Kagome's heart ached slightly as she followed Jaken to the door. Her life was here now, in Tokyo. She felt guilty about leaving her elderly grandfather alone in Osaka. She was positive he was lonely now, but he insisted on managing the shrine on his own. His life had always been in Osaka and she had a feeling it always would be. That was where he grew up, met her grandmother, got married and raised not only Kagome's father, but Kagome as well. She walked into the house silently following her parents as she clutched her suitcase tightly in her hands. It was early in the night and they had just arrived back in Tokyo. She smiled politely to the Takahashi's who greeted them in the living room.

 

“We're so glad you're back.” Izayoi said hugging both Maemi and Kagome. “Inuyasha isn't here at the moment. I'm sure he would have wanted to be here when you arrived though.” She said to Kagome with a hopeful glint in her eyes. Kagome shrugged and smiled politely though she secretly half wished that Inuyasha would have been there when she arrived back into town.

 

“It's all right. I'm sure he's busy.”

Inuyasha tossed the empty vodka bottle to Kikyou who smirked slightly. “Why did I even doubt you would be able to finish that entire bottle.” Kikyou said laughingly as she read the bottle's label. “You're a hanyou. There shouldn't have been a doubt in my mind.” The girl cooed as she leaned slightly against Inuyasha's arm. Inuyasha threw an arm around Kikyou's shoulders as they walked into Inuyasha's club, Yami. As they walked towards the front door the people waiting in lines to enter the club began to grumble and groan with anger.

 

“ I've been waiting for two hours.” One man said scowling at Inuyasha and then at the hanyou bouncer, Jinenji. “What makes this youkai asshole and his bitch more special than any of us?!” The large bouncer walked up to the man and towered over the smaller youkai.

 

“ He happens to own Yami. Show some respect.” Jinenji growled to the youkai. Inuyasha smirked at the youkai who had paled significantly before escorting Kikyou inside. After walking inside Kikyou went to the dance floor as Inuyasha went to his VIP room to meet his friends. He walked into the room where numerous drinks sat on the table.

 

“ `Bout time you showed up.” Miroku said laughingly as he knocked back a beer. “Out fucking Kikyou I presume?” Inuyasha huffed, but the smirk on his face and the look in his eyes hinted that that was exactly what he was doing.

 

“ What about that Higurashi wench? She back in town yet?” Kouga asked slyly. Inuyasha laughed as he grabbed an unopened beer off of the table.

 

“ Not yet, but when she does, damn.. She'll get a warm welcome.” Inuyasha licked his fangs predatorily and the others only laughed.

 

“ Kikyou's a good looking bitch though.” Naraku said stroking his chin thoughtfully. “I wouldn't mind fucking her.” Hiten scoffed as he took a shot of tequila and grimaced.

 

“She's a walking STD Naraku.” Hiten said choking down another shot. “No offense Inuyasha.” The hanyou shrugged as he drank some cold sake.

 

“ I'm careful unlike my idiot brother.” Inuyasha said with a smirk.

 

“ You're lucky he isn't here. He's fuck you up.” Miroku said with a chuckle. “Kick you ass from here to the States.” The demons laughed and agreed. “But back to the original topic.. Miss Higurashi, with legs that beg to be parted..” Inuyasha smacked Miroku on the back of the head.

 

“ Lecherous monk.” Inuyasha grumbled with a shake of his head.

 

“ There's no way in hell that prissy wench will go for that.” Kouga stated with a pointed finger. “But the girls really like her.. maybe hanging out with them will change her.” The wolf demon smiled imagining a more carefree Kagome.

 

“ Here's to hoping.” Inuyasha said lifting another bottle of beer. The other guys lifted their drinks and they toasted to Kagome and the hopes that she would one day become slutty. Kikyou walked back into the room and smiled Inuyasha before settling herself on his lap.

 

“ What are you guys toasting to?” She asked cuddling against the hanyou.

 

“ Nothing Baby. Just toasting.” The girl hugged Inuyasha tightly and the hanyou rolled his eyes to the others over the girl's shoulder. The guys hid their snickers as Kikyou pulled back from Inuyasha.

As Kagome unpacked her suitcase her cell phone began to ring. Not recognizing the number she answered cautiously.

 

“ Hello?” Kagome said as she ceased her unpacking.

 

“ You back in town yet.. Oh, it's Sango.” Kagome laughed slightly as she once again began to take out more clothes from her suitcase.

 

“ Yea actually. I'm unpacking right now.” Kagome could hear people talking and music blaring in the background.

 

“ Good because we're at the front door. We're going to Yami.” With that Sango hung up abruptly. Kagome laughed and walked out of her room. By the time she reached the living room Sango, Rin and Ayame were already chatting away with Inuyasha's as well as her parents. Kagome walked into the room smiling softly to the girls. The young miko opened her mouth to asked if she could go out with the girls, but was cut off by her mother.

