chapter 6:

 

~ Meanings ~

Kagome was in her sleeping bag in Kaede's hut.Shippo was sleeping in Kagome's arms.Miroku,Sango and Kaede were sleeping beside her and Inuyasha was sleeping on the roof.The girl coludn't sleep.Se looked at the others…they all were sleeping.She stood up carefull not to wake Shippo and she got outside of the hut.In the coolness of the night the sweet smelling of nature embraced her senses.

 

“Today I felt like I was in trance” the girl thinked and she rubbed her temple.”What's wrong with me..I think I'm going crazy…I can't think at anything but Sesshomaru…Stupid dream!…You ruined my life…I can't love Sesshomaru!!! I can't!” she buried her head in her hands and started to cry.

 

The salty smell of her tears reached Inuyasha's sensitive nose and he woke up.”She's crying…” he thinked and he remembered that when he found her at the cliffs he sensed Sesshomaru presence near by.”Maybe Sesshomaru did something to her” he found himself saying and he felt anger for his brother who dared to hurt “ his Kagome “.It was an only way to find out what had happened there…He had to make a little visit to Sesshomaru…He had to answer for all Kagome's tears that he was sure were his fault.He couldn't stand seeing Kagome cry.Although he never admitted she loved Kagome very much and he knew she loved him back..She proved it many times…maybe now was the time to returned it.

 

After she sat a few minutes looking around,Kagome felt much better:

“How selfish I am…” the girl thinked and stopped crying.”Sesshomaru suffered as well…maybe more then me…” she told herself remembering the moment when he told her he loved her and asked her not to leave him..and when,at the cliffs they kissed and he told her she killed him first…”and I feel pity for myself ?I must look for him! I must explain everything…Maybe…maybe that kiss at the cliffs ment something…Ment that he still loves me..But what I don't get is I looked for him…Why did we met?..Why his absence makes me sad…” the girl turned her face to look at the sky…The twinkle of the stars who were smiling at the moon made her remember Sesshomaru as well…It was like everything was remembering her of him…It was dark and was quiet all around her.The girl stood up and returned to the hut…she was feeling rather calm now.”Tomorrow I'll look for Sesshomaru” she said and took a seat in her sleeping bag.As she put her head on the pillow she felt sleepy.

She woke up later then usual and found no one in the hut.

“This is perfect! I hope Inuyasha isn't around so I can go look for Sesshomaru ” the girl thinked as she went to the door but just then Shippo and Kaede entered the hut.

 

-“You woke up child…” Kaede said

 

-“Yes..just now” Kagome answered as she was picking up her backpack.

 

-“Kagome…” the little kitsune screamed as he jumped into Kagome's arms.

 

-“Shippo…so what are you doing?..Where are the others?””Where is Inuyasha?” she wanted especially to know.

 

-“Sango took Kirara and left for her village.Today was her father's birthday so she wanted to put some flowers to his tomb” Kaede told her.

 

-“Oh…I see…” the girl said quietly.“And Miroku?”

 

-“He went with her” Shippo continued.

 

-“Ok I understand.” She said and went out from the hut.She looked to the tree where she aspected to see Inuyasha but he wasn't there.She turned and asked :

 

-“And Inuyasha?…”

 

-“I do not know child…He left early in the morning and didn't want to tell us where he was going” Kaede answered.

 

-“So he left…” Kagome said quietly and gazed .

 

-“My child is there something bothering you?…” Kaede asked and put her hand on the girls shoulder.The girl thrilled.

 

-“W-what?…Well it is something that I'm rather curious about.It's about a dream I had…”

 

Kaede looked at Kagome rather curious then she told Shippo to protect her hut because she and Kagome were going to look for some medicinal flowers.

 

-“Leave it to me! I'm stronger then you weak humans…Kaede-baba your hut will be well protected!” Shippo told them very plesed for the mission he had been given..

 

-“Yes child..please protect it” Kaede said as she left.

Kaede left with Kagome into the forest.They walked a little and then they sat on a trunk of a big tree that falled because of the wind.

 

-“Now tell me child…what is bothering you?” Kaede asked.

 

Kgome told Kaede about her dream and her date with Sesshomaru and how Inuyasha interrupted it.

 

-“I understand child…then..your destiny is that you must be with Sesshomaru…You love him beyond time…”

 

-“W-what…NO…” she blushed “I don't love Sesshomaru!”

 

-“If I love Sesshomaru,then why I forgot him?”

 

-“What to forget child? You didn't forgot anything…My conclusion is that as we all took care of you when you were sick your soul traveled through time and you influenced the destinys of all by changing the past… You never left actually the room…Your soul traveled,it took a form and was like you were there,didn't you told me that you got hurt?”

 

-“Yes but that doesn't mean I changed my past as well?”

 

-“I think not child…For you only 5 days past as you were covalescent,but for Sesshomaru 70 years had past, so…”

 

-“That's strange…so for example when I first saw him,he already knew me,right?”

 

-“Yes child…”

 

-“But I didn't remembered him…because for me,the travel happened in my future”

 

-“I think you understand now child”

 

-“A little…But what I don't understand is why he didn't told me he already knew me when we first met…he acted very cold and he tried to kill me…Why?”

 

-“My child,to this question I cannot answer…”

When the too of them got back they saw Inuyasha on the tree as he usual did.Sango and Miroku got back as well and they were teasing Inuyasha.Kagome was thinking at what Kaede had told her and wasn't paying attention at Shippo who was calling her because Inuyasha was running after him.

 

-“Kagome!Kagome!” he screamed and jumped into Kagome's arms.She was dazzed.After everybody ate she was ready to go after Sesshomaru.Inuyasha was in his tree.She walk to the forest but felt a gaze.She turned to look at Inuyasha

 

-”Inuyasha…don't follow me!”

 

He gulped as if the gilr knew what he was thinking.Now Kagome was going where she met Sesshomaru the day before.He was there as he was waiting for her.When she saw him she ran towards him.

 

-“Sesshomaru!” and wanted to take him in her arms but he just avoided her and she almost lost her balance.He was looking at her with cold eyes.

 

-“Sesshomaru,what happened?” she asked little afraid for what he would answer her.

 

-“I would suggest you to never look for me again,human…”

 

-“Human?Sesshomaru…” now she was sad.His words hurt her.”Why are you saying that?”

 

-“Don't pretend with me,human…”he said looking directly into her eyes with his own now icy ones…

 

-“W-what?Sesshomaru…” she made a few steps towards him.

 

-“If you get any closer I assure you that I won't hesitate in killing you ”

 

-“Please Sesshomaru..tell me what's wrong…”

 

-“How dare you call this Sesshomaru ,Sesshomaru? For you human..I'm Lord Sesshomaru and you will never have my class…you're just a pitiful inferior being… ”

 

The girl was trying to abtain her tears

 

-“Fine then!”she screamed “Lord Sesshomaru…”crying “I'm sorry for bothering you in the first place…”and she ran away from him.

 

Sesshomaru felt the salt from her eyes.It hurt him that he made her cry.But it was better that way.Sesshomaru leaned against a tree that was near him..he felt that his feet were giving away.His soul was heart-broken.

 

-“I did this for you Kagome..I hope one day you'll forgive me and you'll understand my actions…”
