Disclaimer: I still don't own Inuyasha, but my friend thinks she's gunna be a rock star and marry Elijah Wood and once she's rich I'm sure she'll buy him for me. That'd be so sweet…. Though I'd totally screw up the series. Lol like I'm doing with this fanfic!

Chapter cinco-

Kagome could feel a blinding heat all around her. All she could see was a bright white light pushing away the darkness that seemed to be at the edge of her mind. She felt something leave her body and watched in horror as it looked like a green light that was joined by another stream of light just like it. Then she was falling away from the safety of that light. Some one was screaming her name. "Inuyasha…" Then she was surrounded by darkness.

"Uh!" Kagome woke up with a gasp. She looked around at Kaede's hut. She could see that it was still dark outside and that her friends were all still asleep around her. "Oh…it was just a dream…phew." She could feel that her body was covered in a cold sweat.

She sat crossed legged holding her head looking out the window at the night sky. Her breath was still coming in pants from being scared out of her wits by that dream.

"I…don't…like…falling…"She whispered to herself.

"None of us do, Baka."

Kagome turned her head to see Inuyasha resting about two feet away up against the hut wall.

"Did I wake you?" she asked tentatively

"How could I sleep through all that noise you make?"

Shrugging she turned around to fully face him. "Inuyasha, I had a dream. It was horrible. I felt something like ripped out of me and then I was falling through this darkness."

He'd had his eyes closed while they were talking but now he opened one of them to look at her.

"Through darkness, huh?"

She nodded

"Yeah, I get that sometimes, too."

Kagome brightened a little at this.

"Really?"

"Yeah, but it's just been recently. I felt something ripped out of me, too. It felt like my heart…" The hanyo trailed off thinking he'd revealed a little too much, but this was Kagome he was talking to and it felt right to tell her.

`His heart?' Kagome paled at the thought.

"It didn't feel like that for me. It felt like I didn't have a heart. Like I was just falling and that everything I was was left with that light."

Inuyasha cocked an eyebrow at her. "That's kinda weird."

Kagome was just starring at the floor fidgeting with her hands. "Yeah." She replied.

"It sounds like you lost your soul."

Her head came up really fast with her eyes wide and her mouth formed a little O.

"Oh my gosh…that's what it was. I lost my soul." She put a pale hand over her heart. "That was that horrible feeling." She grimaced. "I never want to feel that for real."

Listening to her Inuyasha was a bit afraid. He had just said the first thing that had popped into his head, but he didn't think it'd affect her like this.

He looked a bit shocked and worried as her reached a hand out to her shaky figure.

`She's shaking… damn it! Are those tears?'

He pulled Kagome into his lap.

"C'mon, Kagome, don't cry. No one's going to take your soul. Remember, when that witch stole it? You took it right back Kagome! Your too strong."

With a sniffle her hand whipped away a tear that was clinging to her cheek. She gazed up at Inuyasha and let out a shaky laugh.

"I guess your right." And with that she snuggled into his red kimono. "Thank you, Inuyasha. I feel much better."

His faced turned a little red, but not much. He and Kagome had been growing closer in the pass weeks. It seemed like they were finally starting to have the relationship they were meant to…

Kagura had seen everything that had happened back with Kikyo and the others. Naraku had told her to follow Kikyo and report to him if she really got the shards.

"Yeah, she got `em."

"Did they hand them over like she said they would?"

"Practically. The two girls were bathing and she just took it."

Naraku slightly smiled at the news.

"Good. She should be here in about a day to give them to me."

Kagura frowned thinking about when Kikyo told her she was going to get the shards and bring them to Naraku.

"I still don't see why she's giving them to you."

"She thinks she can destroy me. That because of Onigumo I can't touch her."

Kagura's eyes widened.

`She's going to defeat Naraku? Then…I might be free.'

"Is that true? Will Onigumo stop you from defeating her?"

"Of course not. Once she gives me the jewel I will expel Onigumo from me. I wont need him anymore to keep me stable, and I will kill her."

What little hope kagura had deflated.
