Chapter 1: Meeting

~~ Spring March in Tokyo Japan ~~~

It was just an ordinary day. Everything was just going fine for Kagome. Her whole life was a mess basically. She had been dealing drugs, fighting in the ring, and illegal street racing just to earn the money she so earnestly needed. Kagome was 21 she had no family but her little brother Souta, 9, and her adopted kitsune child Shippo 7 ½. It was hard living in the streets, you had to do what you had to do to earn money.

Kagome sighed, she had just been laid off from her old job as a waitress. Now drinking coffee in a diner she hastily searched the newspaper for jobs.

~~* Meanwhile~~*

" So Kikyo's going on vacation huh" a man with a dragon's tail said sipping on his coffee.

"Yeah, and I need someone to fill in for her", said the white haired man holding his head in stress. " She just ran off without saying a word, next thing I know I get a postcard saying:

Dear Inu Baby,

Sorry to run out on you like that, but you know me like I know myself. Business could just be so stressful sometimes and I figured I needed a vacation. So ta ta sweetie, I'm in Hawaii, I'll call you when I get back.

" So that's what she wrote" the man said once again taking a sip from his coffee." Do you know when she's coming back"

" No" he answered sounding annoyed, suddenly cheering up " hey how about Sango"

"No"

" Why not, come on its not like you need her every time of the day"

" Inuyasha, how dare you assume I have no work and disregard my feeling for your own personal issues", the man said pretending to be hurt, touching his heart in the process.

" Yeah right Miroku, work my ass, all you do is flirt with the girls in the lounge, the receptionist, and Sango, you grope almost each one of them",the man now called Inuyasha said crossing his arms.

" Hey, don't involve my precious Sango in this, its not my fault your secretary ran out on you" Miroku said once again taking a sip of his coffee " Plus you could always hire a new one meanwhile Kikyo's gone"

" But then I have to pay who ever gets the job then, while Sango can still be paid the same amount she originally gets and we have to train them on how things work"

No answer

" Aww come on Miroku, have a heart"

"No, n-o, no, get it in your head Inuyasha, one simple word, NO"

Miroku glanced up to see Inuyasha muttering a string of colorful curse words"

" Fine then, lets go", Inuyasha spat grabbing his coat.

Outside the diner, Inuyasha was walking fast leaving Miroku to catch up.

" Hey wait up", Miroku yelled running after Inuyasha.

" Hey this is my chance to get a job and earn big money"; Kagome thought grabbing her sweater trying to catch up to the two men. She just overheard their conversation and thought of it as a good opportunity. Running quickly to the exit she pushed open the door turning her head in every direction, trying to see which way they went.

" There" she said spotting them waiting to cross the intersection. She ran as fast as she could as she saw them continue walking. " Hey wait up" she yelled finally catching up to the two. Catching her breath she stopped in the front off them holding her hands to them, signaling them to stop. The two stopped abruptly not wanting to bump into Kagome.

" I heard you guys are looking for a substitute" Kagome spoke looking at the two intently, looking to see if they were going to say anything.

Then " No" came the immediate response from the white haired man called Inuyasha. " Were not so don't come looking" " Come on Miroku breaks going to be over soon, you don't want Sesshoumaru to fire us right"

Kagome looked down fallen, she sighed saying " Well sorry to bother you, I was just hoping to find a job" She started walking left of Inuyasha when suddenly

" Hey, hey don't go yet, we totally have a job open for you" Miroku said pushing Inuyasha out of the way ignoring the flaming hanyou behind him.

"But he said" Kagome said starting to speak but was cut off by Miroku. " Who cares what he says, he's just grumpy because he hasn't slept good" Miroku said grabbing Inuyasha rubbing his head and messing up his hair as if a dog.

"If you' re still interested in the job, meet us at this address for an interview" Miroku said getting a business card from his shirt pocket and handing it to Kagome.

" By the way my name's Miroku and this is my friend and business partner Inuyasha" he said holding out his hand. "

" Well my names Kagome, nice to meet you two", Kagome said putting the card into her pocket and shaking Miroku's hand. Before walking away she said " have a nice day you two, and Inuyasha I hope you sleep well, bye"

Miroku sighed and started walking. " Oi, Miroku you perv you can't just handout business cards to every pretty girl you see, what about if she doesn't have any skills"

Inuyasha said walking side by side with Miroku.

" Well there's still that interview" Miroku said. " and did I just hear you just call Kagome pretty" " No", he spat. " Well I thought she was pretty cute" " Oh shut up, now come on' Inuyasha said hitting Miroku upside the head, heading towards their building.
