lips. After a few minutes, he broke the kiss and stared down at her.

"You will be mine..." he said, his voice thick with lust. Aliya sucked in air through her open mouth unable to say anything. Sesshomaru stared down at her and ran his thumb over the soft skin of her neck, staring at it as if in a trance. He leaned downward, attaching his mouth to her neck. He sucked on it hungrily, drawing the flesh into his hot mouth as he nipped and nibbled at it.

Aliya shuddered against his body. "Sess-sesshomaru..." she whispered. The Inu-Daisho didn't seem to hear her as he continued to suckle her neck. The hanyou closed her eyes and moaned as she gripped his shoulders tightly. She suddenly felt something overcome her and her eyes snapped open. She pushed him and looked up.

"Aliya..." Sesshomaru breathed. "I need... to think... this over, Sesshomaru," Aliya said. The Inu-Daisho watched her with those cold golden eyes. "How long?" he asked her. Aliya dropped her gaze and turned her face away trying to think of a reasonable answer. "Take as long as you wish..." he said as he took her chin in his fingers and turned her face towards his. "Do not... take too long..."

The Inu-Daisho turned away from her allowing Aliya to walk out of the room. Once she had gotten a couple of feet away from Sesshomaru's study, she ran to their room. She knew. She knew now that she couldn't stay with Sesshomaru. As much as she loved him, she knew that now that Naraku knew where she was that he would never allow her to stay with the Youkai lord.

Grabbing a pillowcase, she ran to the kitchens and loaded it with food. Ignoring the pain she felt and the knot in her stomach, Aliya continued to put as much as she could in the case. Once it was filled she ran from the kitchens out the front doors of the palace.

Sesshomaru stared out of the window and watched as Aliya disappeared into the forest. He gripped the windowsill tightly in his hands until it snapped. Every muscle in his body screamed for him to go after her and drag her back to the palace but he knew that whatever was going through her mind, she needed to sort out.

Inuyasha kicked at the dirt of his camp. To his left, Koga was snoring loudly after they had spent many days pursuing demons and saving human villages from attack. It had been so long since he had last seen Aliya and yet the young woman had never left his mind. He would have given anything to feel her in his arms again and to be able to finally tell her how he felt then as well as he felt for her now.

Sitting down, he pressed his back against the tree behind him and stared into the diming light of the camp fire. Aliya... when will our paths cross again? the inu-hanyou thought as sleep overcame him at last.
