Chapter 8: I didn't mean it

Kagome stood there shock seeing Sesshoumaru cry. She watched as tears one at a time rolled down his cheek.

"Sesshoumaru. I didn't mean what I said," Kagome whispered. Sesshoumaru let out a snort.

"Of course you didn't," Sesshoumaru answered bitterly.

"Please Sesshoumaru, I'm sorry," Kagome answered moving closer to him.

"You have the right to be angry with my father. After all the things he's done to you," Sesshoumaru said shakily.

"But I-" Kagome started but was cut off as Sesshoumaru placed a finger to her lips. He shook his head and pulled the young girl into a hug.

"I'm sorry," Kagome said starting to sob.

"I am too," Sesshoumaru whispered.

<&!$^&*^#^&%!

As the days went on, Sesshoumaru and Kagome had gotten closer ever since Naraku's death. Kagome had attended the funeral, and listen to the heartfelt speeches that were said about the man that had kidnapped her. And on that same day of Naraku's funeral, Kagome found out that her parents had died of worry, and that she was now the sole owner of Shikon Corp. But she didn't want to attain the company just yet. Sesshoumaru had questioned her but she never really did answer his questions.

Kagome awoke from heavy footsteps downstairs. She thought that it might be a burglar. So with that thought in mind, she grabbed a baseball bat from Sesshoumaru's room, who was surprisingly not there. She tiptoed down to the room, and into the living room. She felt a wet substance from under her feet, but didn't pay attention to it. Once she was in the living room, she felt someone snake there arms around her body and clamped their hand to her mouth. Kagome bit the hand and twirled around to see who the man was. She was about to hit the person in the head when she realised that it was … Sesshoumaru.

"Sesshoumaru?" Kagome whispered. The man nodded his head.

"Holy Jesus Christ! You scared me half to death!" Kagome said in outrage. Sesshoumaru let out a chuckle and fainted on the spot. Kagome gasped, she was about to scream when she bit her tongue and willed herself not too. She didn't want to wake the whole house. She took Sesshoumaru by the armpits and pulled him across the room to the couch. She laid him there and turned the light on. Kagome covered her mouth with a hand as she saw the sight on the couch.

There lay Sesshoumaru all bloody. Kagome ran inside the kitchen and got out the bandages that the cook had in stock and hot water. Once she had the things she needed she sat down next to Sesshoumaru and unbuttoned his shirt. Kagome took it off and wet the cloth in the hot water. She placed the cloth on his chest and started cleaning out the blood.

Sesshoumaru's eyes fluttered open. He looked at the girl, and hissed when he felt a stinging in his chest. He looked downwards, he saw the girl's hand on his chest cleaning out the blood. He gave her a look.

"Don't complain, I'm cleaning out your wounds," Kagome answered to Sesshoumaru's inquisitive look. He nodded and closed his eyes. Once Kagome was done she cleaned up the trail of blood that Sesshoumaru left behind. It took a long time, because the blood on the floor was dry. But she was done in an hour or so. She went to check up on Sesshoumaru, she saw him sleeping on the couch peacefully. She sat beside him, and brushed away the bangs that covered his eyelids.

"What happened to you Sesshoumaru?" Kagome whispered. At the mention of his name, Sesshoumaru opened his eyes. He saw Kagome look at him in shock. He gathered the girl in his arms and placed her on top of him.

"Sleep," He commanded.

"But Sesshoumaru!" Kagome complained.

"You're tired, you sleep," Sesshoumaru said and closed his eyes. He left his arms around Kagome's waist, and tightened his grip on her as Kagome tried to wriggle out of his grasp. After awhile Kagome gave up. She felt sleep over come her and laid down to rest. Sesshoumaru opened one eye, and smirked.

Kagome awoke in the morning to find herself in her bed. She frowned and looked to her side. Sesshoumaru wasn't there. She frowned again and saw a note on her bedside table. She picked it up. And read it.

Kagome,

Thank you, for your kindness last night. I appreciate it.

Sesshoumaru

Kagome smiled, he does have a heart after all. Kagome yawned and looked at the clock to her left. It said 12:00 p.m.

"I slept in," Kagome said to herself.

Kagome was walking down the street at night. She was slightly cold, but that was okay. She had just came from the library reading about the Roman Gods. She found it very interesting. She looked at her watch, and saw that it was 7:00 p.m. If she didn't get home soon, then Sesshoumaru would be very upset. And she didn't want to take the long way. So she decided to go to the alley. She turned the corner, and walked down the alley. She was about to turn to her left when she heard voices coming from there. She hid against the wall and listened.

"Where's the Youkai?" a male voice asked. Kagome peered out and saw a man in the shadows, and right in front of him, was Sesshoumaru. Kagome stifled a gasp.

"Right here," Sesshoumaru said and opened the suitcase. Inside, the suitcase, was marijuana, cocaine, speed and many other types of drugs.

"You supply us better then your father," The man answered with a chuckle.

"Never compare me to that imbecile," Sesshoumaru answered venom dripping in his voice. The man nodded and took the suitcase from Sesshoumaru's hands.

"Next time, we want double the amount. And don't bring that chick over there either," The man answered as he walked away. Sesshoumaru looked around in confusion as the man, and his body guards left. In the corner, he spotted Kagome. He ran to her, as she tried to escape him.

"What did you think you were doing?" Sesshoumaru hissed at her once he had caught him.

"I'm sorry Sesshoumaru. I just heard voices and I …" Kagome's voice faltered.

"Listen, don't ever come here on Thursday's again do you hear me?" Sesshoumaru said. Kagome glared at him.

"What are you doing selling drugs?" Kagome whispered.

"It's not my choice," Sesshoumaru said.

"Not your choice!?!" Kagome said angrily.

"Listen, Naraku wanted me to do it, he asked it when he was on his death bed," Sesshoumaru answered. 'Why am I telling her this?' he asked himself.

"And why didn't you protest?" Kagome asked.

"Because, it is rude to not do what someone asks, as he is on his death bed," Sesshoumaru answered. Kagome nodded her head.

"Promise me one thing," Kagome said. Sesshoumaru nodded.

"Be careful," Kagome said. Sesshoumaru smirked.

"Itsumo," Sesshoumaru answered.

"And one more thing," Kagome answered.

"And that is?" Sesshoumaru said.

"Are you taking drugs?" Kagome asked.

"No. I'm not going to turn out like Naraku," Sesshoumaru answered. Kagome wondered why Sesshoumaru called Naraku by his first name instead of 'father' but didn't question it.

"Okay," Kagome said.

"Let's go home," Sesshoumaru ordered and dragged the girl by the arm.

And I'm done that.
