Kagome opened her eyes and mumbled softly at the sunlight prying at her eyelids. Squinting her eyes shut she ducked her head against something firm and warm. When she inhaled it hit her what the warm thing she was wrapped around was. It was Inu Yasha. A soft blush spread across her cheeks and she ducked her head again, hoping she hadn't woke him. Secretly, she was enjoying lying next to him so early in the morning.

Inu Yasha pulled the covers over his head and mumbled something about the sun in his eyes and yawned. "Kagome...shut the blinds, please?" he asked half asleep.

The girl nodded meekly and reached over him and flipped the rod a few times letting the blinds shutter. She lied back down and curled back up beside him, surprised to hear that all the kids were still asleep. The pool really must have worn them out yesterday.

Inu Yasha peeked his head out from under the covers and yawned. "The sun hurts my eyes," he said as he buried his face into the pillows trying to catch a few more z's.

Kagome nodded and buried her face into his shoulder just content to be lying next to him.

Her source of warmth stretched and cracked an eye open. "Aren't the kids normally up by now?" he asked.

She pinched him under his arm. "Shhh!" she hissed. "Don't jinx us!"

"Owwww, don't do that, it hurts," he hissed under his breath and pinched her back.

Kagome growled and bit the side of his neck facing towards her, sinking her teeth into his flesh but not breaking the skin.

Inu Yasha growled. "Hey, now! I didn't say you could do that."

She winced and slapped a hand over his mouth. "Shhh! You'll wake the kids!"

He opened his mouth and bit her fingers.

Kagome just shot him a glare and growled.

Inu Yasha smirked. "Can't take it when its handed back to ya, can you?"

A sudden sharp pain started shooting up from the inside of his thigh, dangerously close to the family jewels. "I find pleasure in pain, Hun, so by all means," she muttered and she leaned closer to him. "Turn me on."

Inu Yasha froze and shot her a scowl. "Move your hand away from there."

She moved her hand and rolled out of the bed, obviously not going to be able to get anymore sleep today.

He grabbed her arm and yanked her back onto the bed and leaned over her. "Say you're sorry," Inu Yasha stated dryly.

Kagome grunted and looked sourly up at him. "For what?"

"For being mean this morning," Inu Yasha said as he stared down at her.

She ran over the morning's events and her eyes softened. She sighed and looked off to the side breathing out softly. "I'm sorry," she said quietly.

Inu Yasha began tickling her sides. "Say what? I didn't hear you?"

Kagome squealed and wrapped her fingers around his wrists trying to tug his hands away. "I'm sorry!" she gasped out in between squeals and laughter.

He kept tickling her. "Yeah, right," he said between laughs.

The girl took a deep breath and heaved, all in one motion rolling Inu Yasha over so she was straddling the top of him, and holding his hands above his head. She breathed heavily as she looked down into his face, trying to regain her composure.

Inu Yasha's brown eyes widened as he looked up at her.

She swallowed a bit harder than usually and stared into his deep brown eyes, finding herself for the thousandth time lost in them.

He wrinkled his nose at her in a playful way. "What's the matter, Kagome?"

Kagome grunted and pushed herself up, rocking herself back and sitting on top of him. "Nothing, why would anything be the matter?" she asked evenly.

Inu Yasha blinked as he looked at her. "You just got quiet all of the sudden, is all."

"I was admiring your eyes," she said honestly, in a soft voice.

He tilted his head slightly and smirked. "Well, there is nothing special about them; they are the same as yours."

She shook her head. "Mine are grey. Yours are brown." She smiled as she looked at him. "Like chocolate."

Inu Yasha smiled. "So, I like the color of your eyes better, mine are just ordinary. Yours remind me of stormy skies right before the rain," he said in all honesty.

The girl blinked a few times, and again felt herself studying his eyes. "Yours hold... a lot in them… and yet, nothing at all..." she whispered softly.

He laughed. "That's because I'm empty headed."

