I'm standing on the bridge,

Sesshomaru looked over at Rin, who was sleeping curled up in his tail. She's had such a sad little life. He thought. All alone, nobody who really cares...he unconciously wrapped his tail a little tighter around her. Suddenly he could smell something out in the woods a little way off. He had to go see what it was, but he didn't want to wake Rin...he gave an almost imperceptible sigh and started to unwrap his tail.

Isn't anyone trying to find me,

Won't somebody come take me home?

It's a damn cold night,

Trying to figure out this life,

Won't you take me by the hand take me somewhere new,

Rin woke up. Sesshomaru silently cursed.

"What is it, Sesshomaru-sama?"

"It is nothing. Go back to sleep."

"Okay. Will Sesshomaru-sama wrap his tail around Rin again? Rin is cold."

"No. I need to go look over there."

"B-but-"

"What?"

"Nothing." Sesshomaru could see that she was trying very hard not to cry.

"What is it, Rin?"

"Nothing, Sesshomaru-sama."

I'm looking for a place,

"Well...Rin is afraid of the dark, Sesshomaru-sama. And of being alone." She buried her face in Sesshomaru's kimono. "Please don't leave Rin alone?"

"But- but Jaken is mean! He calls Rin mean things and said he'd make her into a soup!"

"Did he?" He could smell what it was now. Just some stupid Racoon. "Rin, curl up and get back to sleep."

"Will Sesshomaru-sama stay with Rin?"

"Yes." Then, privatly, he thought 'forever'.
