Kagome did as she was told, walking around the desk.
Inu Taisho stood, he was taller then both his sons, standing about 6'8”. He had a sword at his hip, and his hand unconsciously rested on the hilt as he looked over the woman he'd known so long ago. He pulled her into a gentle hug, before he backed up, and gently spun her letting the sight of her refresh his memory. “The most powerful Miko in history looks good in Jeans, and a hoodie, wouldn't you say boys?” He teased his sons, knowing what Sesshoumaru had done to the Hanyou.
“Dad!” Sesshoumaru growled.
“Father, that's not cool.” Inu Yasha said.
“Well believe it or not, back then I was considering taking her as my wife.” Inu Taisho said, making all three blush, as Shippou, Miroku, and Sango cracked up laughing.
Kagome bowed, slightly at the compliment that the Lord had just paid her. “Thank you, my Lord.”
“Kagome, we were friends, please, just because I rule the western half of Japan does not mean you can't call me Inu, still.” Inu Taisho said. “Sides, Yash, usually likes the name Jason better, that way he doesn't get addressed as Prince…” He smiled at her. “Besides, Gome, you saved my life, and spared Sesshoumaru's, at my request.” He smirked.
She smiled sheepishly at the Lord as he used her old nickname, that only he could ever use and live.
Sesshoumaru actually looked over at Jason, along with Shippou, as both demons heard the half's heart beat skip slightly then kick up, as he watched Kagome.
Sesshoumaru and Shippou locked eyes, Shippou broke into a wicked grin, as Sesshoumaru's eyes darkened slightly with mischief.
“Jason.” Kagome said.
Inu Yasha blinked. “Yes?”
She laughed softly, along with Inu Taisho, the lord had called his son's name about three times, and got no response, the young man had his attention focused on the priestess, and he had zoned out.
“What?” Inu Yasha asked.
“Son, take Tetsusaiga, I want you to see if Kagome can return to the past, I'm pretty sure she's trapped on this side, because about 500 years ago on Thursday, you told me that Lady Kagome was Safe, but would not be seen for a while. The Tetsusaiga will be needed to prove to me that you can protect her, and have Gome write a note to explain that she is okay, to Keade, in case I'm right. Return as soon as you can, we will be staying with Nanna Higurashi, with her permission, if granted.” Inu Taisho said.
Jason bowed, to show he accepted his orders, he jogged down the hall, and then returned a few moments later, with his sword strapped to his hip.
“Sesshoumaru and I have a bit of business to conclude here, but we will be at the Shrine as soon as we can.” Inu Taisho said.
“Kagome, I'll give you a ride.” Shippou offered.
“Thank you, Shippou.” She said, as they walked up to the roof, with Inu Yasha, Miroku, Kirara, and Sango in tow.
/Shippou I will hurt you./ Jason growled softly.
/Aww, Does Doggy have a crush on the Priestess?/ Shippou growled back, inaudibly to the humans.
/Shippou, you heard Dad, I WILL protect her./ Jason growled softly.
Shippou laughed softly, as he crouched, allowing Kagome to climb onto his back.
Kirara flashed into her big form, and the monk and taijiya climbed on, as Jason lead the way back to the Shrine at a slightly sedated pace.
Shippou's jumps were a little rougher, and he tried his best to keep his claws from digging into the denim of her jeans. He stuck his tongue out at Jason when the older boy looked back at him, his silver tongue stud catching the light.
“Shippou?” Kagome asked.
“Hmm?” He asked, as he landed on the edge of a building.
“I mean no offense, but may I ride with Inu Yasha, your claws, are hurting me…” She asked, sheepishly.
Jason circled back, and landed beside Shippou, seeing the Kitsune looking guilty.
“My apologies, Lady Kagome, of course you may, I forgot that I haven't had them filed.” He said softly, guilt in his eyes.
“Not your fault. Inu Yasha, may I ride with you?” She asked, after Shippou let her down.
“Not a problem.” He lowered himself a little, allowing her to climb on. “The runt forget to file his claws again?”
