The first thing that came to Kagome's attention was the splitting headache. For someone not accustomed to drinking, the amount of alcohol she had consumed last night was much more than her limit. She had her reasons. The last thing she had wanted to deal with sober was Kouga.

Once the shock from the sudden headache faded, she noticed the excess weight pressed against her. Opening her eyes, she groaned, moving her hand to shield her eyes from the sunlight that managed to pass through the blinds on her window. As her eyes adjusted, she realized for the first time what the weight against her was. Inuyasha slept soundly against her, half his body still atop her. Her mind was suddenly bombarded by the events of the previous night.

My God… I just had sex with… She didn't finish the thought as a sudden wave of nausea hit her. Rolling out from under Inuyasha, she quickly leapt from bed, tripping noisily over the laptop box that rested beside the bed. Inuyasha awoke with a start, looking around in confusion at the unfamiliar location. Hand over her mouth, she struggled to make her way over to the second floor bathroom when she realized that her pants around her knees were preventing her from moving easily. Kicking them off, she rushed out of the room.

Slamming the door behind her, she made it to the toilet just in time. Her body shook as she fell away from the toilet, a quivering hand wiping away the foul tasting liquid that remained around her mouth. Tears ran down her face as she curled into a ball, the memories flashing through her mind. She had fought him at first. To say she wasn't afraid would be lying, but more importantly, she wanted to know why. Why did he do that? When he told her he loved her, she responded in kind. It was only natural being family. Of course she loved him and expected him to love her the same way, but now it was obvious that his love for her was something she had never expected. Whatever was between them before was broken now. There would be no way of going back to the sibling relationship they shared before. What will happen now? Not knowing made everything worse.

Kagome didn't know what had been worse, her brother having sex with her, or the look on his face while he was doing it. She had never seen someone whose world had just collapsed around them, but she was sure now what it looked like. Words couldn't describe the pain in his face, knowing that what he was doing was wrong and yet not being able to stop himself. It was a sight she never wanted to see again. Physically, she was fine. He had been careful to be gentle, but it wasn't the physical part of the ordeal, but her feelings. She couldn't help but feel betrayed. While she had never told him no, she had never said yes either. She had merely told him to wait… she needed time to process everything that was happening. If he had waited… would I still have had sex with him? She didn't know the answer to that. He was her brother and in her eyes, he would always be her brother. Kagome knew she was open to a lot of things, but incest was something she had never thought about before. Why would she have? Before last night, she would have never thought it was possible for Inuyasha to be sexually attracted to her.

Taking a quivering breath, she looked down and noticed the dried remains of last night still on the inside of her legs. Another wave of nausea washed over her, but there was nothing left in her stomach so she bent over the toilet, riding through the uncomfortable waves of dry heaves. Only after her stomach had settled did she turn on the shower, peel off her remaining clothes and climb inside.

She sat in the corner, letting the hot water fall over her. No matter how much water she dumped over her, she still couldn't wash the feeling from her skin. Last night could never be erased, not with all the water in the world.

Once the water grew cold, she turned off the shower. Gently drying herself, she sat herself back in the same corner, shivering as her bare body pressed against the cold tile. I want to wake up. I want this all to be a bad dream. Once I wake up, everything will be back to normal. Kouga will still be a wonderful boyfriend… Inuyasha my brother…

A gentle knock at the door broke into her thoughts as Inuyasha's gentle voice came through the closed door. “Kagome? Are you okay?”

I just had sex with you! You really think I'm okay?! She glared at the door as if it was Inuyasha. When she didn't answer, he continued.

“Kagome, please, I think we really need to talk.”

“Leave me alone.”

“Please Kagome! I-I'm sorry, just… please…” He sounded as if he was in pain. Good! She thought to herself. A just punishment for what he did to me! Though she wanted to hate him, she could muster the strength. Shivering, she gave in.

“It's open,” she said softly. Slowly, the door opened and Inuyasha appeared at the opening. His face flushed as he saw her naked body, quickly looking away. For a second, she almost laughed aloud. “After what you did last night, I would think seeing me naked would be easier.” She felt a little better seeing him wince from the venom in her voice. She wanted to hurt him, even though each word of anger hurt her as well.

“I'm sorry, I'm so very, very sorry,” he said on the verge of tears as he stared at the wall.

“Don't say that,” she said, suddenly angry. “Do not fucking say that!” He stepped back in surprise. She burst into tears. “Don't say it! I don't want you to say it!” She felt her anger fade through her tears as they rolled down her face. “How can I hate you if you say that?”

He moved closer to her, grabbing one of the dry towels and wrapped it around her as she sobbed. When he was close enough however, she surprised him by suddenly jumping on him, wrapping her arms around his neck as she pressed her head into his chest. He was right in front of her. She wanted to hate him, to hit him, to scream at him, to make him suffer. Yet she couldn't. Her anger and rage would simply fizzle out before she could focus it on him.

