Chapter 5 Get Ready

It was the next morning, sunny and bright throughout the city of Tokyo, the light shining through Sesshoumaru's office. Inuyasha was there, drinking his coffee seated in a chair with his feet perched on top of Sesshoumaru's desk. Sesshoumaru growled " Inuyasha do you have any respect for my furniture at all" he said staring at Inuyasha's perched feet. "Yea, but not for you" Inuyasha said simply, a smirk making its way to his face. " Well if you don't get your damn feet off, I'll have to deduct 20 percent of your payment. " Sesshoumaru growled, smirking at Inuyasha's cowering form, he seated himself right back up again, " Fine, fine, I'll respect your stupid furniture, now hurry up and check up Kagome's background, I don't got all day you know." " Very well, sit your ass down then", he said quickly typing something onto the computer" "hmmm" he said, curiously looking at the screen.

" What the fuck, don't just sit there, get the fuck out of the way and let me see" Inuyasha said going around the desk making his way to the screen. " Well, well, I guess our little Kagome has a criminal record," Inuyasha said, a smirk falling once again on his face. " Lets see notorious gang member, drug dealer, suspected grand theft auto, illegal street racing, suspected shooter off rival gang, and she's got a bounty on her head. They're offering money for her arrest." " How much?" Sesshoumaru asked not really caring at all. " 10, 000 dollars for her arrest, so are you going to hire her as a temporary for Kikyo?" Inuyasha asked looking at his brother. " We'll have to hide her secret then, tell no one, plus you need a secretary and I need her skills to destroy the other company's business" Sesshoumaru said grinning, making the tips of his fingers meet.

" What do you mean by that?" Inuyasha asked curiously looking at his brother. " Well Kagome said she knew how to make viruses right?" "Yea so" " Well I plan on hiring her to make a virus and destroy all our enemy corporations, plus she could hack into their systems and steal some info" he said. " Oh" was all Inuyasha said. " Call her, and tell her she's hired, tell her to get a suit and come to work tomorrow at 9 am sharp." Sesshoumaru said turning off his computer. " Yea, yea, don't get your thong in a bunch" Inuyasha said slowly making his way out of Sesshoumaru's office waving his hand sarcastically bye. " GET OUT NOW!" Sesshoumaru growled, Inuyasha quickly ran out closing the door behind him.

Inuyasha made his way to the rooftop of the building walking in on an angry Sango and an unconscious monk or the ground. He smiled knowing that Miroku had done it once again. Sango was just about to take advantage of Miroku's form and choke him to death when she noticed someone watching them. She let go of Miroku's neck, leaving handprints and got up. She quickly brushed off the dirt off her dress then looked up meeting Inuyasha's gaze. " So is she going to get the job, because you know it gets pretty boring with Rin helping Sesshoumaru all the time, I need other people to talk to you know" she said looking at him. Miroku was still unconscious, lying on the ground. " Inuyasha," she said quirking an eyebrow at him. " So did she get it or not", she said pressing Inuyasha to tell her. Inuyasha broke turned around, his back facing Sango. He didn't feel like facing her annoyed glare. " Yea she got it," he said with a bored tone. " Oh yay, aren't you happy, I mean works going to be more enjoying," she said looking at his retreating form.

