Inuyasha growled at Miroku and slammed his fist down on the small tray before him, splintering it into pieces. “Do you really think you can beat me at something, lecherous Monk?!”
Miroku closed his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest defiantly. “You shouldn't be so cocky, Inuyasha. A person who doesn't know their short-comings is very unattractive.”
Inuyasha ground his teeth together before spouting off one last time. “Alright, if that's the way you wanna be about it, fine! But I'm gonna give you a run for your money. Don't expect me to go easy on you just because you're my friend.”
“And the same goes for you,” Miroku agreed.
“Alright! Then let's get started!” Inuyasha cried. Miroku nodded in agreement and the soft tinkling of china surrounded them.
Kagome rolled her eyes. “Do men always get like this when they're challenged?”
Sango nodded. “Yes, they do. Especially when their pride is on the line.”
Shippou crossed his tiny arms over his chest, looking disapprovingly at the other men in the small hut. “You'd think by now that they'd have learned that neither of them can hold their sake…”
Kagome's mouth curled into a small, devious smile. “Well,” she commented, “we can always remind them tomorrow. Very very loudly.”
