Chapter 1:How it begins

 

A/n hey I hope you guys/girls like my story. Critical thinking and thoughts welcome. Just no flames k? I don't own any of the characters from inuyasha, not that you will see them for a lil bit.All the characters introduced in this chap are MINE. Plz ask permision to use them. `thoughts' “speaking” scene change

 

Centries ago, at the beginning of the Inu no taisho rule over the western lands, there was a fair young human maiden of the east destined for things beyond compare.

 

 

It was a beautiful day in the eastern kingdom where you could see servents running to and from the ballroom and the master bedchambers along with the prince and princesses. Today was the night of the ball announcing the heir of the eastern lands.All the lords and their families would be attending.

 

Princesses chambers

 

“Oww!! Don't get the obi so tight, I can't breath.”, said a young and beautiful onna around the age of 18. “I'm sorry milady but we don't want you to look like a cow now do we?” the servent said. The onna blinked. “Did you just insinuate that I am fat?”the princess said glaring at the now deathly pale servent. “N-no lady Ikaika. N-never would I suggest s-s-such a thing”,the servent stammered. Ikaika looked back at the quivering servent and started laughing, “you know I would never get you in trouble yuki….but you should have seen your face” the maiden was soon so consumed in her merriment that it allowed the servent yuki, to compose her self. “Now milady that was a cruel trick to play on me, what would your father say?”, yuki scolded. “He'd probably laugh along with me, after all he is the one who taught me the trick..” she laughed as yuki again went pale. “No worry yuki it is a joke with the new maids. Every one in the palace has been victim to it.” Ikaika said quenching her servents fears.

 

 

Lord and lady's chambers

 

“Is everything in place for the announcment of my heir?”, Lord Keiji asked his wife, Lady Sakura. “Of course milord.”Lady Sakura said fixing her husbands haori. “I have a feeling that the results may vary from bad to a catastrophe, are you sure in your desition?”, “I am positive koi, no need to worry they will take it well.” Keiji said cupping sakuras face and gently kissing her.

 

Princes chambers

 

`In a matter of hours I will be heir and from that point on no one will be able to stop I, Yukio son of Lord Keiji and Lady Sakura of the ever powerful Haleigha empire. Soon my plans shall be put to action and I will rule ALL!!' the young master Yukio thought his face contorting servent thought. into a sinester grin that had his servent shaking behind him.' I don't like the look of `em t'day'the servent thought aranging master Yukio's atire.

 

 

Hours later: Beginning of the ball

 

 

As the guests arrived they were greeted by Lord Keiji and Lady Sakura. The lords are: Lord Akihito of the south, his mate lady Aiko and their daughters Mako(10) and Kako(6) of the tiger youkai race. Next is Lord Naruhito of the north, his wife Lady Toshi and their son Akira. And at last arrived the Western Lord Kane and his mate Lady Kumiko and they're new son, Daichi, they are of the inuyoukai race.

 

Lord keiji and Lady sakura led them to the ballroom, and Lord Keiji got up on the podium, “Welcome my friends and honored guests to the ball in wich I shall name my lands heir. Before I make the announcment you shall get to meet them. Introducing the eldest of the two, my son Yukio.” Lord Keiji then signaled for the servents to clear the curtain that Yukio was waiting behind. Yukio strolled down the stairs and bowed to his father and the other lords and ladies. “It is a pleasure to make your aquantence milords and ladies” he purred, smirking. In turn they bowed and introduced themselves. As he went to stand by his father ,Lord Keiji continued, “And now you shall meet my little flower, Ikaika.” Again signaling the servents the curtains were lifted to reveal the most stunning of women, Princess Ikaika. As she was descending she couldn't help but blush at all the eyes watching her. `She is the most beautiful goddess I have ever had the pleasure of laying my eyes on.' were all the lords thoughts although Yukio's was far from pleased, `that wench! How dare she come here in that whorish kimono!!! She is a disgrace!', simular were the thoughts of Lady Kumiko. Ikaika seemed to glide down the steps to stand by her father. “Good evening father, milords and ladies, it is my honor to be in the presence of ones so great.” She said bowing deeply to each individually. The western lord stepped up. “I assure you it is our pleasure to be in a presence so beautiful as yours Lady Ikaika.” Lord Kane said kissing her knuckles, eyes transfixed to hers. Ikaka's blush deepened and shyly averted her gaze, missing his smirk and the knowing gazes of all who watched.

