InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Drunk ❯ Drunk ( Chapter 1 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
“As you can see, the double helix unwinds as the enzyme runs across it and separates them. Then the messenger RNA takes the strand out of the nucleus and into the cytoplasm and takes it to the rough ER. That is where translation will take place…” Kagome stared at the screen as the teacher ran her pointer over the images. She bit her eraser; she could not understand biology.
Propping her head with her hand, she sighed; it was at least another 45 minutes before the bell would chime for the next period. Her attention was caught by the swaying branches of the trees outside the window. It shocked her sometimes that there were so few trees in her time. Back at the well, you can’t walk in a straight line anywhere without running into a tree. That was one of the many things that she loved about that place.
Hearing the classroom door slide open and the murmur of her fellow classmates, Kagome turned her sight from the window. She gasped when a certain hanyou wobbled into the door and leaned against its frame. He clothes looked disheveled, and his hat was crooked, and his face looked flushed and relaxed. Suddenly his eyes opened wide and he gasped, “Wow! Look at all ya’s! So many teenagers… How can you fit in this small room…?”
Kagome buried her hands in her face and groaned. Why is Inuyasha here?! Is he drunk?! Her teacher walked up to Inuyasha cautiously, “Young man, we’re in class at the moment. Do you need something?”
Her eyed her then replied, “I’m not really sure…” Walking up to her, he pointed into her face, “Lady, do you know why I’m here?”
“If you don’t need anything, I’ll have to ask you to leave.” Grasping his shoulder, she led him to the door, only to be stopped when he fell onto the floor in a heap. The students leaned forward into there seats to stared at the strange white haired man. He rolled onto his back spread eagle, gaping up at the ceiling.
“I’m here to pick up something,” he whispered. Curling up into a ball, he began to giggle uncontrollably.
“Kagome, isn’t that your boyfriend? What’s wrong with him?” Kagome heard Eri whisper in the seat behind her.
“Sir, you need to leave! You’re distracting my class.” The teacher ordered as she tried to pull up the giggling hanyou, but to no avail. He was too heavy for her.
“Kagome, do something!” Eri whispered again. Inuyasha stopped giggling when he heard her and jumped up. The teacher jumped back in surprise. Narrowing his eyes, he scanned through the faces of the students until he saw Kagome’s embarrassed one.
A huge grin spread across his face as he weaved his way over to her desk. She glared at him and hissed, “What are you doing here?!”
His reply simply was, “I got lost on the way to the store.”
She sighed and blushed deeply as she felt the eyes of her fellow classmates upon her. “Why were you going to the store?” She asked him.
He mouthed her question to himself and thought deeply. Suddenly he grasped both of her shoulders. “Stop shaking! I can’t see you straight if you keep doing that.” He stared at her for a moment before answering her question, “You jii-jii made me go to the store to get more sake… Today is his birthday and we have been drinking nonstop!” He let go of her shoulders, spun around in a circle, and hugged his stomach as he began to giggle again.
“Higurashi? Do you know this person?” Her teacher asked. “He shouldn’t be here during the school hours.”
“Sorry, Arai-sensei. He usually isn’t like this… He is old enough to drink just to let you know. Do I have permission to take him back home?” Standing up, she grasped the giggling hanyou’s shoulder and led him to the door. She stopped at it to wait for an answer.
“Yes, just get him out of here. I don’t want this happening again, Higurashi. I will have someone do your notes for the rest of the class.” Kagome bowed and retreated. He bowed as well, but almost fell face foreword. Leading Inuyasha by the arm, she took him down the hallway to the stairwell.
“Inuyasha, why did you come to my school? You know how much trouble you could have gotten me into.” She huffed. Glancing back, she could see that he was paying no attention to her. His eyes were following some invisible object that was flying over his head.
“Butterflies…” She heard him whisper. Looking around, she saw no butterflies anywhere in sight. She chuckled to herself, he really is funny drunk.
“Kagome… I think… I’m gonna kiss you.” He slurred.
She blushed deeply and let go of his hand to stare at him. “Huh?”
“I’m gonna kiss you. That’s what’ll do. No doubt about it…” He voice trailed off and his eyes glazed over.
“What?” She stared at him with a deep blush. He stepped forward and grabbed her shoulders and leaned in. He stopped only inches from her mouth. Suddenly, without warning, he fell forward and his face hit her nose.
“Owww!” She yelled as she clutched her nose. She took a step back and he fell on the floor. She pinched her nose and tipped it back when she felt blood. “Kuso,” She groaned.
She glanced down at the hanyou who was still on the floor, he let out a snore. I’m going to kill him…
