A/N: Well guys, I got some nice things said about this one so I'm going to continue. But please bear with the fact that I tend to be very busy, so I might not update for 2 weeks or so, but I doubt it would be to long. Um to answer a question, Yes he has to, LOL, even though I didn't want to make it that way, but I feel it adds more to the story. ^__^ And thanks Zayr of the Rifts for the tips you gave! Ok now let me shut up and type!

Fallen Angel

Chapter One: Assignments

~*~*~*~

"Summer time….. heaven shined on us it was the summer time, SUMMER TIME…."

"No one's gonna fall in love with you and that voice Kagome." Souta said outside the bathroom door.

"Who's talking to you Souta?" She said with a sharp edge in her tone.

"You're talking to me right now." He said in a matter-of-factly tone.

"It's too early for you to be disturbing me, especially in the bathroom."

"Scrub all you like sis, you're still gonna smell."

That's when she got out. Souta knew better that anyone else when it came to her sister. For instance, to get her out of the shower, comment on her smell. That way she'll come out all huffy and puffy ready to make a speech about how she smells just fine. However, he was surprised to find that she just walked right by him without a word to say. It didn't take him too long to realize the bathroom was his for the taking, so he just shrugged his shoulder indifferently and walked inside.

Kagome was your average girl. Smart, pretty, and nice. You'd think this combination wouldn't be so hard to find, but nowadays all girls thought about was money and make-up. So Kagome isn't your average girl. She is a one of a kind.

She long since dressed up and got ready for school. She took a little longer in the shower than usual because she was thinking. Lately all she has been doing was thinking. Mostly about her life and when it will stop getting boring. She simply shrugged it off after five minutes of just thinking. She took her breakfast, kissed her mother, and walked off to school.

"Now can anyone tell me what's wrong with this girl?" Asked a short old woman.

"………………" . Silence.

"Oh come on guys, this isn't so hard." She tried again, maybe this time someone will know."

"She is looking for love Sister Kaede." Said a girl not who looked like she was in her teens.

"Very good Sango. She is looking for love. I can't believe you guys didn't get it! That had to be the easiest thing to notice." Kaede went on.

It had been about two years in heaven with these `kids' and everything she said seemed to go in one ear and out the other. At this rate they would never become angels. There were only some that actually listened to her, Sango being one of them.

"But Sister, how are we supposed to know the signs?" Asked someone from the back. She let out a sigh. She only explained these things a million times…

"Oh for the love of… can't you see? She was singing sappy songs, not paying attention to her surroundings, of course her thoughts practically yell it!" Kaede was going on one of her rants again. She stopped when she heard the students groan.

"If you are all so tired of hearing me say these things, then pay attention. As a matter of fact, all of you are to write 3 pages of signs when someone wants to fall in love. Due tomorrow. Class dismissed," She said.

All the students left the room with scowls on their faces. Jeez, you'd think they would be happy in heaven. Sango was about to leave when Kaede called her back inside.

"Oh Sango, can you come here for a moment?"

"Yes Sister?" Sango asked warily. She hoped she wasn't in trouble.

"Now now child, don't be afraid. I just wanted to have a word with you."

"Go on..."

"Well, Sango, it's pretty obvious that you are the more advanced student in my class. You are a hard worker."

"Well, I try my best. I want to be like my mother and father." She said proudly.

Kaede smiled at the girl's drive. She really did admire her parents. Heck everyone did. They were one of the strongest Seraphim angels she had. They always took down the enemy with ease. It was a great loss when they were killed by the lord of the underworld himself. But despite the loss heaven still prevailed, and since the oldest direct descendant from them was in training, they had no worries. Which brings Kaede back to what she was trying to say.

"Of course Sango. However, before you can do that you have to be a successful guardian angel. Which is why I called you here in the first place." Sango was trying to figure out what Kaede was trying to say. She hoped it was something good.

"Sango, I think you are ready to start your hands on training as a guardian angel." Kaede said happily. Mostly because of the reaction she got from Sango. It was a mixture of shock, longing, happiness, and a whole lot of things.

"Oh my goodness are you serious Sister?" Kaede nodded. Sango just started to jump around with excitement.

"But Sister, who will I be guarding?" Sango asked panting. Jumping around makes you tired.

"Oh right. You will be guarding and helping, Miss Kagome Higurashi."

A/N: Haha finally. It took forever to get this done. I am in the beginning of my vacation and I'm working very hard for you guys. Sorry if it seems short or rushed but like I said it will get better. Until next time, Bye.