Shippou growled at Jason, before he leapt off ahead of the Inu.
“Y'all right?” Jason asked, as he caught his stride, jumping with practiced ease.
“Yes, thank you, I did not mean to offend Shippou.” She said apologetically.
“He's just embarrassed he hurt you… You know, in this day and age, Miko's don't exist, there was a great war between the Youkai, the humans, and the Miko, the Youkai won, the Humans, we coexist with them, because they are useful, and they know not to threaten us. Most people believe that Miko are just legends, but with all the stories my old man told me and the others, well the way he tells it, it's because of that necklace he wears, the one you gave him, that he survived all of the Miko attacks, and the ones that were sent to assassinate him…” Jason said.
“It took me three days to cast that spell, on that rosary, he was my friend, and there were a lot of mikos out to kill him, so I asked him if I could put him under my protection, and I was surprised when he let me. But I'm glad to know that it worked.” She smiled softly.
They landed in the courtyard of the shrine, just beneath the Goshinboku.
Inu Yasha allowed her down, as he felt his phone going off. He pulled out his cell phone. “Jason.” He answered.
“Son, it's Inu Taisho, ask Gome to place you under her protection, and be careful of Naraku, he smells of Miasma, and decay. Be Careful Kid.” Taisho said.
“I was planning on being careful, dying isn't on the agenda.” Jason smirked.
“Smart ass, look, ask her, love ya kiddo.” Inu Taisho said.
“Talk to you later, Pops.” Inu Yasha said, as he pocketed his phone.
“Roku!” Jason said.
“What!” Miroku asked, from where he'd been attempting to sneak up on Sango.
“Hiraikotsu!” Sango let out a yell, as she stood there her arms crossed.
“Sang, you left it at home.” Shippou informed her calmly.
“That's what you think, give me two minutes.” She smirked.
Kagome watched the whole conversation with curiosity.
“Kagome?” Inu Yasha asked.
“Yes?” She asked.
“Would you put me under your protection, in case Dad's right?” Inu Yasha asked.
Kagome nodded. “Have a seat.” She suggested as she sat on the ground, cross legged, not used to these things that Inu called Jeans.
There was a yelp from Miroku as he went face down onto the ground, a lump on the back of his head, as Hiraikotsu circled, and then Sango held up her hand, and easily caught it.
Shippou's eyes were wide. “Aye Houshi, it was great knowing you.”
Sango smiled. “I tweaked with it, and might have put some technology in it…” She said innocently.
“Jason, I need a lock of your hair, please?” Kagome said, as he sat down in front of her.
He nodded, and cut off a piece for her with his claws.
She braided it, her whole body glowed pink as she chanted under her breath. She let go of the hair, and it wound itself around her throat, and glowed slightly, as it turned it self into a necklace.
His rosary glowed blood red, with swirls of pink as she chanted. She pulled one of her arrows, and cut her palm with the tip, she let the blood drip, and mid air it turned and joined with his rosary, overtaking the blood red with a pink glow, he felt all the little hairs on the back of his neck raise. He watched her lips move wondering what they would taste like. He shook himself slightly, and froze as he saw her eyes flash open looking directly into his.
She offered him her injured hand. “Drink a little bit.” She said softly, her mind still focusing her power.
He did as he was told, not one to argue with a Miko when she was focusing her energy around his neck, he lapped up a little of her blood, and watched as the wound glowed pink, and healed, she chanted for another minute or two, and then he shivered as she gave a soft smirk.
“There.” She said, matter of factly. “You should be safe.”
“I thought you said it took three days.” Jason asked confused.
“I was still training, I hadn't done the spell before, and I had yet to unlock my full potential.” She explained.
Jason nodded.
After explained things to Nanna; Shippou, Jason, and Kagome headed for the well house. Shippou was going to make sure that if Inu Taisho was right, that Kagome wasn't left stranded in the bottom of the well.
Jason carried Kagome on his back, and he nodded to Shippou, as he jumped from the rim of the well, down into it…
