Chapter 4
She looked around as she walked down the hallway. She had many encounters with the demon lord and she didn't like the attention he was giving her. All she wanted was to be non-existent, couldn't he understand that?
“Of course not,” she whispered silently. “He wants the popularity. He watches as people bow towards him in fear.”
She shook her head. The day was turning out for her worse then se expected. She couldn't take it. She wanted the day done and over with.
She became lost in her thoughts of freedom and she bumped into somebody. “Shit!” she murmured under her breathe, not even looking to see who it was she bumped into. In all reality she didn't really care.
She started picking up her books when the sly, crude yet cold voice answered her, sending shivers up her spine while doing so. “It's rude not to say sorry.”
She finished picking up her books. She looked at him once more and started to walk away. She wanted nothing to do with him.
He grabbed her wrist harshly and threw her against the locker. A solitary tear fell down her face as her bruises connected with the locker doors. He then slammed his arm against the locker door; right beside her face. She looked terrified.
His fierce amber eyes were searching through hers. It was like being interrogated only there were no questions being asked. She shuddered slightly under his gaze.
She growled under her breath as she tried to push him away but he didn't budge. He just stood there, staring at her with his golden eyes.
“It's rude not to say sorry bitch,” he whispered tantalizing. She flinched at the last word, flashing back to this morning's event at home.
“Sorry,” she spat out. “Will you let me go now?”
“No,” he said looking at her up and down.
She looked at him appalled and angry. All she wanted was to be left alone but the bastard hunk in front of her wouldn't. `Wait… bastard hunk? Where the fuck did that come from.' She shook her head from the thought as she glared at him with her intense blue, grey, eyes.
“What the fuck do you want with me?”
“I don't want anything from you. All I want is to get to know you. I've never seen you around in the school.”
“Let's keep it that way shall we?”
She tried walking away again but the same thing happened. She was slammed against the locker door but this time it was harder. The bruises pounded hardly against her back with pain and this time instead of just glaring at him; she crumbled to the floor in a ball.
The pain was overwhelming.
Both the new and old bruises were pounding pain into her back like no tomorrow and she couldn't escape that pain to look at the fierce man above her.
It was all too much.
Everything around her was blackening. `NO! I can't be this weak. I have to stay awake…. I have to…'

He looked down at the body below him. “Shit, what the hell?”
He looked around the hallway, he was glad no one was in the hallway to subject him to lectures about throwing girls against lockers. The only problem was he didn't throw her against it that hard at all. He was surprised the first time when a tear appeared but he had thought nothing of it. Maybe he should have rethought that.
He grabbed her and pulled her up, finally picking her up in the bridal style position. He didn't want to hurt her too much and he wouldn't have been able to throw her on his back properly.
He began to walk down the hallway.
His thoughts were going over how the whole scene played out.
He remembered her bumping into him. He had done that purposely. He wanted to encounter her again. What he didn't expect though, was to be ignored like that.
He was, for some reason, infuriated by it. He couldn't pin point why though. It would bother him for a while.
Then he thought back to her retaliation. She had been frisky about wanting to be left alone. That had made him inwardly smirk. He always had respect for women that could hold themselves well in a conversation.
He looked back down to the girls face. He had remembered smelling the salty scent of tears before she blacked out. He could see the tears on her face and the redness that came along with them.
He continued to walk down the hallway.
He was just going to drop her off to the nurse and leave.
That was the plan.
He finally got her there and knocked on the door, with slight difficulty.
“Yes?” the nurse called. He entered the room with Kagome in his arms. “Oh, Sesshomaru, what brings you here?”
He could tell the nurse was looking at Kagome with weird eyes but he didn't care. “I came to bring her to you, she blacked out in the hallway.” He didn't want to give the nurse the impression that he had something to do with it.
The nurse nodded looking at him then the girl. “Well put her on the table and I'll see what I can do. Would you like to stay Sesshomaru?”
“No, I only came to bring her here.”
“You know, depending on how bad it is, I might need someone to bring her to her father.” The nurse said, trying to get him to stay.
“She has friends that can do that for her. I don't want any personal contact with her.” He whispered to the nurse as he turned around to leave. He could hear the nurse sigh but he didn't care. He just wanted out of there.
“Sesshomaru,” the nurse whispered, hoping to get his attention.
He stopped before the door. He wasn't going to turn around, he was just going to stand there and listen to what the nurse had to say. After that he would be gone. There was nothing else to it.
“Please Sesshomaru just stay for a little bit. All you have to do is wait in the waiting room. Is that too much to ask?”
He snorted casually as he turned and made his way to the waiting room. He didn't know what was possessing him to do this but he did it.
Instead of just leaving he was sitting and waiting.
What the hell was going on in his mind? `Why am I doing thing? I just want out of here. Stupid Insolent Girl!'
It was a twenty minute wait. The nurse finally came out and looked at Sesshomaru. “Someone will have to bring her home.”
“What's wrong?” he said coldly not even looking at the nurse but instead just looking straight across from him.
“She has large amounts of bruising on her back. From the looks of it she blacked out due to pain.” The nurse informed him but he didn't make a move or twitch. He just sat there with his eyes gazing across from him for no particular reason.
“I see.”
“She has to go home and put some ice on her back.”
“You can do it.” He said looking at the nurse. “I'm not taking responsibility for her.”
With this he got out of the chair and walked through the waiting room to the door. He opened the door silently and slammed it behind him with a large amount of force.
