A.N: Hello! Hope you all like this new fanfic "Forever yours, always mine." Review if you like it! Even if you don't like it please review so you can tell me what I did wrong or what could be better. Bye for now. Kristina :)

Chapter 1:

Kagome sighed as she glared at the passing couples. She was sitting on a bench at the park by herself. Eri and some of her other friends had tried to persuade her to go to the mall with them. Kagome was so not in the mood. She kept telling herself that she loved her friends and not to be annoyed with them. Some times though, she found that really hard. They seemed to have a thing with butting into her personal life. Sure they were her friends and all but always trying to set her up with Hojo and going on and on about what a jerk Inuyasha was really got on her nerves.

Speaking of Inuyasha that was another reason she was in such a bad mood. Kagome and him hadn't quite been getting along over the past few days..........Actually, it was about 2 weeks ago that he had started acting so weird........

*~*~* Flashback *~*~*

He lay there in the rain not wanting to believe what had just happened. He had failed. Failed again. Sure he had tried.....He had given it is all had.......He wanted to say that, he should be able to say that. After all he couldn't even move right now. But for Inuyasha, for someone with as much pride and determination as him, it just wasn't good enough. Good enough would had been if he had saved her. Good enough would be if he could hold his head high and say that he had made up for past mistakes and protected her. But no. He couldn't say or do any of that.

Naraku had killed Kikyo again, and for the second time Inuyasha had failed to protect her. The guilt was inside of him destroying him slowly yet again.

"Inuyasha?" Came Kagomes small voice from under the loud sounds of the pouring rain.

He ignored her not wanting to face the shame. He assumed that she was either mad, sad, or disappointed. Come to find it was none of the above.

"Inuyasha you shouldn't be out in this. Your badly hurt and you could easily catch a cold. We should tend to you wounds."

~So that's it. She's worried about me again. I didn't want to be tended to. Right now I just wanted to die too..........Wait. What am I thinking? This is Kagome who's talking to me. The girl I really care about. If I wasn't here what would happen to her? Who would take care of and protect this innocent and perfect girl? Speaking of which I could swear I told Miroku and Sango not to let her out of their sight a while back.......Shouldn't she be with them?

"Kagome I thought I told you to stay with Miroku and Sango. I can't protect you right now." Inuyasha said weakly.

"They're still here, they wouldn't leave us. Besides Naraku is gone.........Inuyasha......I'm so sorry......" Kagome said bowing her head.

His first instinct was to snap at her and let out some of his anger. He couldn't right now though. After realizing that someone you care about can be gone so fast, he was seeing her in a new light. She was like a valuable treasurer that he had to take care of at all times.

"Don't feel bad." He said softly. "I tried to save her and it just wasn't in my power to do so. She can be a peace now."

Kagome looked up her eyes full of shock. She couldn't believe her ears. What happened to Inuyasha? Sure this nice, new him was awesome but the old him seemed to have left.

"It must be hard though........" Kagome said hoping not to make him mad. " It must be hard.....losing someone you love."

"I don't love her anymore Kagome." Inuyasha said seriously. " I haven't love her for a long time. I just felt I owed it to her to protect her and take care of her. I tried and did my best. That will have to be enough."

Once again Kagome couldn't believe what she was hearing......Inuyasha didn't love Kikyo? And better yet, hadn't loved her for a long time? What was going on here? Oh well. If this was how things were going to be now she was not one that would try to change it. Kagome called for Miroku and Sango and together they helped Inuyasha up and the six friends started on their journey home. As they walked Kagome had so many thoughts going through her head.

*What changes will there be now that Kikyo is dead and not coming back? Will Inuyasha keep acting like this or was he delirious or something? I don't know what's going on, but I wonder what's going to happen next.*

Will that was nice and all, Kagome thought bitterly, except I know what came next. And let me tell you, it wasn't all that wonderful.
