Chapter One: Twins of Fate
Chapter One: Twins of Fate
In the storms of the night, rain pattered and thunder howled. The forest swayed with the unholy thrashes that the Gods of the Wind created. In the same forest, a hut sat in the torture of pain. A woman's scream echoed into the empty wooden walls. Alone, she lay upon the single, red silk bed. The woman was that of a demon, her hair long and silky sapphire. A white kimono laid sprawled open, reveling the milky white skin of a mother to be. Sweat bore her brow as she screamed into the night. Lightening flashed and tears ran the length of her lovely face.
Her mate had yet returned, and the unborn life inside of her was begging to come into the world. Long hours past and the mother's screams soon died into soft grunts and groans. Pushing with all the might she could bare, a scream ripped from her throat as a new softer cry echoed into the world. It was mere seconds before a second cry followed. The demoness forced herself to sit up. Leaning her weight against the wall of the hut, the small fire her mate made reflected near embers.
Before her, were her children she had waited months to give life to. Both were very pale skinned, just as their mother and father both were. The mother reached her hands down and brought the first, close to her body. It was a small girl, with a small patch of hair the color of the moon. Her cries where high pitched and sweetly followed by wiggling and coos. The babe's eyes fluttered open, those long lashes reveling the dark red hues called eyes. So very similar to her father it was almost uncanny.
Fully removing her kimono, the mother allowed her first to feed from her swollen chest, before she took the second one into her arms and repeated the same feeding process. The second child was also a small girl. Yet, so unlike her sister in many ways, upon her head was a small patch of sapphire hair. This babe was much more peaceful, she was quiet as she feed and barely moved. Soon, the second child's eyes fluttered open reveling eyes that caused the mother to gasp. The babe's left eye was as red as crimson, but the right was as gold as the sun. She carried silver kitten like ears, similar to their father's, where her elder sister held pointed ears like their mother.
The demon mother was both amazed and bewildered by this child. The mother was a woman of noble standings in the Inu-demon statues. She bore the marks of her family upon her face and body. Her mate, her lover, her husband, was that of a powerful Neko-demon family. Nether family felt threatened or disturbed by the two mating, both were very strong and known for their powers by many Inu and Neko breeds alike.
”I think…” She whispered softly to the children in her arms. “I will call you…” She whispered to the silver haired beauty, her first born. “Suta, you child are so much like the changing moon…and you..” She whispered to the strange eyed, second born. “And you…Osorehana…a horror flower, a child that is both as lovely as any, but strange in ways that will make people wonder.”
The cold night ended in the rainstorm, and things fell into place that would sadden the Gods of the night.
As the twins of the neko and inu demon slept peacefully in the arms of their mother, a battle was fought miles from there. A strong Neko fighter fell at the hands of a might demon, he'd lain his life down for the Lord of the West, and he never got to see his children and the happiness of his beloved mate.
It's been over sixty-five years since that very day. After the loss of the great neko, many breeds of feline demons grew to hate the dogs of the world. The woman with sapphire hair was murdered the night her twin daughters learned to speak. After that both twins where taken in by an older healer woman whom lived in the forest far from the humans. She wondered and pondered how two full breed demons could produce such a strange pair of siblings. While Satu was a half neko and half inu, she held merely the colorings of her father, but her mother's eyes and no markings of her family. Osorehana, the elder woman learned was a half-breed and held very little inu blood in her at all. She held her mother's looks, and both parents' eyes, but she carried with her the neko ears and tail, both lovely shades of silver.
It was mid summer, as the elder woman prepared meals for the two demon girls. It had been sixty-five years since they were both, and the woman found them both fifty years ago.

“Grammy…” A voice carried into the woman through the door. As the olden eyes of the woman gazed up she smiled. Before her stood Osorehana, or Osore for short as the child liked to use. The girl was in the prime of her years like her sister, both eighteen in human years, but well over sixty in demon times. “Ah, Osore.” She whispered as she watched the silver neko ears of the child twitch softly.
The young half-breed wore a long black kimono, adored with a lovely red ribbon around her waist. “Ah…. I…. got the herbs you asked for, Suta's coming…”
There was such a difference between the two, and it could be told as a loud voice echoed and a figure appeared at the door. A few inches taller then Osore, stood Suta. Suta had always been loud, playful, short tempered and just plain stubborn. Osore on the other hand, was much calmer and innoncent, but there was things about the two that made them powerful. “Alright, ye two wash, dinner's finally finished.” With that Grammy got a small nod from Osore and a large sigh of boredom from Suta. Before the two left through the doors and off to the hot spring near by to clean themselves.
