Chapter 17~Sanity Lost?

~~~Inuyasha roared in anger as he glared at the officers that were keeping him from Kagome. He had posted bail and yet they refused to let her go. They said, that she was being sent to the doctors. They had reason to question her sanity. But that was all they told him. They would not tell him anything else which was driving him furious. Tired of all the games he picked up his cell phone and dialed his brothers private number.

"Yes Inuyasha?" came the sound of his older brothers cool calm voice.

"I need you to call in some favors Sess." Inuyasha growled angerly into the phone. Once he explained what he knew and what he wanted he disconnected with his brother and paced the waiting area.

~~~He shouldnt of waited. He cursed himself for being stupid. He had heard of Kagome's arrest hours ago, but had also heard that Hojo was there trying to bail her out. So Inuyasha had made a decision. He wanted to see what Kagome would do. There was still uncertainties about her loyalty to Hojo, and wether or not she was apart of Hojo's plans to steal thier company secrets. In his heart Inuyasha knew that Kagome was innocent, just as Kyoto knew it in hers. There was sadness and pain, and lots of guts in the girl, but there was no bitterness or malice in her. But for the sake of his sister and brothers stake in the family company, as well as his parents, he had to be sure, it was his job. So he had let Hojo bail her out. Waited and watched to see what would happen.

~~~Inuyasha had been surprised when he found out Kagome had refused Hojo's bail. But still he had waited. He had needed to be sure if it was all an act or not. So he had waited, he had watched to see if she made any calls, to see if Hojo returned or sent someone else in his place to bail her out. He needed to be sure. At least thats what he kept telling himself, now he wasnt sure at all. Again her cursed himself for being a fool. He should of rushed to her when he first found out, be damned with Hojo. He should of gotten her out, should of done something, anything to keep her from going through this. He didnt really know what this feeling in his gut was, but he had learned long ago, never to disregard what his gut was telling him, and it was telling him now that something was very very wrong and Kagome was in trouble. It had seemed like forever before he watched his brother walk into the station house. But it had only been but 15 minutes or so.

"Did you call in those favors?" Inuyasha asked the moment Sess came into the building. Everyone's eyes turned to look at his brother. Some no doubt knew who he was, others? Others just felt the aura that surrounded him. When Sess walked into a room, his precense was always so commanding and powerfull. He talked calmly yet his voice carried a wealth of emotion. All he had to do was say a word and people did it withou question. Not out of fear, but out of the respect he seemed to demand just by his very presence.

"Of course." Sess replied in that smooth deep calm tone, and looked at his watch. Before Inuyasha could say a word the doors to the station swung open and a man dressed in a very expensive suit and coat stomped in, two men in black flanking each side of him. Everyone knew who he was, he was the mayor of Tokyo, and one of the most powerfull men in all the city. But even he had allies, and favors to do for others that had helped him out once upon a time, Sess having been one of them.

"Hello Mayor Kimata." Sess greeted as the two men shook hands. Inuyasha knew not to say anything. Before the mayor could greet Sess back, two other doors burst open from behind the large counter where the night guard sat. Again this man to was recognizable. It was the chief of police. He was just about to say something whent he doors to the front of the building burst open again and in waltzed someone who made both Sess and Inu groan.

"Where is she?? Wheres Kagome?? Why is she not out of here already?? Why didnt you two tell me what had happened?" came the almost paniced but angry voice of thier little sister Kyoto.

"Calm down sister..we are about to rectify the situation." came Sess's calm but comforting tone. When it came to thier little sister, Sess found it hard to remain aloof.

"Get her out NOW Sess!" Kyoto just about commanded franticly, both Inu and Sess looked at her oddly.

"You guys dont understand...this...this...Kagome...she cant handle being locked up..it might be too much for her to handle..." Kyoto replied more quietly but no less urgently. Tears started to slip from her eyes and both Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru gritted thier teeth in effort to calm themselves down. They hated to see thier baby sister cry, and she rarely ever did if. Something was wrong here.

