Chapter 4. Exploration

Inuyasha had showed her every thing. From meeting the people, to the shrines that, yes even hanyou's have. They were very civilized, for a race that she had heard were despicable beasts. What's up with that?

Dedicated to the founders of this city, the shrine was like any other. One of them, the man, was Inuyasha's father, while the woman was Hana's mother. Or so Inuyasha had said.

They had sacrificed so much to make sure that those down here stay safe. He even brought up the sacred jewel.

“Even they helped protect it. After heaven refused to deal with the human world, they took it with them, and hadn't been seen in hundreds of years. But if that's the truth, then they must be guarding it well.” He said as he continued.

Kagome looked up at him. Even he had no idea it was missing, something was definitely wrong.

Inuyasha looked down at her, with a face that told him that she was curious. He laughed, and she cocked her head to the side, and narrowed her eyes a bit. He grabbed her shoulder and walked her away from the shrine.

Down the narrow roads of the hidden city, he lead her towards a small house. The sound of banging metal filtered the air and the smell of smoke clung to the metal scent.

Out of the door, a woman stepped out with something heavy and white in her gloved hands. She stuck the white scythe shaped object in a container of water. From Kagome's spot, she heard the sizzle of the heat on the white thing.

Wiping the sweat off her brow she looked over at her friend, “Oh, Inuyasha. How did the hunt go?” She said.

“Sango, I think Kohaku should help you with that.” Inuyasha replied, “The hunt went well, you'll be getting new weapons and armor by the end of the week.”

Sango seemed to brighten up after that, “We've been in need of new aromor. This will be great.”

Her gaze went from the half demon, to the girl behind him. “who's the girl? I've never seen her here before.” Inuyasha looked behind him, seeing that Kagome had slightly clung to his back. He moved out of the way, “Sango, this is Kagome.” He said as he placed the girl in front of him, placing his hands on her shoulders, “She's new here. I'm just showing her around.”

”She's going to need a place to sleep. Isn't she?” Sango asked, removing the gloves from her hands and setting them on the barrel of water, and walking over to them.

“Hana already has a place; I'll take her there when we get there.” He said.

“Is it that empty room next to yours?”

”Yeah, it is” He said, “Hana said that it may be a good idea if she was near one of us just in case she needs help. Well, just until she can handle herself and finds a place on her own.” He looked down at the girls raven hair.

“Sounds understandable. Word of advice, when and if you ever meet Miroku, be aware of his `wandering hand'.” She said, the comment aiming for Kagome.

“trust me that idiot would think twice. Remember the last time he hit on another girl?” He laughed slightly.

“You think? I'm the one that gave him the black eye and broken nose.”

“Of course the nose was an accident.” Kagome couldn't help but laugh with them.

She was starting to warm up to these people. Sadness rained on her heart. She had to talk to `him' tonight.
