Hidden Past Hidden Self: The Movie
Freak Out!
Chapter 1: The Reunion
16 years earlier…
He lay dormant, unmoving with in his aviary, as time went by. The shadows danced around his encasing and through the solitary hole in his enclosure. He slept physically, but mentally, he was awake and ready for vengeance. Inside that seemingly lifeless body, his spirit stirred and yearned to be set free. `I need the maiden's blood; the hanyou maiden's blood from the prophecy foretold so long ago.' The gentle breeze flew in through the hole, ruffling his raven hair. `I need the blood of Inu no Taisho's daughter. Only then will I be free from my captivity.'
The aura of the forest suddenly jumped in excitement, and he easily felt it as it praised the life that had come anew. `It is her! The hanyou maiden of the foretold prophecy has been born!' He may not have been able to smile, but he snickered with in himself nonetheless. `I, the great Nigiyaka will be set loose of this incantation once she comes my way and I obtain her blood.'

Theme song: Freak Out by Avril Lavigne
Try to tell me what I shouldn't do
You should know by now
I won't listen to you
Walk around with my hands
Up in the air
`Cause I don't care.
`Cause I'm all right
I'm fine
Just freak out let it go
I'm gonna live my life
I can't ever run and hide
I won't compromise
`Cause I'll never know
I'm gonna close my eyes
I can't watch the time go by
I won't keep it all inside
Freak out let it go
Just freak out let it go
You don't always have to
Do everything right
Stand up for yourself
And put up a fight
Walk around with your hands
Up in the air
Like you don't care
I'm all right
I'm fine
Just freak out let it go
I'm gonna live my life
I can't ever run and hide
I won't compromise
`Cause I'll never know
I'm gonna close my eyes
I'm gonna close my eyes
I can't watch the time go by
I won't keep it inside
Freak out let it go
Let it go
On my own
Let it go
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah….
Just let me live my life
I can't ever run and hide
I won't compromise
`Cause I'll never know
I'm gonna close my eyes
I can't watch the time go by
I won't keep it inside
Freak out let it go
Just freak out let it go!
"Mika!! Will you cut that out?!" Kane-Sakura yelled at the wolf-demon, who was scrounging through her backpack.
Koga's little sister looked up from her prize to the angry hanyou. She smirked. In her most cocky tone, she replied, "Why; is there something in here you don't want me to find?"
InuYasha's younger half-sibling growled. "No, of course not! Just get your filthy paws out of there!"
"Oh, you know it's important if she's yelling and turning red." Mika continued her quest, now checking everything more thoroughly to find what wasn't meant to be discovered.
"Why you…!"
A girl dressed in monk robes parted the two demons with her staff. "That's enough you two!" Michi, Miroku's half-sister, yelled. Angry at her interruption, Mika and Kane both hit her head with their fists. "Itai! Yuki, a little help here?!"
Kane and Mika's older half-sister sat in the shade, enjoying Myrako's company. "Why should I? They'll only try to kill each other…again."
Michi sighed heavily. "Come on!"
"Heel!" BOOSH!!
"Stay!" BOOSH!!
"Heel!" GRUNT!!
"Stay!" GRUNT!!
"Oh boy, there they go again." A man with a white ponytail and green eyes picked up the backpack Mika had been going through. The three-quarter's Neko shrugged and started going through it himself. "All I see in here is food, bathing supplies…" He paused as he lifted out a pair of pink undies and a bra. "…Kane's undergar…" BONK!! "…ments." He finished his sentence in the ground as his voice cracked.
Kane grabbed her underwear and threw them back in the backpack. "Hentai! The whole world doesn't need to hear about or see what's in my backpack!" Kane yelled as she buckled the pack closed.
Nakura, Mika's `traveling companion' and Naraku's incarnation, helped the wolf demon stand. "What's in there that made you heel Mika into a crater?"
"Oh I know!" Michi brightened. "It's protect…"
"BE-----G!!" Michi slammed into the ground. "No, you perverted monk; it's not that!" Kane argued as she turned red.
A tall man with a long, black braid of hair strolled up to Kane-Sakura, calmly asking, "Might I inquire as to why you did that?"
She pointed an angry finger into his chest. "Your girlfriend needed to be taught how to shut up, Ori!" He stepped back as her anger escalated. "Her perverse mind was getting out of hand!"
"Don't you carry some for the whole group though?" Yuki asked innocently.
All three girl's veins twitched in annoyance. "DOWN!!" They all hollered. Yuki was pulled to the ground by the mark on her forehead.