~~~Making a coughing noise, the chief of police ushered them all into his private office. He had gotten a call from the mayor just a few minutes before asking about why a certain girl who had been arrested earlier, wasnt being released on bail when confronted with Mr Inuyasha Takashi's request for them to do so. The chief had looked into it immediatly and was a bit disturbed by a few things.

"So why was my brother denied to right to bail Miss Hiragashi out?" Sess asked without preamble.

"Whn the mayor bought this to my attention a few moments ago I looked into it myself..it seems that she denied bail.." the chief began to only be cut off by Inuyasha.

"She denied Hojo's bail..not mine Im sure." he replied angerly.

"Yes...Mr Hagashi tried to bail her out earlier it seems but she denied his offer to do so..we are not quite sure why she did this but she was granted her wish and taken to..taken to a private cell...to ummm think things over." came the nervous reply of the chief. Everyone looked at him with narrowed eyes.

"You mean she was placed in solitary confinement for pissing off Mr Hagashi wasnt she?" Inuyahsa asked pointedly and with much anger. People feared the younger Takashi brothers temper, one he was famous for and not many people liked being on the recieveing end of it. The chief didnt know what to say that would help matters but since he was now having the gaurd who had done this to Miss Hiragashi, he might as well say what he thought and what he had found.

"Yes..its seems one of our guards took it upon herself to make Miss Hiragashi think on the errors of her ways so to speak and put her in one of the less used cells...in the guards stupidity she ignored Miss Hiragashi's calls, and for some reason that we are unsure of Miss Hiragashi then commenced to..well to ummm hurt herself by gauging long gashes into her arm with her fingernails...when she was looked upon a few hours later she was taken to the infermary ward and right now she is being held for observation..she seems to have fallen into some sort of trance like state...I was told there might be some question to her sanity..thats why they are reluctant to let her be released." explained the chief. Inuyasha was growling low in his throat and it was taking everything in him to not rip the mans heart out. Hurt all of them for hurting Kagome.

"I knew this would happen...you dont understand..any of you...shes not insane or mentally disturbed..you see when Kagome was younger her biological father used to love to torment her and her younger sister by throwing them in a small closet for hours on end..locking them in..ignoring thier cries and pleas to be released...One day Kagome's mother had to go pick her younger sister up at camp because she had gotten ill...she had left Kagome behind, sure she would return in a few hours...Kagome's father had locked her in the closet about half an hour after her mother had left...something happened and thier was a rock slide and Kagome's mother and sister were delayed and hold up in a hotel for two days...Kagome was left in that closet for the entire time...her father had left and forgotten that he had locked her in thier in his drunken stupor...for the first day she had cried and banged on that door to be let out..she pleaded and was ingnored then left alone...Kagome was only six years old then..she was affraid of the dark..and she was affaid of bugs and she could of sworn she could feel bugs crawling on her in that closet..she was alone and hungry, thirsty and needed to go to the bathroom...anyway by the time her mother came back and found her, she had gone into a trance like state..her little mind had just just down, escaped inside of herself to stop the panic and the fear inside of her...ooh she was fine aftera few hours of her mothers attention and apologies..but after that Kagome was never really the same..she cant stand being confined and locked up anywhere..especially someplace small and dark..it freaks her out." Kyoto explained as she broke down in a torrent of tears and let her older brother pull her into a comforting embrace.

"Get her out NOW." came Sess's hard cold tone. He was angry and no one wanted that. As for Inu he was about ready to hurt someone. It was a miracle he hadnt gone into a rampage yet. Which sort of worried both Sess and Kyoto, right now other than fire in his eyes and gritted teeth, and balled up fists, he was calm. This was not like him. And this worried them.

A/N~Okies next chap hope you all like..and no guys just in case ya wondering my dad never did that to us..ya we got tossed in our rooms or a closet on occasion but not for days..sheesh I would of gone bonkers me thinks..lol..anyhow..let me know what ya think, sorry for the short chap but as I said trying to get my muse back by writing so I hope this dont totally suck..anyhow stay well be safe and happy, have a fantastic but totally safe New Years Eve..much huggles and smiles Mija..:-)