“Why? Why can't I hate you!?” she sobbed. Awkwardly, he wrapped his arms around her. “Just for a day, and hour, a second, please! Let me hate you!” He said nothing as she sobbed, removing her arms from his neck, she gently pounded them against his broad chest. “I hate you! I hate you! Why did you do this to me? Why?”

“I love you,” he said softly.

“I hate you!” she cried.

“I want you too. I'm a terrible person, hate me,” he said. The firmness of his voice surprised her. “Never forget this hate. Never forgive me for what I did to you last night. Whenever you think of me, only remember the hate.”

She backed away just enough to look up at him, surprised at his words. There was a strange look of seriousness on his face.

“I want you to hate me forever. Only then can I truly let you go.” He took a deep breath. “Kagome, I'm going to leave soon. I'm going to leave and never come back. So I don't want you to ever forgive me for what I did. If you did….” His voice caught in his throat. “I don't think I could bear it.”

Go? Leave me? Forever? The words echoed in her head as she stared up at him. He took the opportunity of her lack of concentration to press his lips against hers. She didn't resist. All too suddenly, he was gone. His warmth against her skin, the gentle press of his hands against her back, all of it was now gone. It took her several minutes to realize it. He's gone… Gone! Even after what he had done, the pain of his last words struck her deeper than Kouga's words ever had. Kouga leaving had wounded her heart, Inuyasha had ripped it out. Falling to her knees, the tears flowed without end.

Inuyasha wasn't sure what to do anymore. He couldn't return to his house, not now, not ever. Instead, he sat on a bench in the park, watching the people stroll leisurely by, every once in awhile; one of the children would play around the fountain at the center of the small courtyard. He was envious at how carefree everyone seemed. Couples moved about, arms linked and laughing as if they had all the happiness in the world. He hated them. He hated how they could have happiness that he never could.

Someone suddenly sat beside him with a loud sigh, causing Inuyasha to jump in surprise. Looking over, he was shocked to see Rex peeling the wrapper of a crepe back and stuffing a large portion of it into his mouth. For several seconds, Inuyasha just stared at the man as he chewed to himself. Looking over, Rex eyed Inuyasha as if seeing him for the first time. With his mouth still full, Rex offered the crepe to Inuyasha, an expectant look on his face. Shaking his head, Inuyasha pushed it gently away. Shrugging, Rex went back to eating.

They sat in silence, watching the people stroll pass as Rex ate nosily. Only after he had finished and sucked the tips of his fingertips did Rex let out a loud sigh as he stretched his arms forward. “That really hit the spot!”

“What do you want?” Inuyasha growled angrily. He really didn't want to mess with this right now.

“Same thing I always have, you.”

“I haven't decided yet.”

“Oh, I beg to differ. I have a feeling you know exactly what you want to do.” Fear gripped Inuyasha as he quickly looked over at the man, his body instantly breaking out in a sweat.

“How do you know all this? Just who are you?”

“Like I said, I'm a friend. How I know all this doesn't really matter, just that I do.” Rex took a deep breath, looking out towards the fountain. “You know, I wouldn't beat yourself up over it.”

“Huh?”

“About your sister.” Inuyasha's heart raced as his eyes widened.

“How do you know about that?” he hissed, voice low as he quickly looked around to make sure no one was listening in on their conversation.

“Relax, I'm not going to arrest you or anything,” Rex said with a smile, holding out his hands. “Honest.” Inuyasha eyed him suspiciously.

“I want you to tell me how you know that! Tell me right now or I will walk away right now.”

Rex sighed. “My friends are very adept at getting into places and out without leaving traces of being there.”

“So you are spying on us.”

“No, we are spying on you. I don't think you are quite grasping at how important secrecy is to us. We have to make sure you don't tell anyone anything about me or anything I have told you. Also, just because you are smart doesn't mean we will allow you inside. We have to make sure you are psychologically sound. We can't have mentally unstable people get their hands on some of the gadgets we have. The result would be very… bad.”

Inuyasha let out a dry laugh. “So I guess I've failed the `psychologically sound' part.”

To Inuyasha's surprise, Rex shook his head. “No, you are quite sane, eccentric maybe, but sane. We don't mind eccentric.”

“You must be good at lying saying that with a straight face.”

“I'm quite serious.”

“I just raped my sister and you are saying that I'm psychologically A-okay.”

“To my knowledge, she never told you no.”

“She fought me though… at the beginning.”

“Of course she did, who wouldn't in that situation? You weren't exactly Romeo wooing over Juliet. She was confused and wasn't exactly sober at the time.”

“Wait… you were watching?” Rex blinked, as if surprised Inuyasha was just figuring it out.

“Of course I was.”