 

“ They already asked and I think that's a wonderful idea.” Maemi said with a supportive smile. Sango smiled coyly as Kagome quirked a questioning eyebrow. “Enjoy the jazz music festival and have fun at Sango's.” Kagome smiled widely and nodded. “We'll see you tomorrow.”

 

“ Thanks.” Kagome said kissing both of her parents' cheeks before walking out of the house. As the girls made their way to Sango's car, Rin looked at Kagome's clothing.

 

“ Do you always dress like a business woman?” Kagome looked down at her black high heels, dark gray button up shirt and black mid thigh skirt then blushed.

 

“ When I'm around my parents yes. My entire wardrobe in the Takahashi mansion consists of button up shirt, skirts and dress pants.” Kagome shuddered slightly with a small joking grimace.

 

“ We're going to have to make a stop then.” Ayame said with a smile.

 

An hour later the girls entered the club and the same man who had grumbled about Inuyasha was whining once again.

 

“ First that couple and now these girls? Will I ever get inside?” Jinenji rolled his eyes as he let the girls get into the club.

 

“ Keep bitching like that and you'll never get inside.” Sango laughed and took one of Kagome's arms, Ayame took hold of another and Rin pushed Kagome from behind.

 

“ Let's go!”

Inuyasha sighed with boredom as he wandered out onto the dance floor. Kikyou was now completely plastered but still getting more drinks from the bar. The multi-colored lights flashed illuminating certain parts of the club at certain times. He spotted Sango, Ayame and Rin dancing up on a small platform near the side of the club. His eyes looked on a familiar form, Kagome. She was laughing and whispering things to the other girls as she danced seductively on the stage. The hanyou's mouth suddenly felt dry as he watched the girl move to the music. The clothes she was wearing were so different from anything he had ever seen her wear. A tight black miniskirt hugged her hips and a red low-cut halter top complimented her chest. The girl's hair was hanging down in oppose to the severe bun she normally wore framed her face.

 

As if in a daze Inuyasha made his way towards the platform the girls were dancing on and stood near the bottom. Sango spotted him instantly and waved a hello at him. Sango tapped and elbowed the other girls to get their attention and they all waved at Inuyasha. Kagome blushed when she faced Inuyasha who was staring at her with a dumb smile. Carefully Kagome got down to the platform and walked over to Inuyasha.

 

“ How was Osaka?” Inuyasha asked Kagome against the loud pulsing music.

 

“ What?” Kagome yelled unable to hear Inuyasha. With a chuckle Inuyasha cautiously took Kagome's hand and led her behind the bar. They stopped at a door and Kagome raised an eyebrow. The hanyou smirked and mouthed `You'll see' and opened up the door with a key. They walked up a set of stairs and into a spacious office. There was a window in the office overlooking the dance floor.

 

“ As I tried to ask earlier.. How was Osaka?” Inuyasha asked taking a seat on his plush computer chair. He leaned back and put his feet up on the desk in front of him. Kagome smiled and sat on the desk next to Inuyasha's feet.

 

“ Osaka was.. Actually, it was kind of boring, reminded me of Hojou.” Kagome smiled sadly as she looked out the window and to the dance floor. Inuyasha looked at the girl next to him and couldn't help but smile at her relaxed posture.

 

“What happened with you and him?” Inuyasha asked softly. Kagome whipped her head to face Inuyasha and she frowned.

 

“ Nothing.” Kagome insisted with a firm frown on her lips. “I'm sorry.” She said turning away from Inuyasha.

 

“ No that's fine.” Inuyasha said though he felt a bit offended by her secretiveness, but all feelings melted away when he realized that there was no real reason that she had to divulge any secrets about herself to him. Her personal life wasn't important to him. What did he care about some wench's ex-boyfriend. The uncomfortable silence continued for several minutes until Inuyasha finally decided to speak. “ So, what's with the get up?.. Not that I mind the tight clothes..” Inuyasha waggled his eyebrows at Kagome who playfully smacked Inuyasha in the foot. With a small but happy sigh Kagome shrugged.

 

“ I admit the make-up is a bit much.. and the clothes are pretty skimpy, but it was their idea. I had to dress like this to come here apparently.” Kagome said as she looked down at her clothes. She adjusted the red halter top and noticed Inuyasha practically drooling at her form. “ Stop being creepy.” Kagome said jokingly to Inuyasha who turned away with an embarrassed look on his face.

 

“ I can't help it. Your hair looks good down.” Inuyasha said as he slowly reached up and pushed a tuft of hair behind Kagome's ear. The girl blushed at his small act of affection and thanked him. “When'd you get to town?”

