Eye Candy

Last Chapter: Personal Nurse

Inuyasha thought about Kagome and smiled, she would understand that she was meant for him. Her scent triggered something within him, she was his mate and he was hers. There was nothing in this entire world that would separate them from each other. He would just make sure that Kagome understand that.

Forever

Ever since that night, Inuyasha and Kagome spent hours getting to know each other. Kagome had yelled at him when she saw, what seemed to be a tattoo above her left breast, where her heart was but then forgave him. She found that he and herself had a lot in common. They were both completely independent, they liked listening to American alternative and both liked to be alone. They both liked dogs better than cats, they liked watching cartoons within ten minutes of waking up, they refused to call home to check in, they spent at least an hour per night reading a good book and they both loved raining days and nights.

Inuyasha had spent hours the morning after they had sex saying he was sorry, especially since she was in terrible pain. He had seen the blood that dripped on the floor and that stained the bed sheets, he had smelt her discomfort and pain in her scent and he had seen the several bruises on her body. Kagome had forgiven him as she held his head close to her heart, especially after he had shed a couple of tears saying that he was a bad mate for causing her pain and not being considerate to her. She countered that to make it up, since he wasn't accepting her forgiveness, he could be more considerate now.

"I'll get your lunch Inuyasha-sama." Kagome said.

"Okay." Inuyasha said. He gave Kagome a soft kiss before he let her leave.

Kagome hurriedly got Inuyasha's lunch, three bowls of ramen, a bag of potato chips and diet Pepsi. She smiled. He had let her get accustomed to their mating, even if it was forced. She had learned to love him and they built a bond that she hoped nobody would be able to get into. She had learned a lot about him, he was the son of the Western Lord but thought his father was his brother. He had a sword, Tetsusaiga, and a retainer named Myouga. He had a best friend Sango and several enemies. One was her ex-boyfriend.

"Inuyasha-sama?" Kagome called out.

"Yeah" Inuyasha answered.

Kagome walked in and laid the food on the table. She brought Inuyasha into a sitting position before she began to feed him. True, he could feed himself but he always chose not to and she thought it was cute. Most of the time, sometimes he would tell her she was going slow so to make him mad, she was go even slower. One time he had complained so much she dumped the ramen bowl onto his head and walked out of the room. He had thrown a tremendous tantrum until she walked back into the room with his bathing clothes. Now, she wasn't embarrassed to bathe him and sometimes it turned sexual but not far enough to where they had sex.

"I'm leaving soon." Inuyasha said.

Kagome only nodded.

"You're coming with me." Inuyasha told her.

Kagome looked up at him and raised her slender eyebrow.

"Don't give me that look. You're my mate and besides I can provide for us, you don't ever have to work again." Inuyasha said.

"But I like to work, it keeps me occupied. I won't let you imprison me, I need some of my freedom." Kagome answered as she stared at the bed sheets.

Inuyasha pouted, not just a simple pout but a mega mutant, super puppy pout.

"If you keep making that face, it'll get stuck one day." Kagome said not even looking up at him.

Inuyasha wrinkled his nose and sighed. He wouldn't be able to argue with her, she would never let him win.

"I'll be able to protect you more, especially because of my enemies. Kagome, I finally found you. I'm not going to lose you." Inuyasha said gruffly.

"You never will Inuyasha. I am yours and only yours. We established this on several occasions I believe." Kagome answered, the last statement muttered.

"Yes we have established it. I know you'll never leave me but someone could take her, force you. They'll do it to enrage me and to spite me." Inuyasha said.

Kagome thought about this, they had this discussion several times and each time he had told her something new. She knew that others would use her to get to Inuyasha but she also had her miko powers, the same powers she used to speed up his recovery.

"Okay, fine. But we are going to have to work something out. I can't just do nothing." Kagome said softly.

"I know you like art. We can turn one of the rooms into an art studio, you could make art and sell them." Inuyasha said.