Inuyasha started towards the door, but he was stopped by Sango's voice. " Inuyasha is something wrong, I mean you don't seem so happy about the news," Sango asked. " Sango Kagome's a criminal, ok, you mustn't let it out or else are business will be in newspapers everywhere, headlines saying Jidai Corps. Hire Criminal, rumors will spread slowly ruining our business, keep it a secret, anyway she's just a temporary, Sesshoumaru is in need of her skills," Inuyasha said. He then started walking towards the door again, when Sango spoke, " What do you mean she's a criminal, she seems so sweet, what possibly could she do wrong to make her a criminal." " She has a bounty on her head, 10 grand, Sango, she killed someone and she's wanted for theft." Inuyasha said. " Oh, ok" Sango said not wanting to ask anymore questions, wanting to ask Kagome herself. Then Inuyasha turned around with a smile on his face " Come on Sango, and bring Miroku with you, I feel like taking a day off, now lets go before he catches us" he said making a motion with his hand signaling her to hurry up. Sango grinned, knowing they were going to skip work. She looked at the unconscious Miroku, knowing the only way to wake him up. She leaned down and kissed his lips, leaning back to survey the result. Even though the Miroku was a hentai, Sango still had feelings for him. Soon Miroku woke with a lecherous grin on his face. " Miroku no time for groping, were going to skip work again, so hurry up!" she snapped getting up and running to the door. " Yea, yea I'm getting up, how long have I been knocked out for anyway," Miroku said standing and rubbing his head, his question left unanswered for Inu and Sango were already down the stairs. " Guys" he called but no response came " Hey, wait up" he yelled to them running fast towards the door and down the stairs.

" Hey Kagome you coming to the match tonight," yelled a heavy built Japanese man in about his 30's. " Yea why, do I got a new competition," she yelled back, making her way towards him. " Yea his name's Takato, a big boy, gots muscles and rumors say he's a real good fighter, watch out ok, I don't want my best player to die out there." He said with concern in his voice. " Oh shut up with your " I'm so concerned about you Kagome fakeness", its not like I'm going to die," she said grabbing a drink from the bar." " Yea, yea, I really do care though, plus I need you for the competitions with the rest of the team," he said drying a glass with a cloth. " When is the match tonight anyway, I have to go to a race today," Kagome said gulping the last contents of her drink. " About 8:30, so can you make it or not, if you don't come I'll get the other guys to fight for you." " No don't, I need the money to pay for Shippo's and Souta's school, the payments overdue, and I don't want to disappoint the crowd." When she got up from her seat the man spoke " hey wait, so when are you going to get here" " I'll be here at 8 so don't start with out me, bye," she said waving her hand.

That was all she said before heading towards the door of the club, it wasn't to crowded in daylight, but at night it was filled with many people, dancers, hookers, and people just to enjoy the music. The club was filled with dancers hitting the dance floor, moving their body to the beat of the music that erupted from the DJ, yea it was a wonderful club. This club is known as Tokyo X, the infamous club of all Japan. Most of the people would go down to the battle cage and watch the fights, people would often bet money, seeing if the one they vote for would win. If the club's team lost to another local fighting team the money betted would go them. Kagome was one of the best fighters in the league, along with her team. If you give up or lose the match you lose the money, even if you beg for your life you would be let out of the cage, but you have to add another 100 bucks to the prize. If you're in a team the money will be divided equally among the members of the group. Yea it was an awesome club, but it was also a place for drug dealers to sell their drugs. Many fights would take place their due to people losing all their money in a game of cards or pool. This is what Tokyo X was like.

Making her way out of the club she pushed the door open. Kagome sighed, letting the cool breeze flip her hair around, she worried if she was able to get that job. Clearing her thoughts and just forgetting about the job, she walked down the streets heading towards the park. Kagome had always found the park peaceful and lovely. It was beautiful with its glistening pond, variety of flowers, and playful children running around, it was a great way to take her stress away and relieve her for a while. She met many mothers with their children there, she'd let the mothers' rest and she would look after the kids, playing with them. She loved those times, wishing she was one of those kids, she envied them, if only her childhood had been that wonderful, with a caring person by her side.

When finally reaching the park, which was in the center of Tokyo's tall buildings, she was greeted with a smile from a friend of hers. " Hello Aya," she said walking to the lady who was seated on a bench watching her daughter play. " Hello Kagome, so how was your day," Aya said setting her book down and clearing her grocery bags, making room for Kagome on the bench. "Well I guess, I applied for a new job, so how's yours?" " Fine everything is well and Ecchi called and said he'd be back at the end of this month" she said.