The three men watched as all four women began to duke it out; Setsuna in the middle, Ori to his left and Nakura to his right. "Aren't they supposed to be friends?" Setsuna asked as they watched the cloud of dust rush past them to the right. The other two nodded. A giant sweat drop formed on all three heads. "Shouldn't we do something?"
"Do you want to get involved in that?" Nakura asked as the girls tumbled by again. Ori and Setsuna shook their heads.
To end it all, Yuki put each one of them, excluding herself, in a barrier. Kane's hair was messed up and her face and kimono were covered in dirt. Mika sat on her haunches, unscathed (since she'd done most of the damage herself, she remained unharmed), but frustrated at the barrier. Michi's eyes were swirling in her head from getting hit every time she ducked behind Kane only to get hit by either Yuki or Mika(mostly Mika) when Kane would dodge the blow easily.
In the village, the spectators parted as InuYasha and Kaeda approached the group of teenagers. "What the hell are you guys doing over here?!" InuYasha asked as Yuki put down her barriers. "It sounded like a battle broke out!"
All three guys pointed at the girls, who all in turn pointed at Kane-Sakura. "What the hell…?! How is it all my fault?! Mika was the one who started rummaging through my backpack!"
InuYasha sighed and motioned for her to follow him by curling in his index finger toward his body. Kane sat on the ground and stared as he started to walk away. Reluctantly, she followed him. Then he turned around. "Not just you; every one of you wenches."
The women seethed with anger at his last word. Kane knew how they felt and said softly, yet firmly, "Sit…" He fell into the ground hard.
That same night, all the girls ignored each other. They didn't speak, except when spoken to by InuYasha, Miroku, Sango, or Kaeda. Setsuna decided he should be the peacemaker of the group, so he started with Kane. "How long are you going to hold a grudge against Mika for looking in your backpack?" He looked over at the wolf demon as she pretended to be more interested in her food than the conversation. "I'm sure she didn't try to humiliate you."
Kane growled slightly. "You and Michi were the ones that embarrassed me; Mika just got on my nerves."
"Keh! It's my job mutt-face!" Mika slurped some ramen into her mouth with her chopsticks.
Setsuna looked over at Yuki and Michi who both looked into the fire, `preoccupied' with their meals to talk or listen. `Maybe it's best I let them stay this way. I'm sure they'll come to an understanding sooner or later.' He looked out the hut's single window and gazed up at the stars. ` Kane's mad at me too; maybe I should take her aside tonight and talk to her.'
Mika stood and stomped towards the hut's door flap. "I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm turning in early." She faked a yawn and a stretch. "So, if you'll excuse me…" She sauntered out of the hut, her real intent on getting away from the uncomfortable silence evident.
It wasn't much later that InuYasha, Nakura, and Ori left to sleep outside of the hut as well. Miroku tried to stay behind because he felt it was his duty to protect the women in the hut. Sango just dragged him out of the hut with the other men, muttering something about Setsuna handling the job just fine. The fire soon extinguished itself and the girls fell asleep.
Kane lay on her mat, staring out of the window at the stars and the nearly new moon. `InuYasha will be human soon. Let's hope he doesn't decide to do something stupid.' She looked over at his branch as he slept against the trunk of his tree. Setsuna rested only a few feet away from her mat and when she rolled over, she saw that he seemed contently asleep. Her eyes grew heavy and she soon fell into a light sleep.
"Are you really mad at me?" His voice said abruptly.
Kane groaned. "Not now; I'm trying to sleep."
"But I just wanna know if what I did angered you. You just seemed really on edge tonight."
"Setsuna, "Kane opened her eyes at last. "I'm not one to hold a grudge for long. Besides, I'm only angry with Mika for starting the whole thing anyway. I'm sure that by tomorrow, all will be forgotten."
The Neko demon stood. "Come with me."
Kane blinked twice and stared at him. "Why?"
He turned back to her. "I just want to talk where prying ears and eyes won't bother us." He pulled his fingers through his long white ponytail. "And don't worry; I'm not Trowa after all."
Kane and Setsuna walked out of the hut. Once they had, Michi and Yuki sat up. "What's up with those two?" Michi inquired.
"Who knows? Want to follow along and find out?" Yuki snickered slightly.
Mika stuck her head into the window from up top the roof. "Where are those two going?"
"We're gonna follow them to find out. Wanna join?" Michi said in a hush.
"I'll go along, as long as they don't start doing something nasty that my eyes would be scarred forever by." Mika shivered at the thought as she jumped down from the hut.
"Don't forget about us." The boys said. Nakura stood beside Mika, looking at her in a manner that made her blush while Ori carefully caressed Michi's butt from behind her.
"Why are you interested?" Michi asked as she swatted Ori's hand away.