Kagome smiled brightly before hugging him. She felt Inuyasha place a finger under her chin, lifting it up, giving him access to her mouth. She sighed as he kissed her, something she was getting used to. As his tongue indulged her mouth, she felt something slide onto her ring finger. Breaking the kiss she stared at the ring that claimed it, a beautiful ring. Platinum with a 1-karat diamond and two three-fourths karat diamonds on either side and three one-half karat diamonds on either side of the smaller diamonds. Kagome's eyes filled with tears as she looked at Inuyasha.

"So, will you marry me?" Inuyasha asked.

Kagome didn't trust her voice so she nodded, with a sob she leaned and kissed him.

"Come on, my dad is picking us up in about an hour. I gave your resignation to the front desk. We also have to sign the marriage license and papers."

Kagome nodded.

"Don't worry, Rin wanted to talk to you about the wedding plans." Inuyasha said.

She smiled and nodded. They held each other, Inuyasha softly growling to help Kagome sleep. He could tell she was tired, they spent the majority of the night talking. He was upset when she had said her ex-boyfriend was Kouga. He was also disturbed to hear that her cousin had stolen him after only being together for two months. Inuyasha was happy to hear that she wouldn't let him do anything he wanted.

Inuyasha woke when the door opened, there he saw Sesshoumaru and Rin. They smiled at Inuyasha and he smiled back, they saw the ring and Sesshoumaru nodded. Inuyasha had called him to tell him everything, asking for his advice and wisdom. Sesshoumaru told him about humans wanting to have their ceremonies, so Inuyasha had e-mailed him the ring that he thought suited Kagome. Sesshoumaru was glad that this girl accepted.

"Kagome?" Inuyasha said as he woke her up.

"Hmm?" Kagome answered.

Her eyes widened when she saw other people in the room.

"Kagome, this is my father, Sesshoumaru and his mate Rin." Inuyasha said.

Kagome gave a deep bow and stood by Inuyasha. It was a natural habit already, she didn't think about it. She looked over at the two other people in the room. Inuyasha didn't really look like either of them, maybe his father with the hair and eyes but there were no markings on his body and his father seemed to be beautiful instead of handsome. She jumped when Inuyasha gripped her waist and looked at him.

"He's actually my older brother but took me in as a son." Inuyasha explained.

Kagome nodded and smiled to the couple. They loved each other, she could tell by their aura and by their hidden smiles, body language was so easy to read when it wasn't directed toward you. Kagome was so deep in thought, she didn't hear Inuyasha calling her name or hear Rin talking about the wedding. She could only think about life and what transpired between them all those nights ago. It was true that she was still a little afraid of it but she also yearned for it.

"Kagome-chan?" Rin asked.

Kagome snapped her head up and blushed, she hadn't meant to zone out on these people. She heard Inuyasha stifle a laugh and sighed, she wouldn't get anywhere in fighting with him, besides she always won. Although he had been close, his super puppy pout came very close at times.

"I'm sorry. There are a lot on my mind." Kagome explained.

"And there should be, you have made a big decision and I'm sure that you understand that being the mate of an Inu-youkai even Inu-hanyou, you lose a lot of your freedom." Sesshoumaru said.

Kagome nodded. She knew and understood this. Inuyasha showed it in his dominance on several occasions. True, they had yet to re-consummate their relationship but there was no rush, she didn't have the desire for that yet. Kagome was okay with losing some of her freedom, but she would not be forced to live a sheltered life, she was a miko. Her duty had called upon her to help those who were too weak or sick to help themselves.

"Well, let's let the men discuss what they need to discuss, I can answer some of your questions." Rin said.

Kagome looked at Inuyasha, who nodded and gave her a small push. Before she was out the door she looked back at him with a sad look, like she wasn't ready to be without him for a long period of time. Inuyasha smiled at her in reassurance and leaned back.

"So you have chosen this girl as your mate." Sesshoumaru stated, more of a statement than a question.

"Yeah, she's the one for me otou-san." Inuyasha said.

"You've even mated with her, did you know what you were doing?" Sesshoumaru asked.

"Yes. She didn't have much say in it though, the demon blood came out to claim her. I just gave him a little push." Inuyasha said with a small blush.

"She bled a lot?" Sesshoumaru asked.

Inuyasha nodded.

"Did you bleed with her as well? Could have been the next morning when you smelt your own blood." Sesshoumaru said.