(A/N: Ecchi is Aya's husband's name, he'll be coming back from a business trip. Sorry ppl I don't really know how to spell some Japanese names ok, so bare with me)

Kagome smiled, she knew that Aya and her little daughter would be really happy of his home coming after being away for a business trip. " Kagome, Kagome!" a little girl hollered about the age of 7. She came running down from the grass to Kagome and her mother. " Oh hello Akari, how are you" Kagome said smiling kindly at the child in front of her. " I'm fine, and I'm so happy that daddy's gonna come home" she said with joy, " Kagome you wanna come to my play, its gonna be so much fun" " Can she come mommy?" she asked looking at her mother. " Yes she can dear, but if that's ok with Kagome," she said proceeding to read her book.

Akari turned her head to Kagome's and asked " So are you gonna come Kagome, because I would be so happy, and you could see me in my new kimono that mommy made" " Sure I'd go, so when is it?" Kagome asked. " This Friday at 12 in school, oh I'm so excited," she said squealing.
" Oh great I'm be sure to make it, I won't miss it for the world," Kagome said looking at the pleased smile of Akari. " Now come on, let your mother rest while we go swing" Kagome said taking the girls hand in her own and walking to the playground.

They played and talked but then the sun began to set and soon Aya and Akari had to go home. " Akari come on now, its getting dark, we have to go home," Aya called getting up from the bench. " Coming momma, let me say bye to Kagome first," Akari yelled. " Bye Kagome, momma said we have to go now, see you some other time." " Well ok then, but I'll walk you guys to your house to make sure you get home safely," she said walking with Akari. When they reached Aya, Kagome picked up some of the grocery bags helping Aya carry them.

When reaching their home Kagome set down the bags. " Thank you Kagome I appreciate the help, and thanks for walking us home, it gets pretty scary when it becomes dark, take care," Aya said closing the door to her home. Kagome knew what went on at night in Tokyo's street, she was one of those people who ventured the night. She raced the streets of downtown and went to Tokyo's hottest club. Looking up at the clock tower Kagome checked the time. It was just about 6:40, almost time for the race to begin. Rushing through the streets she made her way through alleys an various buildings. When she got to an old worn down building in the old part of Tokyo she entered. That was where she held her things, she kept all her gear in an old locker. She dressed quickly into her racing clothes.

She was dressed in a tight leather outfit. It was black with red and white stripes along the long sleeves and along her leg, it zipped right down the front to come off. With that she had a pair of black boots and helmet that came alone with her motorcycle. Yea she had a motorcycle along with her black supra, but unlike her supra, which she won, she put the motorcycle together by herself from parts she got at the junk yard. Her motorcycle was pure black with yellow flames.

( A/N: srry ppl but I don't know much about cars ok. So yeah, but I am a big fan of the colors and some cars. Bare with me and ohh yea some characters are a little Out Of Character, but they still go along the lines of the anime)

Packing up all her gear which consisted of swords, clothes, a gun, bows and arrows, long fighting stick, ninja stars, and double swords, she left the building, all her belongings in a backpack and one duffel bag. Her swords and such not packed into the bags. Kagome knew that if she left her things in there too long they would get jacked, so from time to time she would change locations, usually holding her rides and things in a garage. Walking out she heard whistles from the boys. Yea this always happened, at least some one noticed her.

She got in her supra and drove to the tracks. Upon reaching her destination the streets were crowded with people. Cars were lining up at the start line and motors were roaring. Kagome looked around and saw the jeering crowd, it wasn't her first time doing this, she had a passion for racing. Just to feel the speed and the feeling of just wanting to escape and getting away from all the problems. Racing gave her that illusion and feeling, and to Kagome it was wonderful.

(A/N: Hi ppl, ok well srry for the mean cliff hanger, next chapter is the racing scene and fighting. Sorry for taking long on updates, I have school and I'll work on it whenever I have time. And sorry if the story is going slow, once the next chapter is over and everything is laid out so you really understand the story is going to get faster pace.
