Chapter 7: Kagome’s breakdown
A/N: WOW! I updated. Even twice in two days! Anyway…… I don’t own Inuyasha and all that crap.

One tear slid down her cheek, then another. ‘Damn it Kagome! Keep it together!’ She began to raise her hand to wipe the tears off her cheek when she realized Inuyasha had already begun to do it for her. She looked up into his eyes, and she lost it. She just crumpled into Inuyasha’s arms. He was startled to say the least. Not knowing what to do he just wrapped his arms around her shaking frame and let her cry. She was whispering into his kimono and he could just barely make out what she was saying.
“Why do you love her? Why can’t you love me? I loved you so much I put my life on hold for you and you just go and stab me in the back, over and over again. I knew you were going to her but I just kept my mouth shut. Why? Why?” Kagome finally realized that Inuyasha could hear her and she pushed him away for her. She sniffed back another round of tears.“Inuyasha, I know you just heard everything I said. How can I trust you after what you have done to me over the years?” Inuyasha just shook his head. She took a deep breath and started again. “Over the five years we have been together, I have let you break my heart over and over again. This last time I caught you with Kikyo was not the first. Trust me, I have seen
you two having sex more than anyone should have to. But I dealt with it and just let it go and let it go. This last time was my breaking point. If you want to be with Kikyo then I will have to ask you to leave.” That hit Inuyasha like a ton of bricks. “K-Kagome. I never wanted to be with Kikyo but..” he started. “But what Inuyasha?” He took a deep breath, looked Kagome in the eyes and…. “Kagome, I went to Kikyo because I couldn’t do with you what I did with her because I thought you didn’t care for me. I have loved you for the longest time. I watched you go from an insecure, scared teenager to a beautiful, self assured woman.” Kagome’s eyes got wide. ‘He… he loves me?’ Breaking out of her stupor, she flung herself into Inuyasha’s arms.
Kouga had had just about enough of all this. There was no way that that stupid half demon was going to steal his woman from him. Not after the moment they had shared. He stood up and marched into the clearing.
At that same time, on the other side of the clearing, Kikyo walked in. ‘What a disgusting sight’ she thought once she spotted Inuyasha and Kagome.
Inuyasha had finally caught the scents the wolf and the dead miko. He looked up growling. Kagome had also looked up. ‘Oh great! Let the party begin!’ she thought as she released Inuyasha. They both turned to there respective partners.
To Inuyasha’s surprise, Kikyo just turned around and walked away. While Inuyasha just stood there stunned, Kagome was getting scared. Kouga looked seriously pissed. He took a couple of steps toward her when her subconscious started to freak out. That’s when her body began to shake.