Inuyasha nodded once again. He had no idea why that was such a big question.

"I see." Sesshoumaru said.

"Is that a bad thing?" Inuyasha asked.

"No, it's actually a good thing. A soul bond, you and her both bled heavily meaning that your souls intermixed with each other. Your mother and I were the same." Sesshoumaru said.

"Because you have the blood of Inu no Taisho, you both shall live tremendously long." Sesshoumaru said.

"And of our children?" Inuyasha asked.

Sesshoumaru looked really sad.

"You will live to see them die." He said.

Inuyasha looked horrified. He knew that Kagome would never recover from that, hell he didn't even know if he could recover from that. Sesshoumaru looked sad, like he had gone through it himself. Did he though?

"You've seen your child die?" Inuyasha asked.

"Yes. Rin and I have been mated for over three centuries. We were there to watch Inu no Taisho and Izyaoi fall in love and mate and we were there when you were born. Our son came about fifty years after our mating. He died two centuries later, my blood comes from Inu no Taisho but he was not a direct birth from Inu no Taisho plus Rin is human." Sesshoumaru said.

"So Kagome and I will have to live with our children dying before us? I don't think I could handle that, I know Kagome wouldn't be able to handle that at all." Inuyasha said sadly. He really wanted children.

"It hurts yes but think of it like this. You are there for your children, you will be the first people they see and the last people they see. They take comfort in that, our son said so as well. He was actually happy that we were there to hold his hand as he died." Sesshoumaru said.

"So what about us and Inu no Taisho. We are from his direct breeding, we too will die before him?" Inuyasha asked.

"No. We will die after him, a long time after him. He gave us a lot of his power, to keep us alive and to keep our chosen mates alive. When we die, our mates will die as well. You and your mate as Rin and myself, we are bonded through the soul. We will always be together as mates in our next lives." Sesshoumaru said.

"Thanks otou-san. It helps." Inuyasha said.

"Go to bed son, I'm sure you'll have an earful after Rin speaks to her." Sesshoumaru said, taking pity on him when he winced in fear.

"Great, how am I supposed to sleep now? Mom goes crazy sometimes and I know she's going to kick my ass when and if Kagome tells her how we mated." Inuyasha muttered.

"I doubt she will." Sesshoumaru said.

Inuyasha looked at him with questions all over his face.

"I took your mother that way as well, it was more force but she loved it in the end just like Kagome did." Sesshoumaru said.

Inuyasha made an "o" and smiled. Now he could sleep without worrying if he was going to get maimed. His father was next to him, proud of him and his wife and mother were talking somewhere. Inuyasha felt complete. Kagome would stay by him for the rest of their lives and beyond that.

"Come Rin, we will go. Inuyasha and his mate must speak. They have much to talk about. We must also speak." Sesshoumaru said.

He looked at Kagome and gave her a small smile and Rin gave her a huge smile and gave her a big hug. Kagome bowed to Sesshoumaru and Rin, shocked when Sesshoumaru's index finger hooked underneath her chin. She looked up at them and stared, she had questions about this.

"You don't have to bow to us Kagome-chan you're our family. Our daughter, you have as much respect as we do." Rin said.

Kagome shook her head.

"You took Inuyasha in and raised him to be the man he is today. I owe you respect for that, thankfulness for what you've raised in the world." Kagome said.

"That may be true. You have healed him, gave him a reason to live without making such foolish mistakes. That is what we should be thanking you for." Sesshoumaru said.

Rin nodded in agreement. It was nice to see him open up to someone other than herself and Inuyasha.

"I guess we should thank each other." Kagome said.

They nodded.

"Get some rest Kagome-chan. You'll be moving into your new home this time tomorrow." Rin said.

She watched as they walked out of the hospital room and smiled. She was happy to have met them and to have met Inuyasha. She jumped and shivered when she felt his claws grazed the small of her back, she turned around and smiled at Inuyasha before crawling into bed with him.

"You'll stay with me right?" Inuyasha asked.

"Forever and always." Kagome answered.

Inuyasha held her tightly and kissed her gently and caressing her face. He couldn't have asked for a more perfect woman. With another smile, he fell asleep with the other half of his soul right next to him.
