Chapter 25: Bye bye

He awoke to the feel of a soft cushy thing beneath his body. Miroku brought his cursed hand to his head, wondering where he was. Still half asleep he heard the soft tones of Sango and Kagome, appearing as though they were in deep discussion with some other person unknown to him. Miroku sat up and the blanket he was covered in fell around his lap.

“So you decided to wake up?” a young voice said. Miroku turned his head toward the voice and found himself looking into the brown eyes of a child who looked like Kagome did.

“Who are you?” Miroku asked as he pulled his feet off the soft thing. The boy looked at him and smiled.

“I’m Sota, Kagome’s younger brother.” he replied as he stood and faced the door. “InuYasha he’s awake!” the kid yelled as he pulled the shut door open. “You’ve been out for an hour. Sango must have whacked you pretty hard.”

“Damn insufferable monk!” InuYasha growled as he came into the room. Behind him, Sota gasped softly at InuYasha’s choice words.

“InuYasha don’t say those things in front of my brother!” Kagome yelled. “Sit!” InuYasha fell to the floor, giving it a warm welcome. Sota looked at the face planted hanyou and laughed.

“Oi when I get up I’m going to…” InuYasha growled as he managed to look Kagome in the eye. She gave him a glare and stuck her hands on her hips.

“Your going to do what?” InuYasha’s stomach turned over, he had forgotten the wrath of the female inu yokai. These females can do a lot of damage when extremely pissed.

“Nothing, never mind.” InuYasha said as he laid his face back on the ground, hoping she’ll take it for submission instead of refusing an answer.

“You better tell me!” no such luck. A low growl began deep within his throat.

“Sota, will you please show me as to where Sango currently has placed her glorious bottom?” Miroku asked before it could turn into a full blown dominance fight and the kid would have to witness the blood bath. The growl from InuYasha deepened as he stood, flexing his claws.

Miroku hurriedly pushed Sota out of the room and shut the door. Kagome started her low growl as InuYasha approached her.

> You dare disobey the leader?< InuYasha growled in inu yokai.

>Leader? Bah!< Kagome growled back as she stood her ground. She knew she was weaker than InuYasha but she had one thing he didn’t.

>You DARE to speak to Leader Male in this way!< InuYasha growls deepened as he leapt in front of Kagome and cornered her.

>I will speak to a leader when I see him.< she growled back. InuYasha looked at her and howled before he jumped out of her open window.

>female forsakes the pack!< came InuYasha’s nearly inaudible bark. >and she forsakes me<

Kagome whined as she fell to the floor, on her knees her hands holding up her face. “What have I done?”

***InuYasha***

InuYasha raced across the tree tops, howling and barking his frustration, alerting all the canines in the area he was pissed. He landed in an area he was familiar with during the past, a small clearing that held nothing but the remains of several huts besides a hot spring, the place in which he had began to construct, with Miroku’s help, his village. He pulled a handful of dirt into the palm of his hand and sniffed it. It still held his scent. He whined and curled up on the soft dirt next to the hut he started to call his own.

>Kagome< he whimpered as he dug his claws into the soil.

>InuYasha?< the reply came, faintly.

>Why?< he spoke to her.

>I don’t know what came over me. I feel different. And I know it has nothing to do with being home. And for some odd reason, Shippo backs away from me.< Kagome growled.

InuYasha thought back to one of the conversations he had held with Myoga.

“Lord InuYasha, when a female first comes to heat she will grow angry and then remorseful. She will cause her pups to stay away and the males of the packs will come. You InuYasha bear your father’s blood and even your brother can not resist the pull of a female’s scent. Lucky for you, it will not affect you until the full moon, in which your demonic aura is at it’s peak.” Myoga said as he sat on InuYasha’s shoulder. “Did you hear me?”

“Yeah yeah, whatever.” InuYasha said as he gnawed on the carcass of a rabbit.

&# 8220;Shit!” he growled as he punched the soft ground. The full moon was tonight and he couldn’t leave his pack.

>InuYasha!< Kagome’s frantic cry came.

Immediately InuYasha dashed towards her scent intending to save her. From who or from what he didn’t know.

***Kagome***

Kagome stumbled away from the entrance to the shrine. “Come here you smell so good.” a man said as he came closer to her.

“Back off!” she growled and managed to shred his arm with a swipe of her claws.

“Oh so you want to play that way eh?” the man chuckled and from his back sprouted a pair of wings.

“Demon?” she asked.

“Demon? There are only a few left on this planet, the rest are hanyou like me and you.” he chuckled as his wings beat against the ground.

“She’s mine!” a fierce growl came as InuYasha leapt at the hanyou and sliced him to bits with his sword.

“InuYasha?” Kagome asked as she stepped closer.

“Stay away.” InuYasha said as he looked up at her. His golden eyes began to turn red as he looked at her.

“What’s wrong?” she asked as he dropped the sword. She started to shake as he came closer and leapt at her. In a heart pounding second she felt her blood rush and her eyes cloud over.

“Mine!” InuYasha growled as he grabbed her arm. Kagome growled back and fought against his strength, to no avail.

***Shippo***

The kit watched as his adopted mother turned full demon in an effort to ward InuYasha off. The two fought until InuYasha managed to fling her into a tree knocking her senseless. He picked the girl up and snarled at the kit and took off into the trees.

“Miroku! Sango!” Shippo yelled as he ran into the house.

“What?” Miroku and Sango both asked from the couch thing they were sitting on.

“InuYasha and Kagome turned full demon and fought. InuYasha knocked her out and took off with her. I don’t know where they went and Kagome’s scent has changed.” Shippo said hysterical.

“InuYasha took off with her?” Miroku asked while Sango looked thoughtful.

“She’s in heat. InuYasha’s demon side takes over more on the full moon, a night like tonight.” Sango said after a while.

“You mean they might mate?” Shippo asked.

“Not if we get to them first.” Miroku said as he stood.
