CHAPTER 26: HOW MANY SECRETS DO YOU HAVE?!

Kagome shifted and stretched some. She paused when she felt firm muscle against her back and a strong limb wrapped her breasts, though not uncomfortably. With her groggy mind hazed, she snuggled closer to it. Hell, it was big and warm and it felt good. She went back to sleep for another hour but woke up grudgingly as a sunbeam hit her eyes. She squinted as she open them and tried to snuggle into some shade, but something was blocking. It shifted at her movement and she stiffened for second. The limb around her tightened its hold and she relaxed into it. She smiled secretly to her self. She remembered last night, who wouldn't? But she had one thing to say about it. Damn.

She curled her back against Inuyasha's nice comfy back and closed her eyes in an attempt to slip into abyss again. But someone had woken when she moved and he had other plans. Kagome sighed as she felt Inuyasha's nose bury in her hair and nuzzle her neck. It was followed by butterfly kisses trailing over her neck and juncture of her shoulder. She squirmed further into him and his hand spread over her stomach. She reached up behind her and flicked one of his ears with a finger, and then rubbed it. She felt his chest rumble with the growled purr he emitted, his hot breath sighing on her ear. His fingers twitched on her stomach.

"Kagome…" his tone warning her if she didn't stop.

"Inuyasha," she smarted and rubbed harder. His lips pulled back in pleasure and he jerked her to his chest, teeth scraping the back of her neck. Her eyes rolled slightly and she moaned.

The phone rang.

Kagome stopped her rubbing and Inuyasha his torture and they groaned in unison. The shrill ring screamed in their ears.

"We could always let it go," Inuyasha said hopefully. She snorted.

"We could, but what if it was my mother?"

He paused, "good point."

Releasing a sigh, he rolled over and sat to get up. She rolled over to and grabbed the sheet to her chest. He got up and stumbled over to the table with the blasted phone. Her brow rose. That was one tight ass.

He picked it up and held it to his head, "hello?" his voice ground out tiredly, rubbing sleep from one eye. But then his ears perked up and he turned to look at Kagome. He mouthed; `mom' and she nodded, holding out her hand for the phone. She sighed. Here we go.

He handed it to her and she gave him a reassuring wink. "Mom?" she sighed, sounding like she just woke at that exact moment.

"Kagome, what are you doing at Inuyasha's?" her mother tart words struck a nerve.

"I was sleeping," Kagome grumbled.

"Oh really? And why exactly are you in Inuyasha's room? And don't lie to me, he couldn't have gotten to a guest room in the short time I called."

"I didn't know it was a crime to pass out on my boyfriend's bed," Kagome retorted.

"Kagome, what happened?" her mother demanded, growing impatient.

Kagome sighed again. "I know you said to watch how much I drank, but sort of lost count of the glasses. Before I knew it, I was out cold in Inuyasha's bed. I'm sorry mom, I know I shouldn't have gotten drunk, but it was new years…"

"Kagome," her mother groaned, "you promised me you wouldn't drink too much. What about calling me? Inuyasha could have called me to let me know you were staying."

"Trust me mom, he was in no better condition," she gave Inuyasha a wink and pink tinted his cheeks.

"Kagome! Why do you do this sometimes?"

"Mom! Please don't yell, hangovers aren't very pleasant," Kagome faked a pained groan and sigh.

"Sorry dear. When will you be home?"

"After a few hours more sleep."

"Kagome…"her mother warned.

"Don't worry, I'll be fresh and cheery by the time I'm home. Bye." Kagome pressed the phone off and tossed it to Inuyasha who hung it up. He gave her a grin.

"You should be an actor," Inuyasha commented as he sat on the bed and traced a thigh.

"Practice my fascinated pupil, and you may learn the art of avoiding parents."

His face sobered just a bit and Kagome realized what she just said. "Inuyasha, I am so sorry-"

"Don't worry about it, besides it fun to watch you do it. But Kagome…um…well…"

"Yeah…" she emphasized.

"Kagome, we didn't use protection last night, and well… what if-"

"Got it covered. I use birth control."

He raised a brow, "and you're using before you…why?"

"Do you realize how troublesome being a woman is? It helps control my period so I don't bleed as much, that's why I don't have it most of the time. But mom says not to use it too much otherwise there might be side effects in there future." (Its true, my teacher told us. And the side effects my friends told me)

He sighed in relief. "Whew, I thought we were going to have to worry until proven wrong."

"Nope," she traced a finger up his sinewy arm, watching as the goose flesh rose. She liked his skin; it was smooth and tanned almost naturally. She wondered what it tasted like.

"Well, we have a few hours. What do you want to do?"