She smiled. "That's not true."

Inu Yasha rolled his eyes. "Oh, come on, even I know I'm not the brightest person in the world."

A shake of her head was what he got in response, followed by a sigh. "Can't you just take my flattery?"

He raised a brow. "I was just agreeing with you."

She smirked. "Oh, so now you're egotistical?

He huffed. "Oh, shut up."

She grinned and leaned down a bit, a hand on either side of his head her hair tumbling around her face to encase him with her gaze. "I win."

Inu Yasha narrowed his dark eyes at her. "Ok, fine, you win."

She smiled wryly. "What are you plotting..." she murmured as she stared into the depths of his eyes, trying to read something, anything, in them. "I know you aren't just going to let me take the crown so easily.

He sighed. "Too tired to fight," Inu Yasha said as he closed his eyes, faking sleep.

Kagome smirked and leaned forward, flicking her tongue around the rim of his ear and nipping at the lobe. "Is that so?"

Inu Yasha's eye twitched as he laid there. "What are you doing?"

"Eating you alive!" She grinned before she dove in growling and snapping at his ear.

He growled back at her. "I won't go down with out a fight, damn it." Inu Yasha used his body and flipped her over so he was looking down on her once again. "I win, score is tied."

She laughed looking up at him. "For now, that is!" she said coyly.

Inu Yasha looked deep into her eyes. "It's a tie, I said." He leaned closer to her face, his hot breath on her skin. "I say we leave it that way."

Kagome's breathing hitched slightly as she gazed back at him, her silver orbs unblinking.

He leaned over her lips and placed a soft kiss on them. Inu Yasha pulled back quickly. "We should check on the kids, they are too quiet," he muttered under his breath.

The girl beneath him nodded absently her face heating slightly, as she looked up at him.

He moved off her. "I'm sorry, Kagome," Inu Yasha said as he got off the bed and pulled on some black jeans that he found laying on the floor.

Kagome sat up quietly, staring down at the floor, her hair tumbling over her shoulders. "Why do you always do that?" she asked quietly.

Inu Yasha shrugged. "I feel like I'm taking advantage and it feels wrong."

"You don't even feel anything for me, do you?"

He turned to look at her, hurt flashing in his eyes. "If I didn't, I wouldn't do anything for you."

She looked up at him with tears shining in her eyes. "Then why don't you ever kiss me for real? Why do I have to live off of fragments and whispers of your lips?"

He moved over to her. "Oh, please don't cry over me, I'm not worth it." Inu Yasha raised a hand and cupped her cheek.

Kagome just stood up and walked out of the room shaking her head.

Inu Yasha followed her and grabbed her arm swinging her around to face him. He lowered his head to hers and gave her a passionate kiss. She whimpered slightly in surprise but then felt herself melting his arms and kissing him back with every ounce of emotion that she could dredge up from out of her soul. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pressed her up against the wall as he deepened the kiss. Kagome slid her arms around his neck and moaned softly against his lips sliding a hand down his spine, caressing the muscles of his back.

Inu Yasha pressed his hips into hers as he groaned into her mouth. He dug his nails into the flesh of her back, listening to her excited pants. The girl gasped and moaned against his lips. She rocked her hips forward to meet his and arched her back, pressing her breasts firmly against his chest as her hand reached his lower back.

He pulled back from the kiss and leaned his forehead against hers, trying to catch his breath. Kagome panted heavily her eyes searching his as she tried to absorb this moment in her memory. Inu Yasha closed his eyes trying to get his thoughts in order as he stood there with her in his arms. She leaned forward; pressing her lips against his gently then brushed a trail of kisses down his neck, resting her head on his shoulder.

He raised his hand and rubbed her back gently as he loosened his hold on her.

The girl pulled back slightly, and looked into his eyes. "Inu..."she whispered questioningly.

Inu Yasha pulled back to look at her. "What is it, Kagome?" he asked quietly.

