Chapter two
Kag Pov
Two years and two promotions later, I find myself sitting in Miroku's office totally estatic.
“Kagome as I told you, the higher up I go, the further you will go. You will make a great editor, and I'm not saying that because I'm your friend. So your first client will be in at noon. In the mean time get yourself situated in your new office. A week from today we'll will have a new Vice president here and his office will be across from mine.”
My new office, a new Vice president not that we have ever had one, but with the growth that was exciting, wait…new client. “ So who's my Client?”
“You've read some of his books actually. Kouga Wolfe.” Before I could say anything Miroku continued.” I think if you worked with him you could help him with his new novel. I think he needs a feminine critic to show him where he is lacking.” And that is how he ended the pep talk. So I got up and left his office.
Kouga Wolfe is a very popular romance writer. The problem is that he is a total pig! His books are instead of about love and relationships are about well um smut. At least in my eyes. In the meetings we had with him he would always make snide comments at me, telling me I'm a prude. He's even tried asking me out a couple of times. The jerk! Oh I look forward to this meeting, as I grab his file and start reading his current project.
As the clock chimes 12:00 noon I close the file shaking my head. Just as I thought. No storyline. I then notice No Kouga Wolfe. He had a tendency in being late on purpose.
I go to my filing cabinet just to look through what neat files I could put in there since the cabinet is empty when I heard a slight knock at my already opened door.
“So you are going to help me now, huh?” Came a voice from the door. I looked up and saw that it was my appointment with two bags of lunch. He comes in and places them on my desk as a peace offering for being late. I silently take the offering. “Thank you for coming today Mr. Wolfe…” I started and he cut me off.
“Look I know that I need help with my novels, and I am really flattered that a beautiful woman such as yourself is helping me, but why you?” He asked
Don't get me wrong, Kouga I mean Mr. Wolfe is a very good looking man. He's one of those guys that scream I am all male, and it radiates from him. The problem is he doesn't have much finesse and he really does nothing for me.
“ I mean I can see Ken or Aya, but why you. You're a virgin? What do you know about love? Did you even ever kiss a guy?” Yep he lacks finesse.
Now I know your thinking I told him that I was a virgin. But no I didn't, well not really. You see he is a Wolf Youkai. Since he has such strong senses he has the ability to smell that I wasn't ever claimed. Either that or he baited me and my reaction told him.
“Kouga, I am to help you because you lack a female audience. It's a known fact that most readers are female and if you would recognize that then you would have an easier time with your writing and realize that some of the things that you write isn't exceptable to the female populace.” Yes I am about to ruin my chances in editing with my first client.
“Wow your really are passionate. It must be all that pent up tension you have. You know I can help you with that.” He said suggestively.
I smiled sweetly and declined the offer. When he took the hint got into business right then.
Later that day Miroku stopped by my office with a grin and an envelop in his hand.
“Kouga called me and thought you gave him excellent advice. Keep it up kid. This is for you and your sister. And I'll hope to see you there Tonight!” Confused I opened the envelope to notice it was two tickets to a charity ball at City Hall. Wow a Black tie!
Later on At the Boutique Kikyou is dragging me into the fitting room. “ I am soo excited in Going Kag! I haven't been out in a long time.I just wished I wasn't so fat” She said with three gowns in her hand looking down at her growing belly. “Lets hope I don't have twins again.” I didn't notice what she was saying because I was looking out the window staring at a man crossing the street. Kikyou also saw him because she stopped her ranting and stared. We always had similar taste in men.
He looked tall with long white/silver hair that was tied back. I could help but take a step forward to get a better look. It was almost like time stopped for me. All I could see was that man. To say he was beautiful would be too feminine, and Handsome would be an insult.
“He's is a work of art.” Kikyou muttered under her breath but I heard every word she said. She's right. That's the word I was looking for. Well I guess being an author she'd know better descriptions. All I know is that I never had a reaction to a man like that before.
“Too bad you couldn't take a guy like him.” She said.
“I could never date a guy that looks like him. Look at his white hair, it's better than mine! He also looks rich. What would he want with someone like me.” I moped
“WE are not poor Kaggy, and don't worry, tonight is your night. Who knows who you'd meet tonight.” Kikyou said as she walked in to try on her choices.
She's right I would never know who I would meet.
