I don't own any of the InuYasha characters mentioned in this fan fic. I don't own Yellowcard or `Gifts and Curses'.

This fan fic is a song fic that I based off of a song by Yellowcard called `Gifts and Curses'. It's on the Spiderman 2 soundtrack and it inspired me one day to write this. Believe me when I say that this song sounds almost exactly like Kagome and InuYasha and it's very catchy. I would recommend this CD to anyone who likes rock and roll and Spiderman 2.

The whole song isn't in the fan fic, but the most important phrases are.

Gifts and Curses

"Kagome!" InuYasha yelled out as the demon approached the young miko. She tried to run, but the demon was too fast; it knocked her over and made her hit her head on the rock hard ground. He loomed over the girl as InuYasha watched in horror.

`I try to be strong for her, try not to be wrong for her,'

"Kagome, hang on!" He ran over to the girl, but the demon turned to InuYasha.

***

`She will not wait for me anymore, anymore.'

`I have to save you; I never had a chance to tell you…' he growled at the demon, angry that he'd said insults instead of something more meaningful before heading into battle.

***

`Why did I say all those things before I was sure?'

***

"You bastard! I'm the one you want! Leave her out of this!" InuYasha unsheathed Tetsusaiga.

***

`She is the one

But I have a purpose;

And I have to fight this;

She is the one

The villain I can't knock down!'

The demon was too fast for the hanyou though. He launched a hard punch at the hanyou's face. InuYasha flew back into a tree.

Still I will always fight on for you.'

"Kuso! Kagome, I might've failed you!" The hanyou let a tear fall down his face as he watched the demon turn his attention back to Kagome's body. "Why did this have to happen; I was going to apologize, but…"

This gift is my curse for now!'

"I will defeat you!" With renewed strength, InuYasha heaved his sword over his shoulder and charged after the demon. The demon just smirked and brought his fist down on InuYasha's right arm as soon as he was close enough and broke it. "Nani!?"

An arrow pierced the demon's back, causing him to turn around in anger. The miko was standing, holding her bow with an arrow ready. "Don't you dare hurt him!" She cried out.

`What if I fall then where would I go, would she know?'

Now that he'd been distracted, InuYasha seized his chance to use his Wind Scar. He grabbed his sword with his good left hand, then attacked. The demon shattered into little particles and died instantly.

InuYasha went to Kagome's side and picked her up with his left arm, using his broken arm as her back support. "I am so sorry about all those insults I said before the battle. Please forgive me."

"Of course. Thanks for never leaving my side." She rested her head on his chest.

"I will always fight on…for you." He locked lips with her, thankful that she was alive for him to say this. "I love you."