She bit her lip and took a deep breath. "Inu Yasha, I've fallen in love with you."

Inu Yasha smiled sadly. "I know you have." He leaned his head on her shoulder. "What's going on with us?" he asked her quietly.

"I...I don't know..." she whispered. She leaned her head against his and closed her eyes, leaning back against the wall for support.

He sighed. "I need a cigarette, how about you?"

She burst into laughter as soon as the words left her mouth and she leaned her forehead against his shoulder. "If you need one after that, I'd hate to see you after sex," she chuckled.

Inu Yasha smirked and stepped back from her. "Yeah, after sex I smoke a whole pack," he said as he walked into the kitchen.

Kagome just shook her head and followed him pulling pots down from the cabinets and ingredients for biscuits and gravy out of the pantry and various other places.

Inu Yasha sat down at the table and lit a cigarette. He narrowed his eyes at the sun light pouring in through the window.

Kagome pushed the biscuits into the oven, took the bacon out of the pan, and started mixing the gravy. She wiped her hands on a towel and walked down the hall to check on the kids, finding them all slumbering peacefully. She smiled and shook her head as she walked back into the kitchen. "They're exhausted."

Inu Yasha laughed. "I wonder why."

She arched a brow. "Well, after the talk I had with Souta and Mayu yesterday it better not be from having sex," she grumbled.

Inu Yasha's eyes widened and he coughed on the drag that he just took off his cigarette.

Kagome's eyes flew to Inu Yasha and she cried out in surprise. "Inu Yasha!" She patted him on the back a few times, gripping his shoulder and leaning over him. "Are you ok? I was joking!"

He coughed a few more times and then caught his breath. Inu Yasha narrowed his eyes at her. "That's not funny,"

Her eyes widened indignantly. "Inu Yasha, they're four years old!"

"I know, but still, it isn't funny," he stated.

Kagome puffed air up into her bangs and grabbed the bacon, shoving it in front of him. "Eat something before I have to smack you for looking so damn hot in a pink t shirt and purple shorts." She smirked.

Inu Yasha growled at her. "You must be blind, woman, I have black jeans on." He wrinkled his nose as he picked up a piece of bacon and sniffed it. "Is it poisoned?"

She shook her head. "If it is, you did it while I was out of the room."

He rolled his eyes and popped the piece of bacon into his mouth.

Kagome leaned over the table, giving Inu Yasha the eye. "Do you like... bacon?" she asked in Clint Eastwood voice.

Inu Yasha looked up at her wide eyed and then grabbed his chest. He turned red in the face and then fell out of his chair and on the floor, not moving.

"Inu Yasha!" she exclaimed, leaping over the table in one smooth movement and landing beside him. "Inu Yasha, are you alright?" Her eyes studied his red face worriedly. "Answer me! Inu Yasha!" She gripped the sides of his head tightly, on the verge of freaking out.

Still he lay there, not moving, his eyes closed.

Kagome looked around frantically and then shoved a jacket that was laying on the floor, under his head to elevate him. She tipped his head back and leaned down her lips covering his as she breathed into his mouth.

Inu Yasha began to laugh as he felt her lips on his.

A low rumbling growl occurred deep in her chest and she coaxed his tongue out of his mouth and into her with her own tongue then latched onto it, biting down on him.

Inu Yasha growled and reached up to try to pull her off.

A soft smile danced across her lips and she released her jaws, caressing his wounded tongue with hers and sucking on it gently for a while before pulling back. "That was mean."

He scowled. "I can't help it your food is poison."

She scowled. "Are you saying I can't cook?!"

"Yeah, that's what I'm saying," Inu Yasha shot back at her.

Kagome growled. "God Dammit, Inu Yasha!" she exclaimed, her temper rising dramatically.

"Now, now," he said. "A lady doesn't raise her voice." Inu Yasha wagged a finger in her face.

She snarled and her head shot forward, latching onto his finger, none to gently. Annnd… they were at it again.