 

“Well lets start the music and have some fun before the announcment ne?,” Lady Sakura said cheerfully as she stared with amusement at her daughter and Lord Kane. “Hai, a great idea indeed, koi would you like to dance?” Lord Akihito asked his mate. “I would love to,” Lady Aiko replied as Akihito twirled her to the dance floor, as Lord and Lady of the north soon followed. Lord Kane turned to Ikaika and aked if she would care to dance. “I do not think your mate would appreciate you asking another Lord Kane,” Ikaika said looking pointedly at the brooding demoness. “ahh… well it will be only one dance, I give my word” he said replying. “I…” “go on sweetheart I shall keep her company while you two dance” her mother said nudging her toward the ballroom floor. “ok then” she said as Kane led her to the middle of the floor. He bowed and she curtsied then they began to twirl and flow around the room. Yukio glowered and went to the sulking Lady Kumiko. “Milady, would you do the pleasure of giving me this dance?” he said, his eyes glittering mysteriously. “Fine then” she said arrogantly as she stood and dumped Daichi to the nearest servent.

 

After dinner

 

“Now is the time in which I will present to you my heir's identity.” Keiji then turned his attention to both his children, “Yukio, Ikaika. You have both grown to be the best children a father could have, well-mannered, handsome, beautiful, intelligent, strong, and healthy. Know that this desition was not based on favorites but on your training and study accomplishments. Also on you interest levels of becoming the ruler of these lands.” Keiji paused. Ikaika looked at her feet. “Yukio, my son and eldest, I have gotten the impression in your training that you care only for the power of these lands and to build them strongly. I am afraid that I can not allow you to use my lands for you greed.” Yukio looked surprised but glared at his father but Ikaika looked up anxious “ that is why I am naming your sister my heir, because she has shown compassion towards our people and understanding of their needs and requests. I am sorry son. Congratulations Ikaika you will start your training the day after tomarrow.”he said embracing his daughter as the others applauded.

 

“This is an OUTRAGE!!!!!!!!!! How dare you father appoint this whore, your heir!! I AM THE HEIR!!!!!!!!!!! Not this slut who hangs on one who is already mated!!” Yukio bellowed, slamming his fist into the table, cracking it. “HOLD your tongue!!!! This is why you are not heir, because of your GREED for power!!! Where I went wrong in raising you I do not know but I will not tolerate such disrespect in my HOME!!!!!!!!!” Lord Keiji stood shaking from rage and shame of his sons actions.Lady Sakura and Ikaika stood behind Keiji along with the others standing behind their mates and/or husbands. Yukio stood there… glaring at his father for the longest time, then turned on his heel and left the room slamming open the heavy wooden doors and knocking servents out of his way.

 

“Father? What is wrong with Yukio?”,Ikaika whispered. “He is having a tantrum.” Keiji repied. “That is more than a tantrum that is full blown jelousy and malice, not a good mix I must say.” Lord Akihito said shaking his head. “what a shame, was such a good cub to.”

 

The shadows

 

“They shall pay, they all shall pay, dearly yes all very dearly how wonderful shall the mighty fall. Just wait and see father I shall become greater than Kami himself.” A murderous laugh could be heard throughout the palace sending chills down the spines that heard it.

 

 

In the weeks to pass Ikaika's miko power would grow along with the ever growing relationship between she and Lord Kane. By the end of the second month of courting Ikaika's power was un matchable and so her training came to an end. On this day is when Kane approuched her.

 

Ikaika was in the palace garden tending to the ume,when she felt Kane heading to the castle. She smiled `Father must have told him I finished training and is coming to celebrate,' she giggled and feined ignorance of his arrival.

