~~~~~~~~~~LATER THAT DAY~~~~~~~~~~~

 

“Thanks for walking me home, Hojo-kun!” Kagome said cheerfully. Why do I always end up with Hojo? I don't even like this guy! Oh, well. Only if it keeps my mind off Inu-baka.

 

“No problem! It was my pleasure.” Hojo grabbed Kagome's hand and kissed the back of it.

 

Kagome rolled her eyes but smiled back at him. “How can I repay you? `Cause I did waste your time by walking back to my shrine.”

 

“Oh you don't have to do anything! But I was wondering…”

Oh, here we go again. He's going to ask me to go to the movies with him or get a bite to eat.

 

“…if you can come to my house tomorrow? I need help in some art and I know you would be the right person to ask because you are perfect at drawing, Kagome-sama.”

 

Whoa! What happened to the sweet Hojo?!

 

“Ummmm…sure! What time do you want me to come over and help you?”

 

“I was hoping you could just walk with me to my house after school. Is that alright with you?”

 

“Oh, yeah! I have no problem with that. So, I will see you tomorrow.”

 

“Good-bye, Kagome-sama.” And with that, Hojo gave Kagome a chaste kiss on the lips.

 

To Kagome, she was surprised about his little performance. She stood there with shock. He wavered at her saying good-bye with his hand and disappeared. She stood there god knows how long and shook herself back to life. She turned to walk up the shrine steps and thought. No sign of Inuyasha yelling at me for letting Hojo kiss me. As a matter of fact I haven't, seen him all day today. He wouldn't still be with Kikyo…would he? Kagome got to the front of the shrine a stared at her shrine. She decided against going inside and headed towards the well.

 

Oh, kami, what if Inuyasha is there? Well I'll just tell him I have to got get my things and return back to my era. He's going to be so mad at me…wait a second…why would he be mad at me when I didn't run off with another person?! Oh I am so getting back at him!

 

With that, Kagome jumped through the well and went back 500 years. She climbed the ladder and was attacked by a ball of orange fur ball.

 

“Well hello there Shippo-kun!” Kagome said cheerfully once again trying to mask her feelings.

 

Shippo sobbed into her shirt. “Where were you Okaa-san?! I didn't want you to leave me again! I don't want to be alone again! Don't leave me please!”

 

Kagome just stared dumbfounded at the little bundle in her arms. Feeling herself getting a little water in her eyes. “Oh, Shippo-kun! I would never ever leave you! I promise you with all my heart! Why would you ever think of me leaving you?!”

 

“I lost my family before; I don't want to lose what I have finally gotten again!” He cried out.

 

Kagome tightened her hold of what is called her son now. She felt so sorry for Shippo that she adopted him so she could take of him and be his Okaa-san.

 

Kagome started to walk again and headed towards the village. She had to ask Shippo where Inuyasha was. She just HAD to.

 

“Hey Shippo-kun I was wondering where Inuyasha-kun is. He is usually here with you scowling at you.”

 

“We don't know. Last time we saw him was when he was running back to camp asking where you were. We told him the last time we saw you and he started to growl. And he cursed many times before he howled and ran off towards the well. But what I found interesting is that you haven't seen him but he went to well.”

 

Kagome thought about the moment when she walked in her room and it felt like someone was watching her, but she shrugged at the thought. “Oh, well. He'll come back, knowing him.”

 

By the time there conversation was over, her and Shippo were in Kaede's hut. Kagome remembered why she was here and asked where her stuff was when the last time she was here.

 

“Oh, Sango gathered your stuff together and I think she has it with her right now.” He replied.

 

“Do you know where Sango-san is right now?”

 

“I'm right here!” Sango replied Kagome by entering the hut and opened her arms for a hug.

 

Kagome went up to her Sango who seemed like a sister to her, and gave her a big hug.

 

“Where did you run off to last night? Why did you runaway? Is everything okay?!” Sango chanted on and on.

 

“I can't really stay long and tell you the story. I came back here to get my things and go back to my time. I have a big test that will affect all my grades, so I need to take it.”

 

Sango nodded and handed Kagome her things and once Kagome had her things she ran off down to go to her time.

 

Kagome got to her room and sat down at her desk thinking about where Inuyasha could be.

 

And WHY do I care?

 

Cause you love him. A voice replied at the back of her head.

 

“What do you want now?”

 

I was just answering your obvious answer. You know you want him. I love him! You want to his mate. Admit it. You want him to be in you!

 

“LEAVE ME ALONE!”

 

I proved my point you see. You don't have a comeback! I was right! Well of course I'm right…I'm YOU!

 

“I will do anything if you just SHUT UP!”

 

Why should I? I'm just proving OUR point!

 

“LEAVE ME ALONE! JUST LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE! FUCKING SHUT UP! Just leave me alone!” she cried. She knew that voice was right. She knew. But she couldn't show it.

 

Wake up Kagome. You gotta study for the test…you gotta…she then drifted off to sleep. But what she did not know she had red eyes staring at her. Watching protectively over her.