His eyes turned dark, sending chills up her spine. "I could think I something."

She inched closer, her face stopping inches from his. "Oh really?"

" Yeah," he brushed the tip of his nose against hers, coming ever so closer. "How does a bath sound?"

Confused for second, she pulled back but caught his saucy grin, bringing her attention to his smooth lips. "Depends, are we that dirty?"

His grin turned wicked, "maybe we could find out."

He scooped her up into his arms and she screamed then laughed, heading towards the bathroom. The next oh…hour and a half was spent in a sunken tub and hot water. They quickly found out how washing each other could become…slippery. And Kagome found out how becoming hot water was. Not to mention that his skin was a tantalizing salty flavor.

Finally dressed, Kagome picked up the phone while Inuyasha went in search of something to eat. Smugly she dialed Sango's house, smiling when a sleepy Sango came on.

"Do you have any idea what time it is?" Sango grumbled.

Kagome checked the clock, "2:30 in the afternoon?"

"Exactly. So what was so important that you have to wake me up early?" Sango yawned and stretched her back.

"Just wanted to know how you're new years was," Kagome answered, trying to hold back giggles.

"Great, Miroku got shitfaced and that was fun. Right now he should be waking up to find himself very pretty right now," Sango chuckled to herself, remembering how she took advantage of her boyfriend passing out and she had some …interesting fun with her cosmetics. "How was yours?"

"Oh, it was…new, and continued this morning."

"Huh?"

Kagome only grinned and bit her lip while Sango raised a brow at her silence. "Kagome, what did you guys do?"

Silence. Pause. "Can you take a guess?"

Sango crossed her brows, confused. She could hear Kagome giggling over the phone. What would be so funny that she was giggling? And did they do exactly? Damn it, what could possibly be so…Sango gasped and her eyes went wide. "Kagome…you didn't."

"Didn't what?"

"I mean you guys didn't…wait wait wait…did you…oh my god, you did! You little slut! That's it, you're coming over right now giving me every juicy detail that you can squeeze from your brain. Wait, did you say continued this morning? Kagome you skank! My house now!"

And at that moment, a certain unfortunate boyfriend woke up with a hangover and a very terrifying sight in the mirror.

Back to school, great. Kagome tapped her pencil on her notebook, Mr. Myouga not quite getting her attention. She sighed as he asked them to take out their notebooks for notes. Half listening and writing things down she didn't even know, she let her mind wander. She smirked. Man, Sango had been hysterical when Kagome told her about her new years. Hey, at least she gave her friend some advice, which Sango secretly took to mind. Then Miroku had arrived in a very angered state, trace of make up still on his face. This caused the girls to break down into laughter, occasionally pointing at him. It had taken him three days to forgive Sango, humiliated beyond words. Inuyasha had been very supportive, if you count hints and remarks as supportive.

Inuyasha. God must have blessed her or something, cause that boy was popping into her head at odd moments, reminding her that the seemingly innocent looks he gave her were hidden messages of love and desire. She felt a chill, and smiled. She had to admit, when he told her that that was his first time, she had almost collapsed in shock. He had to be kidding cause that boy was more talented than a porn star, and she should know cause the sleepovers at Sango's weren't always what they seemed. And she had him all to herself. She wondered what he was doing now.

She looked to the empty seat beside her. He was absent for some odd reason. She had been pondering this for some time, ever since she started with him. At least once a month he was absent for one or two days, claming sick, but when he acme back he was fine. And she found it hard to believe a hanyou sick with his blood. When she asked Miroku, he was just as clueless as her. For the time being she had accepted it to begin, shrugging it off as something he did. But ever since a few weeks ago since their love life began, she was beginning to have doubts. Like she said before, she was shocked when he said he was a virgin, and she didn't want to question him, but how could he know how to hit all the right spots the first time and not be experienced? She narrowed her eyes coldly at the seat. She wasn't the suspicious type but this was just too fishy. Something's going on, she could feel it.

The bell rang, signaling the next class. The rest of the day continued like this, her worry growing as her mind took a turn for the worst. What if he was seeing someone else? You know just a fling, a release? If he was, he had hell to pay. No one went behind her back and lived to tell the tale. Gathering her books form her locker, she speed walked out the doors, not bothering to wait for her friends. She wasn't taking the bus today.

She walked a couple blocks into the city instead, and she paused at a curb to check her money. Good just enough for a cab. She saw the yellow car go by and signaled it down. She got in and told the driver where to go.

"That's some fancy neighbor hood, you live there?" he asked while pulling away.

"No my boyfriend does."

"You're one lucky girl."

