Me: Yeah, I know I should be finishing my other fics, but I did this for a class and I have to type it out any way…minus the somewhat funny A/Ns. This is a ONE-SHOT and unlike my other so called one-shots, it will stay a one-shot. Here it goes!

A lone figure slowly walked in the busy streets of Japan. The darkening skies showed how she felt, dark and dreary. As her tears began to pour from her unnatural yet brilliant sapphire eyes, the heavens broke and cried with her.

`Is there not an elixir for a broken heart?' she thought. `I don't want to forever suffer from the aching in my chest.' The young woman with raven black hair continued her lonely walk, and those around her could feel her sadness and heartbreak emanating from her person in waves. Many turned to look at her in pity, but there were a few that looked at her with an empirical look, knowing what she went through.

“What went wrong with us?” She wondered how her love and happiness turned into an ephemeral dream that was short-lived. He was the epitome of a perfect guy. Tall, broad-shouldered, fit, and the most amazing hazel eyes made up his amazing looks. He was just one of those guys that you could not eschew, for you always felt drawn to him, erotically and emotionally.

`He always enervated me, always elucidating how he felt for me and my feelings for him. At the same time though, somewhere deep in his eyes, there was an ennui, like he had done this so many times before me that he had grown tired of it.' Kagome hastened her pace and she began to think more. By that time, she had arrived in a desolated park, with creaky swings and lonely benches. She seated herself on a swing and opened her locker that was around her neck.

Inside was a picture of two people who looked like they loved each other so much and having a fun time. It was a facetious picture of the couple taken during a bright summer day when they both fell in the river. Both were laughing and on the other side of the locket engraved was Kagome and InuYasha, together loving one another for ever. Kagome looked at the weeping sky. She closed her eyes and she could imagine that day in her mind. The sun's warmth and the laughter being heard sounded and felt so real. When she was convinced it wasn't a dream, she opened her eyes back to reality. It was all in the past.

`Even if we broke up on bad terms, I can never hate him,' she thought. Kagome looked at the slowly brightening sky. “I believe I share an empathy with him. Imagine how I would feel if my old love came back and we were both still in love with each other. Their past has so many mistakes, but he still loves her, and did his best to make emendations. I just don't understand while he had to do it behind my back!” By now, she had begun to pace angrily, fury overwhelming her heartbreak.

His past lover was endemic, but he did not want to move away from her, ergo he packed his things and left, with not a word of goodbye to his lover. That was what broke her heart, that he left with her without an apology or a goodbye. He should have known that even though he would sadden her, she would understand.

Kagome raised her head to watch the rising sun, a new day, and smiled. She understood him and forgave him, and she promised herself as she walked into the sunrise that she would start a new, brighter life, using what happened with her and InuYasha as a lesson to be learned.