Inuyasha suddenly felt… he didn't know how he felt. Violated was close, dirty as well. “After seeing all that, you still want me to join?”

“I've seen worse, trust me. Just because you have a thing for your sister doesn't change the fact that you have a brilliant mind and a kind heart.”

“I'm not going to lie, that sounds a little weird coming from you,” Inuyasha said with a chuckle. Rex smiled as he shrugged. They sat in silence a little longer before Inuyasha looked over at him again. “Say, how long have you been watching me?”

“Me? Since Mr. Terrance called you in.” He was disappointed at the answer. He was hoping it had been sooner. “Why?”

“Nothing, I was just hoping you could help answer a question about my parents.”

“Ah, you saw the picture?”

“Huh? Picture?” Inuyasha suddenly remembered the picture in the closet. Since he was still wearing the same jeans, he quickly dug it out of his pocket. Four people were standing in the picture, each one wearing a giant smile. He recognized two of them as his parents. His mother was standing next to another woman as his father took the outside. He and the other man were holding a large plaque in front of the women, but the photo was too faded to make out what it said. One thing he did notice was that his mother was quite pregnant.

“Oh good, you found it!” Rex said, craning his neck to look at the picture. “I was worried that you wouldn't find it.”

“So you put it there?”

“Well, not me exactly, but yes, it was my idea.”

“Why?”

“You wanted answers didn't you? Reasons why your parents don't want you to go with me.” Suddenly, something clicked for him.

“They were a part of Aura,” he said, more to himself than Rex.

“Correct.”

“But I thought you said it was impossible to leave once you were in.” Rex smiled.

“Yes, that is true. You're parents are… a unique case. A major problem with dealing with brilliant people is that they often find brilliant ways to blackmail you. It was deemed better to let them go than to risk them exposing everything about Aura.”

“So you have been watching them ever since they left?” Inuyasha asked, suddenly excited.

“I think that goes without saying. It's an understanding we struck between us. We are allowed to take measures to protect our secrecy so long as they are allowed their freedom.”

“I thought in those situations, the blackmailers suffered mysterious accidents.” Rex frowned.

“You've been watching too many spy movies. Just because we are keen on secrecy doesn't mean we go around assassinating people who know about us.”

“And if I were to say no to your offer?”

“I don't see why you would. I can guarantee you that once you go there, you won't want to leave. Aura is a place where impossible things aren't so impossible.”

“My parents did.”

“As I said, your parents had their reasons.”

“So… any chance I am adopted or something?” Rex smiled sadly.

“Sorry, but your mother now is the same mother that gave birth to you. But…” Inuyasha was silent, waiting for him to continue. Rex shook his head as if deciding against something. “I'll take my leave for today.”

“But I still have questions. You never finished what you were saying!”

“Your parents will be home tomorrow, undoubtedly in a bad mood. I would talk to them. I can't spoil all the good parts.” Rex stood up, brushing off his butt before stretching. “In the mean time, I would go home if I were you.”

“I don't think I can… not after that…”

“You can either face your problem and get closure now, or spend eternity wondering if you made the right decision to run. It's up to you to decide which one you can live with.” Inuyasha stared suspiciously over at him as Rex started walking towards the mass of people, giving a small wave in the air as he merged into them, leaving Inuyasha to his thoughts.

********************************************

Kagome was waiting for Inuyasha to return. While she had panicked that he wouldn't return, the feeling that he would return had slowly replaced it. It was impossible for him to leave now, not after that. Undoubtedly, he had gone out to clear his head, which was good. Kagome needed time to put her thoughts together as well.

Upon hearing the door open, she rushed from the living room out to the hall. He seemed surprised to see her, a look of shame immediately registering on his face as she stared at him. Closing the door behind him, he took off his shoes before moving out from the entrance area. They stood in silence, a fair amount of distance between them.

“I've been thinking…” Inuyasha said softly, breaking the silence.

“I have been too.” The silence stretched as they each waited to see who would go first. “I have some questions for you,” Kagome said gently. Inuyasha nodded, not meeting her eyes. “First, what did you mean by you were leaving? Where are you going?”

“I… can't tell you.”

“Why?”

“I just can't. I'm really sorry that I can't, but… Think of it as a college of sorts.” It wasn't the answer Kagome wanted, but she knew that she wasn't going to be able to get anything more out of him on that subject.

“I don't want that.” He finally looked at her. “I don't want you to leave!” She had thought about it for hours. It was true that she was uncomfortable about what had happened last night, but through all her reasoning, he was still her brother and she still loved him, twisted as it seemed. Looking up, she saw the anguish on his face. Why it took so long, she didn't know, but his world was becoming clear. It wasn't something at school; it wasn't her parents that were causing Inuyasha's depression and withdrawal. It was her.