"No reason; except for entertainment. We can't seem to sleep." Nakura said nonchalantly.
They wandered into the wooded area known as InuYasha's forest and found the Goshinboku to rest under. Kane rested against the trunk while Setsuna remained standing. "Okay, what's this all about?"
Setsuna finally came to sit beside her. "What was in your backpack that got you all riled up when Mika started going through it?"
Her face turned a shade darker. "Well, you see…" Kane brought out something from her kimono top. The box was fairly small in size, but was larger than a ring box. "…I bought this for you a little while back; the last time we were in the future in fact." She opened it and took out a silver dragon pendant that was shooting flames and had ruby-red eyes. "I saw it in the store and I thought of you."
Setsuna carefully took the pendant and observed it. "How does it remind you of me?"
Kane sighed. "Well, the flames represent your powers; the jewel symbolizes the changes in your eyes when you protect me; and the dragon…" Kane paused to take the chain and link it around Setsuna's neck. "…I guess it embodies your strength."
Fingering the pendant, he thanked her with a gentle and quick embrace. "Arigato. I'll never take it off."
As they relaxed by the Goshinboku and continued their conversation, an arrow whizzed past Kane's head and stuck itself in the trunk. Startled, Kane unsheathed her sword, Teretsu, in defense and let it transform. "Show yourself!" She hollered, holding the blade in front of her body in self-preservation.
Before she could react, another arrow came sailing out of the thicket from a different direction and stabbed Kane in the arm. `An ambush?!' She reeled to the side, but remained standing. Slowly, she pulled the arrow out of her arm with her own strength as Setsuna put himself between her and the imminent danger.
"Kane, are you hurt?!" The Neko asked as he looked over his shoulder at her. His eyes changed to the hot color of fire as he turned back towards the menace.
"I'll be fine; just a scratch." The hanyou covered the wound with her good hand. "All I care about is the person who shot me."
A kid stepped out of the shield of the darkness. His white hair and green eyes looked way too similar to Setsuna's to just be dismissed as a coincidence. "Father, what are you doing with this woman? Mother needs you!"
After a moment of dazed silence, Setsuna started sputtering, "Wha…what th…the hell d-do you mean? I-I'm not…"
The kid interrupted. "Don't you remember me father? It's me, Nazuki. I'm your son."
Setsuna started sweating uncontrollably. "I don't know how this could be." He turned to Kane. "You've gotta believe me; I'm not a father! I've only had Atsuko and you; nobody else! I'm still a virgin to go with it!"
Nazuki came to stand between them, facing Setsuna. "Father, this woman has tainted you mind." The child responded smartly. "Mother is in grave danger; we must hurry!" Nazuki tugged on Setsuna's large hand with his tiny mitt. "Please, or she'll die!"
"Setsuna, what if this is a trap? Do we help the boy or not?" Kane whispered into the Neko's ear, feeling sympathy for the little boy.
"We'll follow this brat, but stay on guard. If anything seems suspicious at any time, that's our cue to leave." He looked down at the kid. "Okay, lead the way."
"Come on father, this way!" Nazuki pulled Setsuna west.
"Hey kid, how old are you anyway?" Setsuna inquired.
"This woman really has done something to your head! Gone only two weeks and you've lost it!" Nazuki `hmphed'. "Why's she coming with us anyway?"
"That doesn't answer my question; how old are you?"
"I turned eight only a month ago. Don't you remember? You were there!"
Kane began to grow suspicious. "How old were you eight years ago?" She asked.
"Umm, about fourteen or so."
Kane gasped. "Fourteen?! But I'm only sixteen now!"
"I'm part demon and so are you. Years don't really matter to us anyway." Setsuna pointed out.
"I guess." Kane glanced down at the innocent child. "Are you sure you never had any children?"
Setsuna jerked the boy to a stop. "I'm absolutely sure! I've never been a father! To this child, to ANY child! Don't you trust me?!"
"Of course I do, but this boy…"
"I have a name you know. It's a strong name that you picked out for me father." Nazuki smiled big at his `father'.
"For the last time, I'm not your father!" Setsuna said sternly. "Now, where's you mother? We have other important matters that need our attention too."
Nazuki had tears in his eyes as he said, "This way."
They followed the child, unknown to them that someone only a few yards away was more that anxious to meet Kane-Sakura.

Mika sniffed the air, trying desperately to find the two hanyous. `Where did they get to?' She looked around at the foliage and then back at her friends. Ori was carrying Michi as she slept in his arms. He contently looked down at her face as she sighed in contentment against his heartbeat. Nakura was being his normal self; looking casually off into the distance, looking mighty dashing and handsome… Mika shook her head to get rid of the thoughts her mind had conjured. Yuki talked to Myrako about various subjects as she walked along, peering up every once in a while at Mika to see if there was any change in finding Kane and Setsuna.
