Chapter 4: Yami

 

 

 

The second Kagome and Inuyasha walked into the dark club they were assaulted by loud pulsating music. Kagome cringed at the sound of the awful techno music and the flashing of the strobe lights.

 

“ I don't like it.” Kagome yelled to Inuyasha over the loud music. Inuyasha's dog ears twitched slightly at the sound of the girl's voice. The hanyou chuckled slightly and looked at the girl's attire.. she looked like she should be in an office or courtroom, not in a night club.

 

“ It's okay.. come on.” Inuyasha took Kagome's hand and led her to one of the VIP rooms where his friends were hanging out. Inside the VIP the music was much softer and Kagome was surprised to see so many people just lounging on the floor and on the couches. They all stopped to look at Inuyasha and Kagome. “ Kagome this is Suikotsu, Bankotsu, Hiten, Manten, Naraku, Kagura, Kanna, Ayame, Sango, Miroku, Jakotsu Renkotsu, Kouga, and Shippo.” Kagome bowed politely to all the people.

 

“ I'm sorry but I'm probably going to forget all your names. I'm Kagome though.” All the guys knowing Inuyasha's game smiled to the girl. The girls gave one another somewhat melancholy looks then smiled to Kagome. Kouga, a tall dark haired wolf demon stood up and took one of Kagome's hands in his but she promptly pulled it away. “ Hands to yourself buddy.” Kouga huffed with annoyance to the girl.

 

“ I'm just trying to say hello.” He gave her a pained look and Kagome sighed.

 

“ I'm sure you were. Hello just same.” Kagome gave Kouga a friendly slap on the back with so much force the wolf demon nearly fell over. The girls smirked to one another… maybe she would be fine.

 

“ What is a pretty wench like you doing with a piece of shit like Yash?” Bankotsu asked shaking Kagome's hand.

 

“ He's a friend of the family.” Kagome said with a slight frown. “ And I'm sure that no girl appreciates being called a wench or at least I don't.” Bankotsu snickered and looked back at his friends who chuckled at the reaction of the girl.

 

“ Oi Kagome come sit with us.” Kanna called patting a spot on the plush carpeted ground. Kagome smiled nervously and went to sit with the other girls.

 

“ First date?” Sango asked Kagome immediately who only scoffed and rolled her eyes before answering.

 

“ It's not a date. Someone already warned me about Inuyasha and I know what he expects. Trust me.. he won't get it.” Kagome said firmly, Kagura gave Kagome a doubtful look, but then she saw the fearless look in Kagome's eyes.

 

“ For your sake I hope he doesn't. I got in enough trouble with Sesshoumaru.” Kagura whispered almost inaudibly into Kagome's ear. Kagome's eyes widened and she stole a glance at Inuyasha who was quietly talking to all the other guys who snickered every now and then. Was Inuyasha really that big of a dirtbag that even his friends would warn her about him?

 

“ We've seen it happen often to girls like you.” Ayame whispered into Kagome's other ear. “ Absolutely ruined them. Reputations destroyed, trust funds taken away.” Ayame shuddered at the thought of not having money.

 

“ So how did you guys meet?” Kagura asked curiously, her voice immediately lost it's serious tone.

 

“ My family owns the Higurashi Corporation and both our parents' companies are merging.”

 

“ So will you be going to school with us?” Ayame asked next. Kagome smiled politely and nodded, though the girls seemed perfectly nice she still felt like she was in an interrogation.

 

“ If it's Sukebe High.. Yea. I start next fall.” Ayame smiled to Kagome. `She seems like a nice girl.. We all have to make she STAYS a nice girl.

 

“ That's awesome. You should hang out with me and the other girls. We'll show you a better time than Dog Boy.” Sango said smirking over to Inuyasha who glared.

 

“ I'm not deaf you know wench!” Inuyasha called over to Sango who rolled her eyes.

 

“ Baka I know that!” Sango yelled sticking her tongue out at the boy.

 

` Those bitches better not be poisoning her to me.' Thought Inuyasha angrily, he had his car.. his baby riding on this bet.

 

“ She swears she'll be able to keep away from me.” Inuyasha quietly told his friends who laughed. “ Look at the bitch.. what a great conquest she will be.”

 

“ Probably thinks she'll be the one to get away.” Bankotsu inserted before drinking a beer.

 

“ Bet you.. No.. I KNOW she's gotta be tight.” Naraku muttered looking over to Kagome's laughing figure. She exuded grace, purity and was absolutely beautiful. He wanted her and didn't give a flying fuck what the hell mutt face wanted.

