Chap 4
Talk?
perked his ears up as he stared at Kagome who walked ahead of him, she held no smile on her face. It just wasn't like Kagome not to smile. He wondered if he should ask her why she wasn't smiling, but than the guys would get all suspicios and start asking if he cared about her. But I do, that's why I want to know. He thought walking over to her, taking her hand in his. He smirked as she looked up clearly startled.
slightly blushed but smiled. That's what Kagome would do. Tightening her grip on his hand she led him in front of the rest. Smiling at each other as there eyes met.
Kagome got to spend all these wonderful moments with Inuyasha, Kikyo didn't belong there. It was too much to handle, but she savoured the moment thinking that she was in her own body, and Inuyasha loved her not Kagome. The person inside, not the person on the outside.
it too much to ask him if he would just choose between them now? All these thoughts were agonizing and she felt she could frown, but Kagome's lips kept in a tight smile. Her body was savouring the moment but the soul inside wasn't.Kikyo sighed as she closed her eyes, choosing not to open them in fear she'd see what she didn't want to. This was a dream where she and Inuyasha were back to fifty years before and in love.
eyes snapped open at the feel of tears. Making Kagome's body think this way wasn't helping, it was making the body sad. But what's the point, you need to be the same person as you are on the outside. Kikyo was nothing like Kagome.
was her own person, so was Kagome. They had different personalities.
you okay?" She heard Inuyasha ask as his amber eyes looked at her with concern held in their depths. Kikyo looked back than at her bandaged hand, she smiled before looking back at him.
I am." she answered in Kagome's happy tone. It was not her voice, and right now that wasn't what she would've said . . . or was it. There wasn't anyone telling her what to say, so what was the problem? Maybe Kagome's body showed her what Kagome's soul felt, and maybe right now Kagome was feeling the same way as her in her body. She loosened her grip on Inuyasha's hand realizing that she shouldn't be feeling these things, it was selfish.
stopped walking as Kagome slipped her hand out of his grasp, he glanced at her frowning face. Maybe she still felt a little down about yesturday. "Kagome, I said I was sorry." He said suddenly pulling Kikyo from her musings as she looked back at him.
for what?" She asked confusion visible on her face.
do you mean 'for what?'" Inuyasha growled. "I yelled at you, we had an argument! I told you I'd choose Kikyo over you anyday!" he yelled again.
was shocked for all it was worth. Than a trembling feeling filled her body as she stared at the angry hanyou. She could feel tears fall down her cheeks, but she wasn't crying. Kikyo looked away. Please don't cry . . . she thought as the tears and trembling faded and she wiped at her eyes a bit. She glanced at him and smiled. "Let's not talk about this." she said, taking his hand in hers and leading him again.
stared sullenly at her. She was acting so different, did what he said really take it's toll on her? He sighed, girls were so hard to figure out these days . . . especially if you made the certain girl angry with everything that came out of your mouth. A smile edged its way to his lips as memories of him and Kagome fighting flashed across his mind. Yep, those memories were priceless . . . almost as much as they are painful and fun. Of course the painful for Kagome and the kind of fun only men find in seeing their woman mad or angry. A common prospect-'cute'- of course Inuyasha wouldn't be saying it any time soon.
sure are getting along well . . ." Miroku mumbled letting his hand slip to Sango's butt, then followed by a smack across the face. "My Dear Sango, what did I do?" he asked touching his cheek and wincing at the pain.
ignored him in favour of the current project of their gossip, as many would like to say. "Well that's Kagome for you." Sango said, a little on the whispering side. She glanced at the couple ahead of them, smiling slightly. It was cute to see two 'love birds' holding hands and having silent conversation in the midest of a trio of hard earing gossipers.
do you think they're talking about?" Shippo asked out of the blue jumping to Sango's shoulder brushing a wisp of her brown hair away from his face.
don't know." Sango answered, looking back at the couple hand in hand up the trail. "Doesn't look like we'll be finding out either." she said noticing the mouths not moving anymore. It was a terrible thing to hear a lovers spat, especially when the spatters weren't lovers . . . yet. "Maybe it was the fight they broke into." she suggested.
Sango, do you think Kagome would really let Inuyasha talk about that anymore?" Miroku said. "Besides, Kagome leaves the past where it's at, and moves on with more strength than before. She has gotten stronger, I'll be damned if Inuyasha hasn't noticed it yet."
was true, Kagome was getting stronger . . . emotionally, physically, and in her miko powers. She could probably withstand Naraku, but that wasn't the problem right now for her. The problem was getting out of Kikyo's body and back into her own.
it!" Kagome screamed thrashing about in Kikyo's body. Tears were of no use falling, they weren't going to fall.
was about three days after the eventful switching, and the three days made Kagome all the more angrier. She felt alone and uncared for, was that how Kikyo felt? Kagome had to admit, Kikyo was strong, but she was just a shadow of what she use to be, she used to be pure but now she was black hearted and confusing. One second she's kissing Inuyasha, the other trying to take him to hell with her, than after failing she tried to kill Kagome . . . her.
these thoughts about the familiar love triangle were getting to Kagome, and what Kikyo could be doing with Inuyasha at that very moment. Kagome wanted to cry, but the tears wouldn't come out . . . the thoughts were probably similiar to what Kikyo thought about, and she not wishing to cry ever, would not shed a single tear no matter how bad the emotional stress was.
can't stand this!" Kagome cried walking towards Inuyasha's forest. She truly wanted to see Inuyasha, and the fact that the body also did was driving her to go now that the silent plea was out. Cold grey eyes shimmered in the dark as bits of light reflected off the black hair that lay flat on her back. Doesn't Kikyo ever wash her hair . . . with shampoo? Probably not, this was the feudal era, such things had never existed in this time.
cast her grey eyes to the goshinboku tree, she was close now. Not sparing another step she called upon her soul stealers and levatated into the air than disappeared.
had reappeared in the dusty shadows of the woods, pretty far from where she had been last, which was why she was thanking the little spirit dragons. She walked a little ways before coming across a trio of familiar people babbling away on something she would've past on. Always gossiping, aren't they? She thought walking a little faster, her body and Inuyasha must've been further up the trail . . . or maybe not.
gaze settled on Inuyasha and her body holding hands, a smile was clearly visible on his face but than it dissappeared as he began to sniff the air. Kagome heart skipped a beat . . . wait was that possible? Well anyways, it was a similiar feeling.
saw him whisper something to the dead miko in her body. Than he bounded off in her direction.
Oh gods . . . oh gods! Kagome pleaded as the silver haired demon jumped in front of her, picking her up and jumping away again. The question: where was he taking her and why was he taking her?