 

“ A few hours ago actually. I'm exhausted and thanks to Sango lying to both our parents they think I'm at a jazz festival.” Inuyasha laughed and shook his head.

 

“ That definitely sounds like one of Sango's lies. She comes up with the best ones. You know I haven't been home in 2 days. It'll be 3 if I end up staying here tonight too.” Inuyasha said thoughtfully as he folded his arms behind his head.

 

“ Why?” Kagome asked curiously and then wondered if Inuyasha's parents even knew he had been out of the house so many days in a row.

 

“ Feh, just a lot of parties and taking care of things here.” Inuyasha said with a shrug. Kagome nodded and stifled a small yawn. “ Boring you am I?” Inuyasha asked feigning a hurt puppy look.

 

“ No, it's not that. It's just been a long day.” Kagome said with yet another yawn. Inuyasha got up from his chair and walked over to a couch on the other side of the room. He began removing the cushions and converting the couch into a queen sized bed. Kagome watched the hanyou silently as he went over to a closet and pulled out a few sheets, a couple pillows and a comforter. After placing the clean sheets on the mattress Inuyasha walked over to Kagome. With a swoop of his arms he picked up the girl and sat her on the bed.

 

“ Just take a little nap. There's a bathroom over through that door and I'll tell the other girls where you are.” Inuyasha made his way back down towards the stairs but Kagome stopped him.

 

“ Hojo dumped me.” Kagome said as she unfolded the comforter. “He met someone else. I wasn't good enough.” She said softly as she fiddled with the corners of the comforter. Inuyasha walked back further into the room and towards the fold out bed.

 

“ He was an idiot. No one can be better than you.” Inuyasha insisted, Kagome looked up quickly at Inuyasha and smiled softly. “Believe me when I say it Kagome Higurashi. He was an idiot for letting you go.”

 

“ My parents don't know. They'd have a fit if they knew that the man they wanted me to marry dumped me. They're going to blame me.” Kagome said her voice wavering. Inuyasha grasped the girl's shoulders.

 

“ Quit feeling sorry for yourself! Stop caring about what they want!” Inuyasha said shaking her slightly. “You did nothing wrong and if they blame you that's just stupid. You'll be better off without Hoho, Hobo, Homo.. whatever the fuck his name is. You're better off.” Kagome smiled softly to Inuyasha and took one of his hands in hers.

 

“ Thank you.” Inuyasha squeezed Kagome's hand comfortingly then kissed the palm of her hand. The simple action made Kagome's breath catch in her throat and sent shivers up and down her spine. Inuyasha smiled a genuine smile to Kagome who patted a spot on the bed next to her. Inuyasha took a seat next to and the girl carefully laid her head against Inuyasha's shoulder. “Isn't this supposed to be your bed for the night?” Kagome asked remembering he said something about spending the night at Yami.

 

“ Oh yea. Feh, I'll nudge you to kick you out OR I could nudge you to scoot over and I swear I won't try anything.” Inuyasha said with a broad grin. Kagome just rolled her eyes and laughed.

 

“ Fine.” Inuyasha's mouth dropped open and he swore he had to have heard wrong. He completely expected a `hell no' from Kagome. Just then the door at the bottom of the stairs swung open and Inuyasha heard the drunken ravings of Kikyou as she stumbled up the stairs. Kikyou looked over to the bed and saw Inuyasha and Kagome sitting close together. Her glassy eyes narrowed as she tried to glare at Kagome.

 

“ What the fuck Inuyasha? Who's this whore?” The girl walked up to Kagome and shoved her slightly. Kagome laughed and rolled her eyes at the drunken teen. “Laughing at me bitch? Trying to steal my man? He was mine first you ugly bow legged, cross eyed, slutty lard assed, piece of nothing. I would have called you a whore or a piece of shit.. but that would have offended prostitutes and shit.” Kagome jumped up from her seat and before she could say something Kikyou slapped her across the face.

 

“ Kikyou!” Inuyasha growled to the drunken girl. “ Get out of here before I get one of the bouncers to toss you out.” Kikyou laughed and stumbled a few steps away from Inuyasha.

 

“ Come on and fight me you whore.” Kikyou slurred to Kagome who was debating her next movement. Before Kikyou could say anything else Kagome balled up a fist and punched Kikyou square in the face. Inuyasha caught Kikyou before she could hit the floor, but placed her on the cold tile carefully. Kagome grumbled as she made her way down the stairs and towards Sango, Rin and Ayame who were currently chatting away with the guys.

 

“ Can you drop me off at home?” Kagome asked through clenched teeth. Sango nodded and motioned her head for the other girls to follow.
