Kagome walked through the dense forest, the surrounding darkness making her pulse thud in her neck. It had been almost seven years since she had last been in the feudal era, why did she sense demonic auras now?
It had been so long since she had even thought about the feudal era. Inuyasha had chosen the life of a demon over her. He had betrayed all of them, and for what? He thought that he would be the same person but the lust for power had changed him. The power had been too much, it had consumed his body, it had driven him into insanity.
Kagome had been forced to watch him kill himself, rip his body to shreds, tear out his own living heart... The memory still felt raw, still felt… somehow terrifying. Kagome put her hands over her face, trying not to let off the blood-curdling scream that built in the back of her throat.
Kagome walked towards the end of the forest, to a dark, muddy cave. That was where the strong aura was coming from. She swallowed past her pulse, and headed towards the cave, flashlight in hand. She walked inside the cold cave, feet sloshing in the mud. She pointed the flashlight everywhere, but came to an abrupt halt as she was stopped. She tried to move forward, but she tripped over something solid. She shone the flashlight around until it shone on a familiar face.
The man had long silver hair, amber eyes, a purple crescent moon on his forehead…
‘Sesshomaru! But… How? I thought that when I left for college that gramps had closed the well off for good! Oh, my god, and he had a barrier around his body… I think that…. I just… broke it!
Kagome took a step back, watching as his body tensed.
His eyes slowly opened, looking straight at the girl in front of him. Kagome’s eyes grew
wide in surprise, as the demon got up, brushing his kimono off. He walked past her, not
even wasting a stare, a word of acknowledgement on her. Kagome stood up, trying not to look stupid.
“What, how- I mean how-“
“…”
Sesshomaru stopped in his tracks, venomous voice filling the cold night air, “You,
woman, are the one that freed me. Why?”
Kagome flinched, cocking her eyebrow in confusion.
“Freed you?”
“….”
“What do you mean?”
Sesshomaru stood there for what seemed liked hours. He finally replied, “I was sealed
way when my Tenseiga was broken. It created a barrier that I was unable to break.”
“How did it seal you away? How did you end up here? Are yo-“
“Foolish mortal, I owe you no explanation.”
“Hey, I was the one that set you free! You didn’t even say thank you!”
Sesshomaru walked outside, not caring what the woman had to say.
‘What does that foolish mortal think I owe her?’
He sniffed the air, becoming intoxicated by the fumes.
‘Why is the air so… dirty and…’
Sesshomaru’s knees buckled, body falling onto the solid ground.
‘Oh no! He fainted! He’s not use to the pollution yet!’
Kagome went to the demons side, worry replacing the fear.
‘I, I’ll take him to my apartment, but I have a date tonight! Oh no, what was I thinking!
This is too much to take in at once!’
Kagome picked him up, dragging him through the forest.
-----
Kagome had to cancel her date, and was now chewing her nails nervously.
‘Oh what do I do? I hope that he doesn’t plan on killing me when he wakes up. Oh this is
too weird. How did the Tenseiga seal him in that cave?’
She looked at the demon, who was still lying on the floor.
‘
His clothes are so dirty, and his hair is so tangled and… filthy. But I can’t leave him on the floor.’
Kagome went to his side, wrapping her arms around his waist. She started pulling him
towards the door but was stopped when she felt his hand squeeze her arm.
“Woman, what business do you have touching me? Where am I?”
Kagome released his arms, in hopes that she could talk him through this.
“You were unconscious so I… brought you to my house.”
Sesshomaru sat up, eyes ablaze with rage.
“You stupid wench… Who told you to help me? This is none of your business!”
“But your in my world now, you’ll need someplace to stay.”
“…”
“Do you want a… bath?”
‘I can’t even go outside… This… hovel will have to due for now.’
“What is this… bath of yours, woman?”
“I have a name you know. It’s-“
“Woman I need no name. Answer my question.”
Kagome frowned.
“It’s where you wash up at.”
“Is there not a… nearby stream near this hovel?”
‘I guess ‘first apartment’ wouldn’t mean anything to him. He’s… impossible.’
“There’s a river near here, but you can’t even go outside without passing out.”
“Then take me to this… bath of yours…”
Kagome brought him to the bathroom without another word.
‘This is so weird! Sesshomaru in my bathroom? In my time? This is the weirdest day of
my life besides my fifteenth birthday.’
Kagome ran the bathroom water, pouring jasmine scented bubble bath into the tub.
“You’ll need to-“ Kagome made a vuala motion with her hands-“Undress. The shampoo
is right here, the body wash is right there, and this is a shower puff. Put the body wash on
the puff and then lather it.”
Sesshomaru did not acknowledge her words, but started undressing, taking no notice of
the girls blushing face.
‘AIEEE! He’s… undressing right in front of me!’
Kagome walked out of the bathroom, heat rushing up her face.
‘He is so… handsome… What! What am I thinking! He’s a demon!’
-----
It was very hard to find anything for him to change into.
‘Hiro left his clothes over here so maybe he can wear them. Sesshomaru in jeans and a t-
shirt, who would have thought.’ Kagome silently giggled to herself. She grabbed a towel
out of the hall closet, and brought it to Sesshomaru. She knocked on the door, getting no
response. She opened the door, not daring to look into the warm pool of water. She layed
the clothes and the towel on the toilet seat, only to be interrupted by Sesshomaru’s sullen
voice.
“ What are those on the…”
“Toilet… Clothes and a towel to dry off with,”
Sesshomaru turned to the girl, anger apparent on his face.
“Woman, how do you expect me to wear these?”
“Ka-Go-Me!” Kagome snapped back, heading out the door.
‘Demon or not! That guy has some nerve telling me what to do!’
Kagome went into the kitchen, fixing dinner. She was determined to make Miso soup.
She had learned the recipe from her mother.
She started making tea, but a certain ‘demon’ standing wet, and next to her made her drop
the hot kettle of tea.
‘Gosh! Can’t he say ‘Hi’ like a normal person! Geez, talk about lack of manners!’
He had not zipped the jeans, the shirt was on backwards and the underwear… were still
in his hand.
“…”
