[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Prologue
Kagome sat in the nursery, the sunset illuminating the room with bright colours. In her arms, she held a baby, snow-white hair and brown eyes.

The Yin and Yang of the child's parents, the heart of a demon and that of a human, working together in perfect harmony.

Kagome sang a bittersweet melody to the child, holding it close to her body. She closed her eyes, the tune flowing out from her mouth, as if spilling out of her, it just continued on.

The baby cooed, raising his wrinkled arm to touch Kagome's chest. She smiled back down at the child, singing louder, and stronger. The tune grew, from a soft melody, to a requiem of hope.

Well, not hope for everyone.

A woman across the room stood by the baby's bed, tears falling down her cheeks. She ran her hands over her stomach, feeling the ache of what was growing inside of her. Kagome's requiem of hope just reminded the girl of what she had done to her best friend, her only friend. She had tainted something so pure and innocent, such a beautiful and blossoming relationship. But then she had to come into the picture. She had turned Kagome and Inuyasha's fairy tale love story into something disgusting, gross. She had fallen for Inuyasha; hard. It had just been something quiet, descreet, a couple of kisses here and there, no big deal.

But then she had to go and get pregnant.

Inuyasha awoke to the sound of shrill screaming. Kagome was already getting out of bed and heading to the nursery, when he finally caught up to her. “Go back to bed, I'll take care of him.”

“B-but…” Kagome persisted, her eyes glazed with sleep, “he probably needs me to…”

“Go back to bed,” he cooed, patting her on the head, comforting her.

She nodded, her eyes already half-closed. She walked back to the bed and yawned loudly before falling into a deep sleep.

Inuyasha tiptoed into the nursery, the infants screams still shrill and urgent. He sighed, looking into the child's crib. The child looked back at him, his brown eyes reflecting his mother perfectly. Inuyasha felt a pang of guilt in his heart when he realized that when Kagome had been busy creating this… life, he had been fooling around, and regrettably, falling for someone else.

Becky crept into the room, her tight clothes seemingly tighter than usual. A slight bulge was starting to form on her stomach, causing stress on her tailored clothes.

Her orange hair fell down in front of her face as she leaned over next to Inuyasha, looking down at the baby. “Funny, huh? About what can be made out of just cells and atoms, about how two people can create something so… amazing, so…”

“Yeah…” Inuyasha said dreamily, placing his hand on Becky's. it made him ache, loving her so much. He wished so much that he could fall out of love with her, and just get back to the way he had felt about Kagome, but he just loved this girl too damn much.

Becky opened her mouth to say something about the baby to Inuyasha, but held her tongue. She didn't know why she didn't tell him, but she felt that the growing mass inside of her should be kept a secret for the time being.

Kagome awoke late-afternoon, shaken from her slumber by a familiar sound. The baby crying.

She got up, walking to the nursery. She ran her hand absentmindedly over her stomach, still bulging out a bit, still making her want to be pregnant once again.

When she got to the infant's crib, it made her heart melt. Now the baby was living, moving, and breathing. They both had a heart, instead of one, they were both beating to different tunes, different rythms, but still running down the same road.

Becky woke up urgently, feeling an awkward and horrible feeling in her stomach. She looked down to her body and realized that her pyjamas had ripped across the stomach. Her belly had grown, ripping the seam. She sighed, lying back in her bed.

I was supposed to be the nanny, not a mother myself.

She traced her stomach, feeling the skin.

Another pang of guilt hit her, right in the heart.

In five moons, I'm going to be a mother.

The sorceress cackled, looking into her pot of boiling oil. It amused her to watch this struggling home, the struggling parent.

But this was beginning to bore her, she had set out her minions on the young couple, like Naraku and the band of seven, but Inuyasha had beaten them. When Becky came along, things actually seemed like they would get interesting, but now things were boring once more. She longed to find another twist, for something completely shocking to happen.

How about instead of 9 moons, she has 9 days? Shocking indeed, I believe.

She cackled maniacly, stirring the oil.

Only 4 and a half days left, young Becky.