 

“ You quit it. I called dibs! You guys can have her when I'm done. But I gotta make sure I win Sesshoumaru's condo.” Inuyasha quietly said popping open a bottle of beer for himself. “ Gorgeous, you wanna beer?” Inuyasha called smiling over to Kagome who frowned and shook her head.

 

“ I don't drink.” She called before turning her attention back to the girls around her.

 

“ If you want anything to drink I'm sure the girls will gladly find something that you'll like.” Inuyasha glanced at the girls who shot him a cold glare.

 

“ God.. she's gotta be the best one yet.” Renkotsu said staring at Kagome with dark hunger. His eyes traveled over her form and he sighed sadly.. there was no chance in hell any of them could get into the pants of that girl.

 

“ Man, do you really wanna do that to such a nice girl?” Shippo asked sadly.

 

“ Of course!” Inuyasha snickered stealing a glance at Kagome. She seemed to radiate beauty as she laughed with his friends. She would be a difficult one to subdue.. but she would be worth it. If not just because of her beauty and innocence.. but also to prove a point to others that he could get whatever girl he wanted.

“ Later Yash. Have fun.” Kouga winked at Inuyasha who gave him a sly smirk. “ It was nice meeting you Kagome.” Kouga took Kagome's hand in his then kissed it lightly.

 

“ Uh, yea.. it was nice meeting you too.” Kagome said politely discreetly wiping it off on her skirt. Kouga shot a smirk at Inuyasha who was shaking his head laughing quietly then gave Kouga a drunk punch in the arm. Kagome gave Inuyasha a confused look as they walked out into the parking lot. The hanyou stumbled towards his car as he reached into his pocket in search of his keys. Kagome sighed as she followed him, there was no way she was letting him drive like that.

 

“ Success!” Inuyasha yelled holding up his car keys, which were immediately snatched by Kagome. Giggling softly Kagome kept the keys from the whining hanyou.

 

“ There is no way in heck that I'm letting you drive like that.” Kagome said in a serious tone as she unlocked the car.

 

“ Like what Princess?” Inuyasha slurred trying unsuccessfully to take the keys from the girl. He lost his footing but managed to catch himself on the door of his car, but not without pressing Kagome beneath him. With a yelp Kagome found herself pinned with her front against the cold car. Inuyasha swore he could hear Kagome's heart beating rapidly as their bodies were pressed together. “ I think the Kami are saying something.” Inuyasha whispered heatedly into Kagome's ear before taking in the girl's scent. Kagome laughed nervously turning to face Inuyasha. Gently the girl pushed Inuyasha backwards and shook her head with a laugh.

 

“ Yea Inuyasha. The Kami are saying you need to lay off the alcohol.” Kagome took Inuyasha's arm and led him without much fuss into the passenger's seat. “You're lucky I know how to drive stick.” Kagome said fastening her own seatbelt. Inuyasha chuckled and waggled his eyebrows at Kagome who playfully shoved him. “ You're a real hentai you know that!”

 

“ I admit it I am a hentai, but you're gorgeous I can't help it.” Inuyasha said seriously, his words not slurring at all.

 

“ Sure Inuyasha. That's the alcohol.” Kagome mumbled doubtfully. “Maybe you should just stop talking altogether.”

 

“ Now what kind of friend speaks to another friend like that?” Inuyasha said gazing at now laughing girl through blurred eyes. He dug through his pockets to fish out his cigarettes and a lighter.

 

“ FUCK!” Inuyasha suddenly yelled. Kagome whipped her head to face a green-faced Inuyasha. Kagome swerved to the side of the road and helped the inebriated boy out of the car. With a few obscenities Inuyasha stumbled out further from the side of the freeway and fell not so gracefully to his hands and knees coughing. After a few moments of just coughing Inuyasha stood up. “ False alarm.. Sorry.” Inuyasha chuckled apologetically to Kagome who sighed.

 

“ Let's just get home.” Kagome mumbled uncomfortably as they got back into the car.

 

“ Do you hate me Kagome?” Inuyasha asked looked out the moon roof at the twinkling stars. Kagome giggled and looked over at Inuyasha who was if she was reading him right, pouting. The thoughts going through the hanyou's head however were far from immature.

 

“ Why do you think that?” Kagome asked turning her attention back to the road.

 

“ It's been one day and you've looked at me like I was the scum of the earth. Have I fucked up that badly already?” Kagome's lips curled into a soft smile and she glanced at Inuyasha without a response.
