He stood in front of her, and eased her palm open. “Here.”
“Koga, your shards.”
“Don't need them anymore. They're yours.” He closed her hand over them, leaning in.
Kagome gasped, looking up into his face. His blue eyes met her gray. Koga's arm slipped around her waist, pulling her against him. The wolf brushed his lips against hers. Kagome's parted in surprise and his tongue slipped in, tangling with hers. She gripped his upper arms before wrapping her arms about his neck. She knew that this was goodbye.
Koga broke it off, calling out, “Be good to her, mutt!”
