Well, guys, I cannot guarantee that this fanfic will be updated regularly. CONSIDERING I suck at multi-chapter fanfics and getting them updated on a timely manner. But I'm going to give it a shot.

I have the attention span of a poodle by the way.

Chapter 2: The Male in the Beast





Kagome awoke on the cool grass. Her backpack lay a tiny bit more tattered than it used to be beside her. All she had to figure out now was the license plate number of the truck that ran her over.

“Oh man,” Kagome moaned, quite perturbed, “Why me?”

Vaguely in the back of her head she realized she probably should start running away from the large beast that had taken her captive.

But where would she run? She didn't even know where the heck she was.

It's cold, it's dark, and now she's hungry.

Perfect.

He had been snuffling around, digging up rabbits for his little captive human to eat.

Humans eat rabbit right?

Hmm…

Sesshoumaru-beast's ears perked and he bounded back towards his Priestess.

Such a shame his human half wasn't interested in little human females. She was kind of cute in a weird, squishy way.

He trotted back towards the human, ignoring the deer that honked in surprise and scattered from between his paws.

He came upon the camp to find his little captured female snuggled close to a fire, an odd covering wrapped around her shoulders as she toasted her fingers by the flame.

`Female,' He wanted to say, but it came out as a bark.

She screamed in surprise and he whined pitifully, his cold nose rubbing against her cheek. The last thing he wanted was for this woman to fear him. After all, who would rub his poor itchy ears?

His back claws were too sharp and often tore the soft fluffy things so that was SO out of the question.

He tilted his head and let out a long cry of longing, his eyes rolling to look at her as if saying, “Love me…Love meeeee….Pet me…Stroke me…I am but a puppy dog.”

Kagome gawked. “Are you real?” Her nose flared, a sign she was highly agitated and confused. “You are NOT acting very Sesshoumaru-like. Are you sick? Is this why you're being so…weird…and puppy-like?”

Her hand reached out and he panted heavily, his tangy acidic breath fanning out, curling her nose hairs.

“Pee-yew! You are one stinky puppy, Sesshoumaru.” He let out a shuddering breath and let out a low rumbling bark as she waved her hand in front of her face to get the smell away.

“Hey, wow, it's like…you're actually a big puppy.” She grinned widely in a very Cheshire manner. “I wonder…”

Her hand reached out again, this time it dug into the soft skin behind his ear, scratching heavily and thoroughly.

The ground started shaking but actually by shaking I mean everything BOUNCED. Kagome nearly fell on her backside from the tremors. The only thing that kept her standing was the fact that her fingers were buried a foot deep in silky silver fur. “Woah buddy.”

She peered around looking for any sign of danger, trying to find the source of unearthly earthquakes. “What in the name of God was that?” She shrugged and went back to scratching the large canine's ears.

The tremors started up again but she didn't stop this time, instead she kept one arm buried in fur and the other scratching until she found the reason for the rocking earthquakes.

Kagome had found his oh-so-scratchy spot. And he was showing appreciation.

“Kawaii!” She squealed and eagerly scratched harder, making sure to get every crevice that Sesshoumaru surely couldn't reach. “Oh you poor doggie I bet that itched so badly!”

It was then she noticed that there were about four fairly good sized rabbits lying by the fire, “And you brought me food! How sweet!”

Sesshoumaru-beast let out a moaning growl and rolled onto his side where he watched her skin and skewer the rabbits, roasting them over the fire. “How did you know rabbit is my favorite?

He wuffed and his thick tail thumped the ground in content.

`PET ME,' His position practically screamed to her. Not one to deny an urge, she walked over to him and dug her hands into his thick masses of fur. Her hands moved furiously on his belly. She itched him, she scratched him, she petted him, and she rubbed his belly.

Sesshoumaru's Beast had never been so happy in its LIFE. Not only does he have maybe 2 days of free reign he had a beautiful female rubbing his belly and itching his poor ears. Maybe tomorrow he could get her to scratch both ears at the same time. Maybe…She could give him a bath tomorrow!

He sure did love swimming…the feel of the water flowing over his fur and through it relaxed him so much he could fall asleep. He'd just have to make sure not to pee in the water this time, last time he did that in a lake he killed all the fish and turned the surrounding area into a dead zone. He had been so embarrassed.

Maybe she'd swim with him. He'd have to be extra careful not to pee in the water so he wouldn't hurt his cute little pet. She was nice; she scratched his itchies and rubbed his ears. Last person to ever rub his ears was his mother and she wasn't here anymore.

Sesshoumaru-Beast let out a mournful whine and bumped Kagome's behind with his nose, urging her closer to his head so she could stroke his floppy ear.

Soon after she ate, she fell asleep next to the big dog, her back leaning against his fluffy chest as he remained awake to fend off his more…humanoid counterpart.

He just wanted a day or two more with his new friend.

Plus, once he was put back into his “cage” the next time he'd be allowed out would be when Sesshoumaru let down his guard. Or if Sesshoumaru lost control of his anger and shifted forms, then he'd probably have enough strength to take over their body again and visit his cute little friend again.
But for now he'd watch her nap. She sounded funny when she slept, like a goose of sorts…or maybe a baby bear sleeping.

He'd let her sleep for now, then, when she woke he'd drag her to a bath.