Inuyasha knew where his feelings stood. It wasn't the alcohol twisting things in her head last night. He had meant what he said. He loved her and wanted to express it in the most intimate way, regardless of their relationship. Burying it this whole time, suppressing it inside him, refusing to never let even a shred show, it was no wonder it all exploded last night. How long as he been hiding his feelings? A year? Two? Three? More? A commendable feat considering how close he was to her and she never picked up on it in the slightest.

But Kagome had her own feelings. Everything was so new, so unexpected. Even now, she still didn't know where she stood. She loved him. Of course she loved him. She had always loved him unconditionally. He was the closest member of the family to her. A single mistake like last night couldn't destroy a lifetime of memories. Damage yes, but not destroy. Though she didn't hate him and was moving down the path of forgiveness, was it fair to him? He was her brother and always would be. Could I ever see him as anything more? She didn't know. She didn't even know if she wanted too. It would be a difficult path… a very difficult path, and perhaps, a very lonely one for her as well.

She could tell Inuyasha was biting his lower lip as the silence stretched. “I'm sorry, but I can't,” he said slowly, deliberately. She could feel the weight of each word as he spoke them, each one pressing solemnly on her heart. “If I did… it would only happen again. I can't live like that. Already…” His voice broke. “I can't live like I am now. Staying around you, knowing what I've done, what I still want to do…” He stepped forward slightly. In that same moment, Kagome took a step back without realizing it. She knew at once that she had done the worst possible thing in that situation. His expression softened for just a moment before hardening as his eyes went towards the floor.

“I'll be back tomorrow. I need to talk to Mom and Dad before leaving.” He turned around and began putting his shoes on. Her heart began to race. She watched as he stood, her mind suddenly clearing. All her worries were gone. The past didn't matter, nor the future. The only thing she cared about was now, and now, Inuyasha was leaving.

Before he could reach for the door, she grabbed him from behind, pressing herself against his back. “Don't leave me!” she cried. Nothing else mattered anymore. The news of him leaving earlier had shaken her to the very core of her being. She didn't want to feel that again. Not now, not ever.

“Kagome, let go,” he said softly.

“No! I won't let you!”

“Kagome please!” he said, trying to wiggle out of her arms. Struggle all you want, but I won't let go! “Kagome!” his loud voice surprised her. In that second, he managed to slip out, spinning around too face her. She had recovered though, and in the time it took him to regain his senses, she had already taken the step forward. A second was all she needed for her lips to meet his, even though she had to stand on her toes to reach his. The touch of their lips was all it needed to freeze his body. Even after she lowered herself down, his body still remained tense as he stared down at her, his expression one of shock, confusion and fright.

“Don't do this to me,” he pleaded; his voice a whisper. It's too late…

It was the living room this time. Lips locked in passion, Inuyasha had carried her over to where the couch sat. There was no resistance from her this time. His hot breath hit her face each time they gasped for air before sealing their lips again, their tongues exploring the others mouth. Seconds was all it took for them to be naked as they nearly tore at each others' clothes.

She had gone mad. It was the only explanation she had for her actions. She cried out as he entered her once more. It was infinitely better than their first time. Inuyasha wasn't the same either. The gentle man who had slept with her the night before was gone. It was as if all his pent up emotions were being release with each brutal thrust. She understood that she wasn't having sex; she was just along for the ride, and it was an amazing one at that.

Each thrust brought a loud cry from her lips. Nothing seemed to matter anymore. A high pitched wail was all she could do when he brought her over the edge. He moved in closer, increasing his pace as she wrapped herself around him, pulling him into her. Her fingernails dug into his back as he pushed into her, his hot liquid filling her. Both lay there, not moving as they gasped for breath, his cock twitching inside her as it sputtered the last of his seed into her.

They were both crying. She knew from the wetness against her bare shoulder. He had done it again, and she was the one who had brought him to do it. Shame, regret, disgust; she wouldn't let him escape them, not if that meant he had to leave her. She was selfish. She didn't want a life without Inuyasha and would do anything to keep him there.

Even now, as she felt him soften inside her, she wasn't sure of her feelings. For him, he had sex with the woman he loved. For her….

I just had sex with my brother…

I decided I shouldn't make you wait TOO long for an update, so it's a shorter chapter.

It may seem like the story is picking up the pace a bit, but that is because it is. I don't expect there to be too much left before I complete it. I still have some twists and curve balls in mind, so it certainly won't be boring.

Kind of a short note, but I have to go to work. I'll look over and fix any errors afterwards. Until then, hope you enjoyed and please, leave reviews! I love reading them! My thanks to everyone who has left one!

Edit: Not so much for the story, but for the note. I had to throw one up quickly before leaving for work. I am a good way into chapter eight and it looks like I will be finishing up this story in the next chapter or two. I know I could easily make this a longer story, but I have been thinking of another story for awhile now, so I thought I would wrap this one up before starting on another one.
