A Feudal Fairytale Part 1: Prologue

Summary: Kagome is the elven princess destined to a life of false happiness and guardian of the sacred forest. InuYasha, on the other hand, is the vampire prince destined to a dark and bloodlust life full of feuds and betrayal. Yet somehow throughout all the pains and heartaches, love is found and torn apart.

Rated PG13 for witchcraft and language, scenes of necromancy and murder ENJOY!!

Kagome's POV

The day began as any other, mother trying to find me the proper husband. She made me wear the typical dresses, I actually like them. They consist of a black and red outlined corset tank top and a long flowing black skirt; I wear these long, leather sleeve type things that are from the bend in my fingers to the bend in my elbow. They are black as well.

“Mother” I whined “we've been at this all day can't we just forget it. I don't want a husband!!” `At least not any of these' I silently comment.

“Kagome! Bite your tongue! A young lady, such as you, needs a husband and now!”

I sigh and decide to suck it up. Hopefully.... yes right on time.

“Lady Kagome!!! There is an issue in the gardens.” Sango hollered.

“YES... err um bye mother, seems there is .... Something that needs my attention” I shout running down the stairs and to my good friend.

I grip her arm as I round the corner.

“Thank you sooo much Sango, I don't think I could have lasted another second in there.”

“Anytime, I know how stressing it can be, my mother used to try to force a husband on me. Sad thing she won't be around when I actually do get married” she giggled and so did I.

Sango's mother died early in the winter from a disease that had been plaguing our islands.

“So Kagome who was your mother trying to fix you up with this time?”

“Some half-wit named 'Hojo' I believe. The boy was such a poser or a pansy, what ever you wanna call him.”

Sango got a kick out of that.

“So shall we adjourn to the gardens so we technically won't be lying?”

“Hmm I suppose we should” I say lazily as we make our way to the enchanting gardens.

Rounding the corner of the second floor commodore's, we heard a slight crying and almost whimpering sound. We found a young vampire man in the corner.

“Sango, he's from the Kanokayan tribe.... what should we do?”

“I don't know.... he looks hurt though”

“Should we help him...?”

“Kagome ... we have been at war with the Kanokayan's for, over, millennia. I don't think...”

“Well I'm going” I say abruptly.

I walk over to the vampire and crouch down beside him.

I place my hand on his shoulder and ask him in the vampire language

“Kobo no destinaya dekura meti?” (Do you need any help?)

“Ha neiya ney sakeyr seiethe meti deskaury a sukaban diethe onnan! Patented, negoyaht beseache “(ha like I would need help from a pathetic elven woman! Ridiculous, leave fool)
I was taken aback at his rudeness, of course our clans had been feuding for centuries, I would never thought one to be so cruel.

I forget my manners and screech in my language

“YOU FOOL I WAS ONLY TRYING TO BE HELPFUL AND YOU REJECT IT! I SHOULD SLAY YOU NOW FOR BEING ON SHIKODU GROUNDS”

“AND WHO ARE YOU TO THINK YOU COULD KILL ME?!”

“I AM KAGOME SHIKODU, DAUGHTER OF RHYA SHIKODU AND BEST FIGHTER IN OUR CLAN, AND SOON TO BE YOUR MURDERER!!”

“Well Kagome allow me to introduce myself” he says with an eerie calm, boy am I in for it “I am InuYasha Kanokayan, son of Miyokozay Kanokayan, and leader of war fare and best fighter in my clan as well, if you attack me, you won't live”

I extend my hand as an offer of.... well courtesy I suppose.

He grasps it and we exchange a not so civil hello. It would be pointless for us to fight, we both knew it. So I begin to question him.

“InuYasha what brings you to Ikosmaya?”

“I was being chased by Otacku's when I found this entry and fled “InuYasha murmured

“What do you mean? Otacku's are miles away from these islands. And besides you don't have but a few scratches, if you were telling the truth you would be bloodied up” I say with a smug know it all look

He lifts his tattered armor revealing a deep gash in his right shoulder.

