Chapter 2:

A cold wet nose awoke her from her deep sleep. Kagome turned over and snuggled deeper into the warm furs and tried to find the warm body of her father. “Papa?” Kagome asked groggily. She looked around rubbing her eyes. She found herself face to face with her father’s wolf, Ryoko.

“woko ware papa?” Kagome asked the wolf who seemed to follow her every where.

#New pups, wants you to come.” Ryoko spoke to her and tugged on her furs.

“pups? Kouu pups?” Kagome asked. She was 5 and knew the life of wolfs. She jumped up and squealed “Pups!”

“Kagome come on there are females for you to pick from.” Koga deep voice said as he came into the cave and picked the child up. She snuggled into her father’s chest and breathed in his scent of trees and wolf.

“Pup foe me?” Kagome asked him.

“Yes pup for Kagome.” Koga chuckled as she bounced in delight. They walked deeper into the cave and came to a wolf lying on her side with pups suckling from her. The pups colors were gray, black and red like Ryoko’s colors, brown and a black one with a large white spot.

“Puppies!” Kagome squealed as Koga set her down and stroked the mother wolf on her head.

#Careful pup of leader, pups are babies and can not be touched just yet.# Kouu’s warm loving voice came to her as Kagome reached them. Kagome nodded and looked at them. As she watched the black one squirmed its way over with his white spot only the white spot wasn’t a spot but another puppy. They cuddled against her and fell asleep.

“They chose you Kagome, they are your friends now. Ask their names of Kouu.” Koga instructed his daughter.

“Kouu wat names have they?” Kagome asked as she raised a hand over the white one.

#the male pup, the white one is called Tomoshibi and the black female is called Ankoku. Treat them well pack leaders daughter.# the gray wolf lay her head down on her paws and rested.

***At the Western Castle***

“I want wamen!” a young boy yelled at the top of his lungs.

“Say Ramen.” his mother calmly said even though the silver haired child was yelling and screaming.

“Wamen!” he yelled again.

“Ramen.” his mother corrected.

“Ramen inu wants!” the boy yelled again unaware he said it right.

“Can I have some please? Say that.” his mother corrected.

“No!” InuYasha yelled and folded his arms.

“Say it or no ramen.” his mother instructed. InuYasha pouted and stuck his nose in the air.

His tummy growled, “pwease?” he asked, doing his puppy face.

“Close enough” Izayoi said, tired of his fits.

“Yay wamen!” InuYasha jumped around happily chanting “wamen wamen!”

“Is he saying women? Isn’t he a little young for that Izayoi?” Sesshomaru asked as he came into the nursery.

“Ramen.” Izayoi said as she stood and brushed her dress off.

“Oh, well I need your advice on the trade with the wolves. Can you come?” he said as he turned to leave.

“Yes. Kaede? Can you make Yash some ramen?” she said as she followed then stopped, “Make sure he says thank you.”

“Come child let us feed your bottomless pit.” Kaede said as she led the joyful child out of the room.

***Northern Kingdom***

“Milord, we haven’t found any leads on a child with spiritual powers yet. Kaede has felt none and the monks have a boy in training for this reason.” a man bowed at the kings feet.

“Very well. The wolves seem to be running wilder every day, Send the monk and his trainee to negotiate with them for trade. Maybe that will calm them seeing how they live on the border of the two kingdoms, the west and ours.” the king said.

“Yes sir I shall Send the monk Mushin and his trainee Miroku. The child is only 6.” the man said as he left.

“And our daughter is five, if she is alive.” his wife and queen said as she came into the room.

“She’s alive.”