She didn't respond, preferring the dark thought of her imagination. She set her jaw. If she acme and found something she didn't like, he was so going to pay hell. They pulled up in front of the iron gates and she paid the man. Shifting her bag, she set her face flat and rung the intercom. The cameras recognized her, and she was buzzed in. she stalked up the driveway and opened the door herself. Up the stairs and down the hall, she came upon his door. She knocked and was greeted by silence. She knocked again.

"Who is it?" she heard him, and the sheets of his bed shift. She tucked her tongue in her cheek. Oh hell no.

"Its me, let me in," she said coldly, crossing her arms.

"Kagome? Uh, this really isn't a good time," he said, his bed shifting again and she guessed he got up.

She gritted her teeth. "Oh really? And why is that?"

"Uh…nothing really, I don't feel myself today. Not feeling too good."

Oh bullshit. "You're sick? Well let me in and I'll make sure you're all right."

"No that's okay, you don't have to come in."

Her mouth hung open. The nerve! "Inuyasha, I know you not sick. Let me in."

"I'm serious Kagome you don't want to do that."

She grabbed the handle and turned it, opening the door, "let me be the judge of…"

She trailed off as she looked around. It was dark, not a single light on and the sun n the hall wasn't helping. She squinted and whirled around she heard him dash for the bathroom and slam the door. She gasped and growled. The nerve of the jerk! What in the world is he hiding! "Inuyasha!"

She thumped the door, anger rising. "Inuyasha open the door, right now."

"Just go away Kagome, I don't want you to see me."

"All right! I've had enough of your bullshit! I'm not leaving this spot till you open that door and face my wrath."

"Wrath? Why the hell are you angry?" came his uncertain voice.

"Cause your acting guilty and hiding something! Inuyasha, you promised me no more secrets!"

"You don't understand Kagome." His quiet voice irked her, but at the same time worried her. Yes he was acting guilty, and hiding something, but maybe it wasn't what she thought it was. Well, maybe it would get him out of the bathroom.

"Inuyasha, is somebody in there with you? I can't believe you! How could you do this?!" she stomped her feet, making them get softer as she pretended to stormed away.

"Wait! Kagome its not what you think!" the bathroom door was flung open, lights on, and he almost collided into her. She looked up and gasped.

"Oh…my god. Inuyasha, what happened?"

No longer was he the hanyou she knew, but a black haired boy with panicked violet eyes. His claws were gone and his ears were no longer there. He was normal, human. But a stranger to her. He looked away a shamed, tensing his fists. He had hoped she wouldn't know this soon. Apprehensive, she took a gentle hand and turned his face to her. His eyes held shame and sorrow, and he leaned his head into her hand sadly. She smoothed his bangs with her other hand lovingly.

"Inuyasha…how?"

His voice was quite, thick with emotion. "I'm a hanyou, a half demon. Part human, part youkai. And every hanyou has a time where they turn human, losing their demon powers. This is my day, the day and night of the new moon. I…didn't want you to see me like this. Not yet. Right now, I'm a measly human."

Tears pooled at the shame in his voice. "Why didn't you tell me? You promised, no more secrets."

"My brother is the only other who knows, now you. Not even Miroku knows, and we've known each other since second grade. My mother knew, and my father, but they're gone. I'm sorry I never told you, but I just couldn't. I'm different."

"No! No, you not," she framed his face softly, bringing his eyes to her tearful ones. She needed to show him, no matter what, she loved him, "you're not different. You're Inuyasha, and always will be, no matter what. Human or otherwise. I just wish you told me instead of hiding it. I was beginning to think you were…cheating on me."

His eyes went wide and fearful and eh quickly wrapped her in his tight embrace. "How could you ever think that? You know I love you and only you. Its just hard Kagome, I never had anyone to share all my secrets with. I just need time to understand that."

She nodded and sniffled, holding him loosely. She pulled away and gave him a glare. "You really had me going there."

He gave her a grin, the same grin he always used, his signature grin. "You really thought there was someone else?"

"Oh come on," she crossed her arms, "it was the same time every month, and it looked planned. How could I not at least think the worst?"

He stepped to her and rubbed her arms gently, giving her shivers. Yep this was still Inuyasha. "Cause you trust me and I trust you."

She gave him one last glare. "Yeah right, why should I trust you if you cant trust me with this?"

He leaned down to her ear and tickled her with his breath. "Cause every minute I see you I love you, and keep thinking about that little moment when I bit your neck and made you scream."

The hair on her neck rose, " oh really? Well what about the time I rubbed your ears so hard you fell asleep on me?"

He pulled away and gave her a face, "hey that was an accident."

"Sure, keep telling yourself that when you're purring in your sleep."