“I haven't been able to move it, so that's when I fled” he said bowing his head in shame.

I noticed and held his chin up with my thumb and index finger.

“Don't, Otacku's are almost impossible to defeat on one's own”

“That's the thing, I wasn't alone, Miroku was with me”

“Who is Miroku?”

“My friend, he was.... DAMNIT”

“WHAT?”

“Miroku... he.... I never got him outta there.... Damnit where is he?”

“We'll find him. You have to stay here”

“Why are you helping me?” he asked in suspicion

“I don't know honestly.” I said as we left InuYasha

`Thank you' InuYasha inwardly said

Normal POV

In the Setsuyokan Gardens, Sango and Kagome walked the trails determined to find InuYasha's companion, Miroku.

They searched for a long time until stumbling- literally- upon a wounded vampire.

“Ow! What the hell?” Sango spat as she lifted herself from the ground

“Sango are you ok?”

“Hai, Hai of course I am. But wait this must be...”

“You're Miroku are you not?” Kagome asked

“Yes, and you are? Wait “His eyes lit up to an eerie green as he sniffed the air. “You two- you're.... You're elves!”

“Oooo good deduction, Kagome seems we have a smart one among us” Sango spat sarcastically.

Miroku look evilly at Sango and extended a hand to Kagome.

“I'm Miroku Sakoyo, of the Kanokayan tribe.”

“Like we didn't know that before” Sango snapped

“Hush Sango” Kagome scolded before continuing “Injured? Miroku, can you walk?”

“Can you even stand?” Sango spat again

“Sango -your manners- and help me get him up!”

Kagome spat as she pulled one of his shoulders and motioned for Sango to follow suit

Sango complied grudgingly and helped Miroku to his feet.

Once he was up he took the notion to walk on his own.

“I'm good, I can walk ladies. Thank you for your help. Though if there is anyway I can repay you....”

SMACK (if you watch the episode you know what usually occurs for that to happen)

“Miroku don't make me castrate you!!” InuYasha said warningly as he appeared out of nowhere

Both women's faces were red as they backed away from the pervert.

“Looks are deceiving, I'm sorry for my idiotic friend”

“It's ok (nervous giggle) Not like I haven't been around pervs all day”

This got their attention as they each raised a suspicious eyebrow

“Whaddya mean?” InuYasha was the first to speak up with the obvious question

“Her mother has been trying to find Kagome a husband and everyone is either a pansy or a pervert. It's almost too funny” Sango laughed in a nervous tone

Both men let an indescribable laugh as Kagome blushed fiercely.

Hours late after tending to the men's wounds, Kagome and Sango led them out to the clearing so they could make their escape.

InuYasha held Kagome's hands gratefully

“Kagome, if there is ever any way to repay you....”

“Don't worry, we'll call” she replied nodding her head

She leaned forward and kissed InuYasha with was what to be on the cheek, but he turned making it connect purposely with his lips.

Sango and Miroku, on the other hand, weren't having such an easy time.

“Miroku why can't you keep your hands to yourself” Sango snapped as she slapped him across the face once more.

“Sorry, I really am, it's a curse” he said smirking

“You're a curse” she mumbled

“C'mon Miroku lets go” InuYasha called noticing Sango was on the verge of killing him.

“But do we have...”

“Yes we have to leave” he snapped emphasizing the Have

Miroku frowned as InuYasha pulled him away from the women.

Back at the Elven castle

“So ladies how were the matters in the gardens?” her mother smirked, hinting she knew what had occurred The women blushed walked over to the window, staring curiously at the trainees

“Think we'll ever see them again?”

“I hope not.. in my case.”

“Sango.... Miroku seemed.... well” she tried to think of something to calm her friend

Sango sighed in reply

“Yea, seeming and being are two totally different things” she said in a laughing manner

“Sango be nice” she laughed as she slapped her friends shoulder
