Kagome hesitantly opened the letter, in hopes that it held what she had been waiting to hear for what seemed like forever;

Kagome,

First off, I will not lie to you, Kikyo's words were true. And now that I know

the truth about how you feel, I have one less fear. But, Kagome, you must

understand that I do care about you. But I can't show it. Showing my feelings

for you may only make things worse. Naraku used my feelings for Kikyo against

me once. Who's to say he won't do it again? But it makes me happy to know that

you care about me and choose to stay by me forever, no matter how things turn

turn out in the end. Kagome. I will admit that I do truely love you. You make me

happy and complete. You don't understand. You might think that, from the way

I act, that I don't, but I do. I love you more than I ever did Kikyo. I could never

say that I will not let anyone use me against you. Like you said. If anything were

to you and I couldn't protect you, I don't know what I would do. I must end this

letter because you are coming back. I love you, Kagome, always remember that,

no matter what happens.

Kagome almost cried. Tears of happines fell from her chocolate brown eyes as she walked towards InuYasha.

"InuYasha. come down here. We need to talk."

InuYasha just growled and continued starring into the starry night.

"Fine, if you won't come to me, then I'll come to you!" Kagome said, digging her nails into the tree bark and pulling herself up. About half way up, she grabbed a loose piece of bark and slid down the tree, landing roughly on the ground.

Standing to her feet, frustration shown in her eyes. "InuYasha, get down here!"

When InuYasha didn't budge, she decided to do it the hard way.

"Fine, then I'll make you come down..."

InuYasha's eyes grew to the size of saucers as realization hit him. "Uh-oh..."

"InuYasha, SIT!" (Ouch!)

"Aaaaaggggghhhhhh" two loud screams were heard across the horizon as InuYasha was pulled to the ground beneath him. Kagome, who didn't really pay attention to where she was standing, made the wrong choice of standing directly underneath of InuYasha as she spoke the word that acivated the rosary. Therefore, she was uncomfortably caught underneath of InuYasha for the time being.

"Uhm InuYasha, how long does this thing usually take to wear off?"

".................."

"InuYasha...?"

InuYasha sat up and stared Kagome in the eyes.

"Baka....."

"Well, InuYasha. If you would've just came down...."

"What do you want, wench?" InuYasha growled

"Uhm, to talk......about this....." Kagome said holding up the letter. Then she gently kissed him. Of course he kissed her back, all the longing and desire poured into that one kiss, making it deeper and more passionate. She pulled away, a smile crossed her face.

"See, InuYasha, you said you can't how me that you love me."

"So....."

"Well, you just did...."

InuYasha smiled as he realized what she meant and kissed her once more before grabbing her and pulling her up to his spot in the tree. Where they fell asleep in eachothers arms.

"InuYasha! Help me!!!!" InuYasha awoke to the frightened scream of his new found love. His eyes reluctantly slid open and looked to the spot where his love had been, but she was gone. Her scent lingered in the air but only her scent.

"What the....only one scent...how the...."

"I told you, InuYasha, your fears and weaknesses, will soon become your nightmares. You should have watched your mate more carefully" Kikyos voice rang out in the air, coming from all around him and no where in particular.

"But don't worry, InuYasha, the nightmares just begun......"