`Argh!! Where could've those two gone off to in such a hurry?! I can't even make out their God-forsaken scents!' Mika growled low. `They had better not have gone off and gotten lost!'
"Mika?"
Mika jumped out of her skin when Yuki strolled beside her and said her name. She looked up as the wolf demon clung to a tree branch up above her.
"What do you want?" Mika asked as she let go of the branch and landed where she had been originally standing.
"Have you found any traces of Kane and Setsuna?" Yuki asked as Myrako yawned. "Myrako's getting very sleepy as are the others."
Mika sighed. "No, nothing. I suppose we could stop and take a nap to refresh ourselves, although I don't need it."
Yuki bowed in respect. "Thank you Mika. Had we known that Kane and Setsuna would get themselves lost, most of us might've stayed behind."
Mika jumped up into a nearby tree branch and leaned against the trunk. "Keh! Just get some sleep while you can. We won't rest long." But Mika was the first to fall asleep in her branch as everybody else began making a temporary campsite.

The tiny hut was nestled in a small clearing not far from the village. A solitary hole in the roof allowed puffs of smoke from the pit escape as a cooking fire burned. Nazuki pulled Setsuna at a quickened pace as Kane followed.
"What kind of danger is your mother…?" Setsuna stopped when he heard a yell from inside the hut.
Nazuki turned to Setsuna. "She's having my brother or sister and the mid-wife never showed up. Father, she needs your help!"
"M-m-me?! But she's not…I'm not…!" Setsuna stuttered. "You can't be serious!"
Kane huffed. "Looks like you're about to become father again." She pushed him toward the hut door. "I'll help deliver the child, you calm her down."
"But…"
Kane glared at him. "I don't care if it's yours or the spawn of the devil; she needs our help." Then she turned to Nazuki and said calmly, "We'll let you know how she is when we're done, okay?"
He nodded, and went to sit beside the wall of the hut as Kane and Setsuna went in.
The lighting was very dim, but Kane's eyes easily adjusted to it. In a darkened corner lay the figure of a pregnant, frantic woman as she huffed away. "Ma'am, your son came seeking our help. How are doing so far?"
The woman's sapphire eyes looked at both the hanyou and the Neko. "Please help me, I've been doing this for hours and my husband hasn't…" She strained against another hard contraction.
"Do you need to push?" Kane asked as she bent the woman's legs up. When Kane glanced down, she said, "Never mind, you really do need to. Setsuna, get behind her and support her back, the head's crowning."
"Are you sure you know what you're doing?" Setsuna asked as he crawled behind the woman.
"Do we really have a choice in the matter? What if this woman was me; you'd help, wouldn't you?" Kane took off her outer kimono and tossed it aside. "Ma'am, do you have any extra cloths to keep the baby warm?"
She pointed at the opposite corner. Neatly folded on top of a little crude shelf lay some old kimonos Nazuki must've outgrown. Kane instantly grabbed them. Once things were situated, she let the woman push.
Glowing green eyes approached the clearing with incredible speed. “My mate is having my child today, I can smell it." He whispered as he ran. His white hair swirled behind him and whipped his face as his speed increased. He came into the little clearing and saw the small boy patiently seated on the ground. "Nazuki! Is your mother in there?!"
"Father? I thought you were already in there with mother?" Nazuki looked dumbfounded.
`A man that looks like me?' He blinked, but was snapped out of his trance when he heard the screaming of his mate within the hut. "Rya!"
As Kane held the squabbling infant, the man burst through the door flaps, sweat pouring down his face. She looked up at him, then did a double take. "Setsuna? I thought…" Kane then looked behind the woman at the real Setsuna, who also stared up at the strange man; only his eyes weren't curious, they were knowing.
The other man spoke first. "So, my younger brother, we meet again."

Author's Note:
Finally, I was able to get this first chapter of `Freak Out' finished. I know I said I would have it up on MM.org by Monday and since the day I finished it was Tuesday, I must apologize. I was busier than I thought during the weekend and so, I started the chapter on Monday, the day I had planned on putting up on MM.org. With homework and stuff, I couldn't keep up with this the whole time. For those of you who waited patiently, thank you for your patience.
As of now, the movie is only six chapters long. It's short, yes, but very suspenseful and full of new characters that won't be mentioned in the original story, Hidden Past Hidden Self. Please R&R this story. I think you'll find it enjoyable and very much like a movie.
