Chapter 1:

Tears and a New Home

A/n: Ok I know a few days ago(yesterday) was update day but I didn't have enough time so I changed it 2 like Wednesday or Thursday or something.

“Mama slow down!” Kagome wailed. Mrs. Higurashi was speeding down the road with Kagome and jii-chan in the car because she was late picking Souta up for school. “Mama please! Just call his school!” Kagome cried once again, but her mom didn't stop. She was half a mile away from a green light she saw in the distance, so she sped up and tried to make it.

 

“Gotta make the light, Kagome.”

 

Kagome's vision clouded “Oh Kami you're gonna…”

 

 

CRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kagome's eyes flashed open. She tried to sit up but she couldn't. She tried to talk but her voice was gone. All she heard was a loud beep slowing, and slowing, and then it held for a while.

 

“Well looks like she's dead.” Said a man in a white lab coat.

 

What? Who's dead? Kagome thought, trying to remember what had happened earlier. Kagome felt sick to her stomach. The only she besides her was her mom….OH NO!!!

 

“I see you're awake.” The same man who spoke before said to her. “Um, yeah, who died?” Kagome asked eagerly, her heart pounding in her chest.

 

“A lady named Chimu Higurashi,” he paused. “Did you know her?” Kagome was blank and said nothing but the pain in her eyes was visible. “Did you know her?” He asked again. “Y-yeah. My mom.” I guess jii-chan died too. He probably had a heart attack before we even crashed. Kagome realized she was mobile again and sat up. I'll live my life alone, without school, without my friends, just alone. Oh yeah, Souta too. We'll live in the feudal era. Kagome ran out of the door to the room and headed for the elevator.

Souta pounded his mom's cell phone number into his house phone. Hello, this is Chimu Higurashi. I'm not here so please leave a brief message and I'll get back to you. Goodbye.

 

Souta plopped down on the couch and then the door knob twisted. The door opened and Kagome ran into the house and pulled Souta into a tight embrace. “Where've you been?!” Souta yelled. “No time. Pack your things. We're moving.” Souta looked puzzled. “Where's mom and Jii-chan?” Kagome acted like she didn't hear him. “C'mon. We're moving to the feudal era.” Souta's eyes widened. “WHAT?”

Kagome dragged Souta and Buyo out to the well against their will. “Please sis! Tell me what happened to mom and jii-chan!” Kagome shook her head and they dropped into the well.

 

“Oi, Kagome, why'd you bring your brother?” Inuyasha asked confusedly. “We moved here. No more pit stops to go take tests. No more. I live here now.” Sango and Miroku headed towards them on Kirara.

 

“Hey Kagome, who's he?!” Sango yelled to her friend. “Lady Kagome, who's this you've brought along?” Miroku asked more politely. “It's my brother, Souta.” Sango, Miroku and Inuyasha were still puzzled. “We live here now.”

 

Inuyasha replied with, “What about your mom and Jii-chan?” Kagome bursted into tears. “What happened?” Sango asked, moving closer to Kagome. “I'll explain it later.” Kagome quickly wiped up her tears and then walked to Keade's hut. “Wait Kagome,” Sango said. “Why don't we discuss this over a hot spring?” Miroku raised an eyebrow and turned to Inuyasha. “Don't they discuss everything over a hot spring?” Kagome nodded as she grabbed her bag and headed onto Kirara with Sango.

 

With the girls gone, Inuyasha asked Souta, “Hey kid, what happened? Why'd you and Kagome move here?” Miroku walked over to them so he could know too. “I don't know. Kagome just came home and said we were moving here.”

“So Kagome, what happened?” Sango asked as she let her hair down and soaked in the hot water. “They died, all of them.” That hit Sango really hard. “Talk to me about it because I'm going through your pain.” Kagome sank her head under the water for a while and when she didn't come up was when Sango got worried.
