I Don’t Own Inuyasha. But I do own me.

~*~*~*~*~*~ Epilogue~*~*~*~*~*~

Sesshoumaru inwardly groaned as he heard the cries of children behind him. There was the sound of a cracking whip, then the following scream.

“Tatsuya!” The voice of Victoria screamed out. “What did I tell you about using the your whip in the house and on your brother no less!”

Sesshoumaru held his new daughter close. “Kairi, you must be prepared to fight in this house.” He smiled softly as he looked down on his silver haired daughter. Although the twin boys looked liked their mother mostly, with the exception of the silver hair and golden eyes on one and deep purple eyes and the blackest black hair on the other, Kairi looked just like her father. Sesshoumaru was already proud of his baby girl who smiled up at him. “You will be strong.”

The golden eyed Tatsuya and the purple eyed Katsuo sauntered in the room and sat on both sides of their father. The six year old boys were quiet as they looked expectantly at their father.

“Are you being punished?” Sesshoumaru asked with a bored tone.

“They were hoping you could save them.” Victoria said as she leaned against the door frame. She was holding Elaina, Inuyasha and Kagome’s two year old daughter. Sesshoumaru and Victoria agreed to watch her while their older children and even Shippou and Shiori watched the others so the hanyou couple could enjoy some alone time. Sesshoumaru figured that Victoria would be just as fertile as Kagome and knew that the rest of his life would never be dull.

“They were merely training.” Sesshoumaru grinned mischievously.

Victoria smiled back. “Yeah, about that. You think you could refrain from showing our children anymore attacks. At least until they’re a little more responsible.

“My children are full blooded, you can’t expect me to restrain they’re abilities, do you?” Sesshoumaru chuckled to himself as his boy’s held they’re heads up high.

“Yeah Ma, we can’t be tamed by this human world.” Tatsuya was more hot headed than his usually calm brother who was ten minutes younger.

“Yeah well back to the zoo with the both of you. And take your cousin with you.” Victoria order as she put Elaina down. The three children rushed past her and to they’re room. “And don’t you dare use your energy whip on Elaina!” Victoria called down the hall. Victoria sighed and shook her head.

“They’re your boys.” Victoria sighed as she stepped forward and took Kairi from Sesshoumaru. The baby whined slightly but smiled when she saw it was her mother and her food source. Victoria smiled down on the baby and began to nurse her as she snuggled next to Sesshoumaru. The taiyoukai couldn’t take his eyes off the amazing sight and he felt his heart skip a beat.

“Well they take after you.” Sesshoumaru joked.

“Ha, Tatsuya maybe. But Katsuo is so much like you, it’s scary.” Victoria laughed and looked up at her husband. She frowned when she saw the look on his face. He looked sad and far away. “Sesshoumaru? What is it?”

Sesshoumaru was amazed how this beautiful creature could still take his breath away. Sometimes he still thought he was dreaming, still in the feudal era. He was worried that anytime now he would wake up like he did all those years ago. He was afraid to get too comfortable. He knew if he did that, she would disappear and there would still be three or four hundred years between them.

“That day you died, I still remember it.” Sesshoumaru confessed.

Victoria frowned and put the now sleeping Kairi in her bassinet. “Sometimes I wish I couldn’t remember it. But Midoriko gave me all the memories from the past, even the painful ones.” Victoria bent down and kissed the blue crescent moon on her daughter’s brow. She turned and sat next to Sesshoumaru. “Sometimes I wonder why she made me remember that moment, I remember what it felt like to be purified. The pain, the emptiness. I remember what it was like to be shot in the heart.” A tear slid down her cheeks and she wiped it away. She looked up at Sesshoumaru with a pained expression that tore him in two. “I remember the look on your face, you looked so helpless. I never wanted to see you like that again.” Victoria took a deep breath. “I remember these things, and I question Midoriko’s judgement but not often. I think she gives me the memories when I doubt this as reality. If this was a dream, it would be perfect and I wouldn’t have those memories. You don’t know how many times I was afraid to go to sleep in fear of waking up to a life without you. But then I would remember the past and know it was real. Now I don’t worry anymore. Your really here with me and our kids...”

There was a crash and Victoria growled. “Are Dead Meat!” She hissed through gritted teeth. Sesshoumaru watched as Victoria ran out of the room and left him to his thoughts. ‘It would be perfect.’ Sesshoumaru thought to himself. There were screams in the other rooms and the angry shouts of his wife. Sesshoumaru could only imagine what the children had done.

“It isn’t a dream.” Sesshoumaru said to himself. ‘I have to know.’ Sesshoumaru closed his eyes and swallowed hard. ‘This isn’t a dream.’ He repeated over and over again to himself. Suddenly everything was silent and Sesshoumaru’s body tensed. He took a deep breath and scowled. He still refused to open his eyes. Their scents were fading. In the distance the scents of his boys were vanishing then Victoria’s, he tried to hold on to Kairi’s scent and so far he was winning. Even the scent of Elaina remained. But the silence unsettled him. He took another sniff of the air. That’s how all his dreams ended, they would disappear one by one. Sesshoumaru’s eyes began to sting but he wouldn’t dare cry, he would never cry.

Sesshoumaru sighed and was about to open his eyes, when he does they all will be gone. He knew it. Slowly, painfully Sesshoumaru opened his eyes and gasped. He was staring into the dark purple eyes of Katsuo. Sesshoumaru was shocked to say the least as the boy’s scent hit him full force.

“Did I scare you, Papa?” Katsuo asked with his normal bored tone.

“Hey get down here!” Tatsuya hissed from under the bed. Sesshoumaru could smell him now too. It was obvious the twins were trying to mask their scents, but it was hard to mask it from their parents, almost impossible. Sesshoumaru watched as Katsuo scurried under the bed with his brother.

“It wasn’t our fault, Papa.” Katsuo said as he hid. Sesshoumaru groaned once again, he didn’t know what they did. But he was sure he was about to find out.

Suddenly rain on waterfalls caressed the air around him and he closed his eyes. He wanted to open them to her, his real dream. “Sesshoumaru?” Her voice was like the silk on his skin. He opened his eyes and gazed upon her.

“Your still here.” He whispered. Victoria looked confused at first then softened her features.

“I’ll always be here.” Victoria laid a gentle mind blowing kiss on his lips. Then she smiled mischievously. Instantly she ducked down and pulled two screaming boys from under the bed and tickled them furiously. They screamed and laughed as they scrambled to the safety of their Father. Sesshoumaru wrapped his arms around the children and frowned.

He knew what was about to happen. “Oh no you don’t, Daddy can’t save you now!” And with that Victoria attacked Sesshoumaru and the boys with tickling fingers. Sesshoumaru was lost in the joy, all he could do was laugh. He felt more fingers as the boys and his little niece joined in Victoria’s fun. He was free, he was truly free to be whatever he wanted. And being happy sounded like a good plan.

The End

A/N:I Hope you enjoyed the story. I absolutely love Sesshoumaru. I even have a Sesshoumaru tattoo on my arm. It’s too bad he can’t be with Kagura and being with Rin is just wrong. I just hope Takahashi-sama has good plans for him. Please Review I welcome all opinions.
