The group made it to the village only a few minutes later. Miroku stepped in a head of the group and spoke privately with the village elder. He came back five minutes later saying that he 'got rid of' the ominous presense and they were free to stay the night. The hanyou smirked when the mention of free food was brought to his attention again. The one good thing about his human night, was the fact that the village people didn't treat him, or his friends for being associated with him, like scum.

The village elder led the group through a long hallway of the village inn, until they met with some rooms. Kirara decided to follow Shippo to keep an eye on the child.

The elder, who goes by the name of Genji, led the others to their own rooms. He pointed at the separate rooms, right across from each other and spoke up.

"I assume, the houshi and young taijiya will share one while the young miko and her husband will stay in the other. Make yourselves at home."

They all had their eyes as wide as saucers, Miroku was smirking and staring at Sango.

In the boys' room...

The four adults and small kitsune along with Kirara, made it to the dinner table just as the food was being served. Kagome sat down with Shippo in her lap, and Inuyasha sat down next to her. They stood up and got dressed and than went out to the dining hall for breakfast. When they got there, Inuyasha, Kagome, Shippo and Kirara were already there being served their meal.

Sango and Miroku sat down across the table from their friends and silence befell them all. Finally, Shippo couldn't take it anymore.

"Why do you all smell funny?"

Everyone blushed, but Miroku opened his big mouth. "Well Shippo, when a man and a woman love each other very much - OW!" Sango glared at him as he was rubbing the hand print on his face. "My dear Sango, I was merely explaining the answer to his question."

Sango rolled her eyes at him and spoke to Shippo, "What exactly do you smell?"

"Well, you smell a lot like Miroku and Kagome smells a lot like Inuyasha. Kind of like how my mommy smelled a lot like my daddy."

Kagome practically choked on her food. "Sh-Shippo.. you're a little young to understand." He pouted at her and than Inuyasha spoke up.

"Keh, What's there to tell? Kagome and I are mates like your mom and dad were. That's why we smell like that. Got it?"

"Oh, Okay! So, Sango and Miroku are mates too?"

Sango smiled at the young kitsune before responding, "sort of. We are together in the human way. To be married."

Shippo seemed to understand because he dropped the matter and continued to eat his food in silence. Than the village elder and his wife walked in to greet their guests.

Inuyasha stomped over to the couple and yelled at them. "Hey! Why would you give the girls in MY pack something to drink like that!?"

The old man opened his eyes wide, "Y-you're a demon! I .. I thought you were a human! I never would have agreed to help out your relationship if I knew you would be defiling that poor young miko!"

Kagome jumped up from her seat and grabbed Inuyasha's hand in hers. "Hey! Don't talk to him like that! He's not just any demon. He's the hanyou that I fell in love with."

"Hanyou!? You are a disgrace! How dare you come here and utilize our powers to make that woman yours! What did you do, brainwash her!?"

Inuyasha was fuming but not nearly as much as Kagome. He was used to it, but she wasn't. He felt terrible, he remembered one of the reasons he was afraid to take her as his mate. People like this guy.

"Whatever. Don't listen to him, Kagome. Let's just go." Inuyasha grabbed Kagome by the hand to lead her out of the inn and away from the village. Their friends followed behind. The last thing they heard was the old man yelling his last farewell.

"I can't believe someone like you would choose to be a demons whore!" Then the old man walked back inside to his wife, grumbling to himself.

"I'm sorry, Kagome. You shouldn't be bound to me. People are going to treat you poorly just because you're with a half breed." His ears went down and he looked away from her angered gaze.

"Dammit Inuyasha!" Everyone turned to the pure woman who never uses words like that and stared at her in disbelief. "Stop saying things like that. I love you for all of you. Your human side is sweet and vulnerable, your yokai side is extra strong and protective and your hanyou is all of that put together. I love you for the hanyou that you are. I don't care about what everyone else says or thinks. I love you."

Inuyasha grabbed her into a fierce hug, not even caring about the audience next to them. "I love you too, koibito."

When they pulled away, Kagome climbed on Inuyasha's back and held on extra tight, while Sango and Miroku climbed up on Kirara with Sango leaning back into Miroku's embrace. Shippo jumped onto Kagome's back and held on to her smiling. He couldn't help but think, finally the adults stopped being stupid and got together. He smiled at his surrogate parents and held onto Kagome's neck extra hard. Things were really going to change from now on, and definitely for the better, for all of them. Especially now that both women have a little life growing inside of them.