Kane entered the garden to see his koi tending to her garden. `good she doesn't notice me yet', he smirked as he crept closer as stealthy as a cat and soundless he was about to pounce and… “don't even think about it koinu.” He seemed to deflate. “awwww you never let me have any fun koi.” He said as he wrapped his arms around her waist kissing her neck. “you better not give me a love bite you animal.” She teased the end result, he nipped her. “hey what did I just say?” she asked turning around and looking at him as if she was scolding a child. He smirked, “Give you love bites?” she laughed “ oh your just a big puppy playing dress up as a lord!” she laughed even more.he straightened.

“Ikaika” he said in a more serious manner that got her attention. “What? Oh im sorry if I offended you, I di..”he put his finger to her lips and she stopped talking. “You didn't offend me” he said. “then whats wrong?” she looked truly adorable when she was worried,he smirked “why nothing is wrong my fair maiden I just wanted to get your attension for an announcement I have to make” He had her sit on the grass and he kneeled next to her. “Beautiful Ikaika, today is the day that you have completed your training and are now free to do as you will until it is time for you to become the Lady of Haleigha empire.”

He stared directly into her eyes gold meets icy blue. “Will you Lady Ikaika, become my mate?”, he asked. “Oh Kane… I don't know what to say. What about Lady Kumiko and Daichi?” she said searching his eyes. “Kumiko and I were mated by betrothment, I do not love her as I do you. As for Daichi he is my son and I love him as such. Since I have met you Ikaika I have known great happiness and I know you will be a great mother to any pups that we shall conceive.”he said hoping it would sway her answer. `He looked so sad and hopeful that I couldn't refuse… not that I would anyway I just had to make sure I wasn't second best.' I smiled “Yes I shall become your mate Kane, yes now and the rest of my life” Kane stood and swung Ikaika around and round till he fell over. Today was one of the only times would she feel such joy and love.

 

Shadows

 

`This is truly a remarkable development and shall be wonderfully twisted to fit my desires. Yes now to find a partner, oh the possibilities. I know just the one.' The figure slowly slunk back into nothingness.

Over the months that passed the mating ceremony had come and gone with perfection. Two veiled figures hung in the back ground glowering at the couple waiting for the perfect moment. Weeks later news reached the east that Ikaika was with pup, as the months passed Lady Sakura's health was diminishing and the figures sneered at her expence.

 

“No mother you must hold on you have to be there for my pup to spoil and play with him/her.” Ikaika whimpered. “I am sorry my daughter for I will not make it the night. Don't let the child grow without knowledge of me. I love you all and shall miss you. Do not spend to much time greiving me its bad for the child.goodbye koi.”was her last words any of them would ever hear again. Ikaika sobbed. “NOOO mother!!!! COME BACK!!!!” Kane was heartbroken at seeing his mate in such a state of sorrow. Lord Keiji walked towards his wifes dead form and also started sobbing. Kane decided to leave them alone so he picked up Ikaika and left the room.

 

As weeks and months slowly passed her father did not improve and was consumed in his grief and shortly after also became one among the deceased. Ikaika was only comforted by the thought that one day they would meet again. Although it seemed the worst was over Yukio and his partner Kumiko were still not happy and so Kumiko devised a plan to gain the land of the west.

 

A month later

 

Ikaika was walking down the halls looking for her mate when she heard a noise in a near by room and went to investigate. When she neared the door there was the most putent smell she had ever experienced. She opened the door and screamed. Gaurds came rushing down the hall to see their lady against the opposite wall of an open door. The general took a look in the room to find their lord naked and decapitated with his head on one side of the room. “Get her out of here NOW!!!”he yelled to a few of the gaurds. Ikaika was moved back to Haleigha.

 

Garden at Haleigha

 

Ikaika was once again in her grarden at her old home but this time it was different, there was no mother or father or even her beloved she was all alone. But alone did not mean there was no one else in the castle, oh no there was someone but it was someone you wished to never meet, it was Yukio. And he had a plan to carry out. “Poor poor Ikaika. What is troubling you so” he purred in his sinister way. Ikaika wirled around to face him. She had not been able to sense him in her grief and for that she would have to pay dearly.

 

 

 

A/N so what do you think??? Its kinda a cliffy but oh well.^_^

R&R plz no flames just critical advise. Tell me what I need improvement on.
