Instalment 6

First Embrace

He was perfection itself
His skin was flawless, unmarred
Her breath caught in her throat
At catching this divine being asleep
His hair waved gently in the breeze
The silver strands winking among the stars
She caught a few of them in her hand
And brought them to her mouth
Placing a soft kiss on the gossamer strands
He stirred restlessly
Plagued by bad dreams
Her hand reached out and stroked his head
Defending him from the turmoil and horrors
His skin was warm to the touch
Her pale fingers were soothing on his hot skin
She smiled sweetly down at the unaware angel
Showing his sleeping face
Her inner thoughts and emotions

He was aware of her
The girl who smelled like rain
He had sensed her approach
Allowed her to come near him
He was well aware of her attraction
And wished to lure her into a sense
Of false security, then he would pounce
And snare his unaware prey
He had not expected her however,
To tenderly touch his hair or skin
All thoughts of capturing the woman
Fled from his head
All he knew was he had to win her heart
And affections
His hand reached out and grasped her elbow
As his eyes snapped open
Revealing golden orbs
Which had delved into the girl's soul
And refused to leave

Her sudden gasp
His harsh breathing
The stillness of the night around
The moonlight shone down
And was the only witness
To a tender embrace
The first of many
