Chapter 2: Waking up after falling
Kagome woke up, her eyes groggy and hazed over. She sat up and rubbed her head with her hand. Looking around the room that she was currently in.
She gasped as she sat up fully, sitting up rather to quickly, a pain shooting up her through her abdomens. Hissing in pain, and covered her body with her arms.
“Oh, good. You're awake.” Kagome gasped and looked over to the voice that seemed to appear out of no where.
Looking over to the woman that had bluish silvery hair and sunset eyes, and her adorable panther ears. She was carrying a tray. A few cups of tea, and a plate of fruits and assorted meats.
“How are you feeling?” She asked as she walked up to her bed, and sat on the side, setting the tray on the side table. Her eyes were beautiful, Kagome just got lost in the redness of the sunset in them.
She didn't know what to say to her. “I… I'm fine.” She managed to say.
The woman smiled smally, and closed her eyes, reaching over to the tray and picked up a cup of tea, passing it to the girl in the bed.
“You were found in the rubble. Had we not come along a demon would have.” She said. “What's your name?”
“Uhn, Kagome.” The girl said, as the woman smiled, “Hana, nice to meet you, Kagome.”
Kagome took a sip of the tea, and placed it back on the tray. Hana stepped off the bed and stretched, setting a hand on her hip and smirked, “Well come on, you can't stay in bed all day.”

Kagome took off the covers and slipped out of the bed. She wasn't dressed in the white dress she wore earlier that morning. Instead, a pair of shorts clothed her legs and a blue blouse, covered her body.
“Your dress was completely ruined so these arew just some of the clothes from around the city.” Hana said.
“Ci… city?”
“That's right.”
Hana walked outside, and Kagome followed. Looking at the city, high skyscrapers reached the top of the under part of the streets above.

People were thriving down here, happy. There was no war, no fighting, no bloodthirsty demons or humans.
“Yhis place is amazing. Its so much cleaner than it is on the surface.” Kagome said, her hands on the black rain, leaning over. Hana stood next to her, with her forearms on it too.
“Well, I'm glad you like it here. Why don't ewe show you around?” Hana said as she looked over at the girl. Kagome looked at her and smiled.
Hana started walking down the stairs. Kagome followed close behind.
~~
Once reaching the bottom of the stair case, the city seemed so much bigger. Kagome looked up, and Hana laughed at her antics.
“Hana, Hana, Hana!!! You're here, you're here!!!” Hana turned around to see the city children, human, demon and hanyou.
“What kind of city is this?” Kagome asked as she watched Hana bend over and set her knees on the ground and hugged the kids, “One that allows all races to live together. Human, demon and hanyou. I mean, that's why my friends father created this place, with a little help from my mother.” She said as she looked up at Kagome.
“Hana's gonna tell us a story, get comfy!!” one of the children said, as she pulled Hana's hand and led her over to one of the buildings. Another little girl, with turquoise hair and fish gill like ears tugged on the hem of Kagome's shorts. She was adorable when Kagome looked down at her and smiled. The little girl grabbed Kagome's finger, and pulled her over to the rest of the circle.
Kagome sat next to Hana as she picked up the little girl and sat her on her lap. She clung to Kagome's blouse, and allowed her to rub her head, and stroke her hair.
Hana did the same to another little girl. Blonde hair and sea blue eyes, simple beautiful.
“Well, long ago. The great dog demon and panther demon lived. But sadly enough, there were demons and humans that pitted war so many times. So, once they took human mates, and they had hanyou children, they wanted the best for their children. Knowing that they'd be killed if any on had the chance. So the made this city, to them and any one that would be more than happy to live in peace. In time, a city was formed. And in even more time, hanyou offspring were born. We have been safe down here ever since. And now ever since the great dog and panther demons death, their hanyou children watch over this place. To keep their home and its people within it, safe.”
The children loved this story. The story of their existence and survival.
Kagome didn't know the troubles they had, “So that is how this place came to be.” She said.

Hana nodded, answering the silent question in her voice. “My mother and father loved each other, and after meeting the Inutaisho and his mate, they had decided that their children could not live a life in danger. So they started to build this place.” She looked up at the great sturdy buildings above them, still stroking the child's hair, who had fallen asleep in her arms.
Kagome was surprised, she was always taught that the hanyou's were a filthy race, and did not deserve to live. Always stealing and killing, but now she understood that it was only to protect and feed loved ones. If anything this race was the kindest and purest she had met so far.
“Lady Hana,” A woman called. The girl in Kagome's arms ran up to her, assuming that was the child's mother as she reached down and picked up the young hanyou.
“Yes, what is it? Is something wrong?” She asked as she stood up and walked over to the woman. The next few minutes or so, they talked quietly. A conversation that only included them. Even the children knew as they just watched the two females talk.
Hana would nod her head in agreement, a gentle smile graced her lips and bowed to the woman and turned back to Kagome and the kids, “Well, good news and bad. Which one, kids”
“Bad news first Lady Hana.”
“The bad news is that I will not be able to play with you later. There are people who are in need of bandaging and first aid. Seems that there was a fight along the way.” All the kids groaned in sadness and pouted, “But the good news is, if you're really goo and nice, you can ask Inuyasha and maybe he will. And not only that, but maybe our new friend will as well.” She said as she looked up at Kagome on the last sentence.
She nodded and held out her hands for the kids to latch onto, and Hana lead them to the main gates, where they were to greet the warriors back home. The crowd was immense and the children clung to both of the women's hands, not wanting to get lost in the faces.
The sound of latches and tumblers moving and locks clicking caught Kagome's attention. A race like this found a great way of security and safety.
The giant metal doors slowly swung open with the help of some demons pulling them. In front< Kagome noticed, a man with silver hair with his sword hitched on his shoulder, and people behind him, who held carcasses and bones.
“Take the bones to Sango, she's been in need of new weapons, but have Miroku, purify it first, we don't want another incident like last time.” The man said, “Bring the food over here, and start skinning.”
His words were harsh, but the people seemed to understand that he was only doing it for the good of the people around him.

“Oi, Inuyasha. Over here!” Hana called, releasing one of her hands as one of the children ran up to the man with silver hair, Kagome had realized that the moment he responded to the name, that must be him. She flinched at remembering why she was down here.
She watched as he picked up the child and set her on his shoulder. And smiled as she giggled and clapped her hands. Then wrap her arms softly on his head.
