The colours felt good between her fingers as she plunged her hands into the next two containers. She had used the paint set and some of the paper to make Kagome a thank you card. Rin liked it when Kagome visited, and not just because she always brought something special to share. She liked going to the nearest spring and bathing. She liked the foaming cream that smelled like flowers and left her hair feeling clean. She liked how Kagome would brush her hair until it was soft and shiny. She especially liked the way that Sesshomaru-sama's eyes would sparkle as he watched them. She suspected that Sesshomaru-sama liked visiting with Kagome, too. Whenever he started to get a little grumpy, she would catch his searching for something on the wind and within a few days they would come across Kagome and her friends. She had thought of asking Jaken if he had noticed it too, but she knew that he was no good at keeping his mouth shut, and she didn't want Sesshomaru-sama to know that she knew. She feared, that if he knew that she had noticed, the `accidental' meetings would stop, so she remained silent and observant. She liked it. She liked knowing that he liked Kagome. It gave her hope that one day she might get a real family. `Yes,' Rin thought as she put the finishing touches on her masterpiece, `I like it when Kagome visits, and this time she even brought paints.'
Sensing that the visit was about to end, Rin cleaned herself up and replaced the lids on the small plastic pots. Kagome had assured her that they would be with her next time they met. Rin presented her thank you card, complete with beautiful rainbow, and quickly hugged the older woman good-bye. Releasing Kagome and thanking her again, Rin ran off to catch up with her Sesshomaru-sama and the colourful boa that trailed behind him.
