Kagome sat at her desk trying to finish her homework but her mind always wandered to Inuyasha ‘I can’t forget him I try but I can’t’ she sighed and laid her head down on the desk.
‘I want to move on but I can’t’ she lifted her head and stood up “that’s it I’m going back to tell him how I really feel”

Everybody's got something they had to leave behindOne regret from yesterday that just seems to grow with time
She jumped through the well and found herself in the feudal era. She walked towards Kaede’s village hoping that Inuyasha would pick up her scent but he never came. She then spotted one of Kikyo’s soul collectors and followed it but what she found was heartbreaking.

She saw Kikyo and Inuyasha in each other’s embrace and kissing “Inuyasha why?” she whispered but it reached Inuyasha’s sensitive hearing and he broke off the kiss and stared in Kagome’s direction then back at Kikyo but she had disappeared ‘Shit what did I do?’ he went towards Kagome with regret written across his face and in his eyes.

There's no use looking back or wonderingHow it could be now or might have beenAll this I know but still I can't find ways to let you go

“Why do you keep doing this to me, Inuyasha?” screamed Kagome as tears dropped from her beautiful chocolate brown eyes.

“I-I” stuttered Inuyasha “well?” she said

I've never had a dream come trueTill the day that I found you

“I don’t know” he said quietly as he lowered his head “you don’t know, I came back here just to be with you” her tears came down faster “I couldn’t forget you Inuyasha and I was hoping...that you didn’t forget me either but now I see you did forget me so I’m just going to let you be with your dead beloved, Kikyo” she ran away from him.

Even though I pretend that I've moved onYou'll always be my baby

He looked at her when she mentioned going home and his mouth fell open. ‘No please don’t leave me, Kagome please’ his mind screamed out but the words didn’t seem to reach his lips

I never found the words to sayYou're the one I think about each day

He wanted so bad to run after her but his legs wouldn’t move ‘Kagome come back wait’
He soon regained control of his body and ran after her “Kagome wait” he yelled after her “just leave me alone Inuyasha” she continued to run blindly through the forest until her legs couldn’t run anymore.
And I know no matter where life takes me toA part of me will always be with you

Somewhere in my memoryI've lost all sense of timeand tomorrow can never be cause yesterday is all that fills my mind

She came to a clearing and collapsed on the ground and sobbed uncontrollably ‘why Inuyasha why do you keep hurting me over and over again?’ she looked up at the beautiful night sky ‘can’t you see how much I love you?’
Inuyasha finally caught up to her and stopped moving when he saw her lying on the ground crying ‘Kagome...’ he moved toward her and sat down beside her “Kagome I...” “Please Inuyasha just go away” he put his hand on her shoulder but she shrugged it off.

He was surprised by her actions but knew how much hurt he caused her “Kagome I’m sorry I really am” he looked at the ground “I didn’t mean to cause you all this pain but you need to know where I’m coming from” she looked up at him

“I still love Kikyo but she’s my past not my present or future” he looked up at the stars “right now my heart and my mind is at war with each other while my mind is fighting for Kikyo...” he sighed “my heart is fighting for you” she was shocked at his words ‘for me’

“Why are you telling me this Inuyasha?” she said “because I want you to know how much I care for you” he looked down at her and smiled “I know I compared you to Kikyo so many times before but that’s because you and Kikyo are in no way alike you once were but now it’s just not the same”

“what do you mean?” “I mean that at one point Kikyo’s eyes held the warmth and love that you hold in yours but now they’re just dark and cold with no love evident in them at all” he went back to looking at the stars and she sat up next to him “this whole time my heart was looking for something, for love, and when it found it in you my mind wouldn’t except it

No matter how much I told myself that I wasn’t falling for you, the love my heart held for you grew and wouldn’t stop every night I had dreams about you and I think that was a way of my heart telling me how much you meant to me”

“Inuyasha what are you trying to say?” he looked straight into her chocolate eyes “what I’m trying to say is I-I love you, Kagome” she gasped and then smiled “I love you too, Inuyasha” he leaned in closer to her face “I’m glad you feel the same way I do” he smiled at her and her smiled got wider until she felt the warmness of his lips on hers.

She put her arms around his neck and he put his hands on her waist and the two lovers kissed under the light of the stars
